Because I am preparing feverishly (fitness-wise) to travel to Carnival next month in my husband’s native Trinidad & Tobago, I became intrigued by this photograph of a woman with her belly painted like a peacock that I discovered in the Websphere. It reminds me of the colorful costumes often decorated with bright billowy feathers and plumes, jewels and appliques.
I also loved that the woman is of East Indian decent and nearly half of the people in Trinidad are also of East Indian descent. The other near half is of African descent with a sprinkle of Hispanic, Syrian & Other mixed in between. It is truly a very multicultural island.
Photo credits are in the picture.
Very neat! and this is a Redux because I’ve done the Carnival Belly before.
