The temperature is dropping in many parts of the US which means it’s scarf season again!  That means it’s time again to share fashion blogger Wendy Nguyen’s Lookbook of 25 unique ways to tie a scarf.  Since the Wendy’s Lookbook blogger uploaded the video on her YouTube channel in 2011, it has gotten over 40M views because undoubtedly it is #1 in YouTube search for that topic!

Scarves are the perfect functional piece of your wardrobe because they  keep you warm and they can add a pop of color if you are doing the monochromatic black look to mimic a slimming effect if you are preggers and your hips are spreading faster than your nose. ha!

I also love scarves because you can always get one in a trending color, material or fabric and use them to stay current and in style, if you’re into being hipwhileknocked up. (smile)

Tia Mowry Mixes Up One Maternity Dress in Latest Quick Fix Video

Expecting actress Tia Mowry  Hardrict used her brand new You Tube Channel, “Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix” to present three ways to dress up one black dress into a fashionable outfit for different ways.

The Game alum added a pink duster for a business casual meeting, then switched i up with a leather jacket, strappy heels and a pony tail for a night out with the girls, then dressed that same outfit down with a bomber jacket, studded boots and hoops for weekend errand runs!

How to Rock Heels While Preggers

When you are preggers and your center of gravity is thrown off as you adjust to new weight distribution, it is probably wise to avoid high heel shoes. They are hazards and dangerous to the life you are incubating if heaven’s forbid, you were to trip and fall.

The risk is higher when you’re expecting. This is true even if you are not partial to dizzy spells or the like.

So what is a fashionable gal who doesn’t really “do” tennis shoes or flats to do? You can go with the next best thing low kitten heels or low wedges.  Don’t fret, kitten heels have come a long way in fashion history and you can find a wide assortment in various price points at shoe stores and department stores. You can get great deals on designer and name brand shoes from discount outlets like Simms, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Ross and Burlington Coat Factory if you have those stores where you live.

Online is your next best thing.

Stores like Zappos and Overstock.com have awesome deals. I’ve curated some of the hot shoes I spotted surfing my partner’s at Shopstyle‘s pages.  Personally, although I am not preggers, I can’t handle high heel shoes like I used to but I prefer the height boost that comes from wearing heels.

Celeb Weekend Looks We’re Digging Right Now!

Celebs dress up for red carpets, premieres, and Tv appearances and on weekends, while running errands and traveling, they  get to dress down.

But because they’re always being photographed, they don’t have the luxury of looking bad even on their days off.

Case in point: Chrissy Teigen, Gisele Bundchen and Halle Berry always look fab.

This week is no different.

Teigen was chic in denim, wearing an Alexander Wang jacket and distressed cuffed Re/done jeans with a cute yellow Gucci t-shirt and matching monogram belt. The model accented her look with a cute pair of Saint Laurent shades, a Hermes purse, suede Balenciaga booties and Gold XIVKARATS hoops.

Gisele Bundchen rocked it in a rugged grey sweat shirt paired with cropped green Rosa Chá, Chanel shades, a Givenchy travel bag and a funky pair of black high tops by Golden Goose 

Berry looked fashionable in a long black and white leopard print Dolce and Gabbana over distressed grey denim jeans, black leather booties and a black blouse.

An Olive Green Birkin Is Khloe Kardashian’s Tummy Covering Object of Choice These Days

Khloe Kardashian has not announced that she is pregnant as she is rumored to be, carrying the first child of her and her NBA star husband Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But she is doing a fabulous job concealing her tummy area with her Vert Veronese Clemence Hermès Birkin while dressed in all black. The baby Kardashian sister has always worn black on black so it’s no different that she is keeping it low kin in oversized black sweatshirts and baggy clothes.

She’s been spotted at LAX a few times recently in all black and her olive green bag.

It certainly feeds into the reports that she is expecting.  Well we’ll know soon enough, right?! In the meantime, you can cop her green birkin, and fave of choice for the moment for a cool $7-10K! I mean if you have that laying around! Here ya go:

How to Dress Your Bump for Thanksgiving by Trimester

This Thanksgiving, depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy, you’re going to have to dress your bump for dinner appropriately. We have some style suggestions of looks to consider or inspire you as your plant your outfit for family gatherings this holiday weekend.

For the first trimester, you should go with an A-line blouse or collared shirt under a cropped sweater or jacket to draw the eye away from the tummy area if you are still not telling others. You may not be in maternity jeans  yet so wearing a top that covers the zipper area will allow you to leave it unbuttoned. Accessorize it with a cute tote and some fun pumps in classic colors fall colors like wine, navy, deep orange.

For a second trimester look, I take my inspiration from Kileen of Cute and Little blog. Go with a bump-hugging shirt dress like the Arran dress by Isabella Oliver. Throw over that a lightweight blazer. Add light jewelry and make up and top it off with a pair of low heeled pumps and a shopper bag.



 Another second trimester casual look I adore comes from Suzanne from My Kind of Sweet fashion blog. I like how she kept it simple with a shirt dress underneath a denim shirt that she tied above the bump. A pair of grey booties complimented the outfit perfectly.

If you’re in your final trimester, you’re getting close to delivery and style and fashion may be the furthest things from your mind. Keep it simple with a comfy maternity dress under a duster jacket  like this:

Red Carpet AMA Trends: Black, Velour and Pink!

I’ve missed a few red carpet coverage because…life but I was quite excited about what I saw this week at the American Music Awards, held at the Microsoft Theater on November 19, 2017 in Los Angeles, California….A lot of pink and black, but not together!

Speaking of P!nk, she and our other Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kelly Clarkson performed together.

Not a mom but a blog fave, Tracee Ellis Ross killed it as host and the tribute to her mom Diana Ross who took home the Lifetime Achievement Award was all that and a bag of chips! (Do the kids still use that phrase?)

In the mix was her daughter in law Ashlee Simpson Ross, whose husband is Evan Ross, the baby boy of the Ross family.  their daughter Jagger Snow stole the show! Ashlee wore a Christian Siriano dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Neil Lane jewelry.

She was part of the sequins in black trim along with Clarkson who also went bold and brave in a velour and gold gown hugging her gorgeous hour glass figure. I’m loving her sleek blunt parted ombre hair too.

Kelly Rowland too did black with floral in a interesting long split Galia Lahav dress  with sheer sleeves, fresh off witnessing Serena Williams‘ nuptials in New Orleans last Thursday. Her good friend Ciara went a bit S&M in an asymmetric black leather coat dress by Alexandre Vauthier haute couture and thigh high boots with wet look hair. Nicole Kidman played in safe in Black as well but looked stunning as usual in an Olivier Theyskens dress, Giuseppe Zanotti boots, a Versace bag, Fred Leighton jewels, and an Omega watch

Opting for the lighter part of the spectrum was Heidi Klum in a pink and gold slip dress with a deep v plunging neckline which is in a vintage Gianni Versace from Morphew, accented with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

Mom-to-be country singer Jessie James Decker did a shade of pink too in a bump hugging off-the-shoulder dress, a shade of pink. Speaking of P!nk, she too went with the color of her name in a hot pink and tulle  Monique Lhullier dress and her signature pink hair.  Jenna Dewan-Tatum in gold and looked hot as usual in a beautiful Julien MacDonald gown, John Hardy jewels, and Giuseppe Zanotti  strappy sandals.

Congrats to our alums Shakira for winning Favorite Latin artist and Carrie Underwood for winning Favorite Female Country Artist. 

One of the first celebrities we ever bump watched, Christina Aquilera brought the house down in a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Kevin Costner, Whitney Houston film, The Bodyguard singing “I Will Always Love You”, “I Have Nothing” and “Run to You” and “I’m Every Woman”. She killed it in my book! Did all the songs justice and Whitney with her voice, range and power! Wow!
