Adele Did the Universal ‘Pregnant Woman Belly Cup’ and Sent the Internet Crazy!

Yesterday, Adele did the universal subconscious hand over belly cupping that pregnant women do without even thinking, but only she did it in a photo that she posted on her Instagram account. You know what that means?

She triggered the bump watch brigade as speculation among her fans and followers immediately swarmed in social media that the 28-year old singer-songwriter is expecting her second child with husband Simon Konecki.

Recall that at the end of her North America tour, the multi-Grammy Award winner told the farewell tour audience that she was going to go have a baby, indicating that she will take her time off from touring to grow her family.

We know this may be a false alarm, but there have been several incidences in the past when a celebrity may have been pregnant at a time she was photographed cupping her belly but had not made any big public announcement confirming such news. Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez come to mind. (see above and actually Carey later miscarried, we believe)

We have blogged often about the “Bump Watch Speculation” which happens when a celeb woman has overindulged in a meal and is photographed by the paparazzi emerging from a restaurant, wears a dress with an unnatural bubble in it or gains a few pounds that show up in the belly area.  She is immediately presumed to be with child.

It could be nothing. Time will tell. We’ll be waiting. Stay tuned. (smile)

Adele Expounds On her Post Partum Depression During Grammy Acceptance Speech

During an award acceptance speech at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, singer/songwriter Adele gave new insight on the post partum depression she struggled with after giving birth to her now 4-year old son, Angelo.

The multiple-Grammy winning artist had previously shared during a candid interview with Vanity Fair magazine last October that she suffered from the condition though didn’t know what she was going through.

“I had really bad postpartum depression after I had my son, and it frightened me,” she told the interviewer, adding that in lieu of taking medication or talking with a professional to help her cope, she took consult from other moms.

At Sunday’s show, she recounted becoming pregnant after her last album 21 and how the experience and  having PPD made her feel disconnected from the world and all the things she knew as normal.

She credited her team for helping her bound back.

“As you can see it took an army to make me strong and willing again to do it. And I thank you all from the bottom of my heart,”

“And in my pregnancy and becoming a mother I lost a lot of myself and I’ve struggled and I still do struggle being a mum,” the platinum-selling artist said. “It’s really hard. But tonight winning this really feels full circle and like a bit of me has come back to myself.”

She also gave credit to her “husband” Simon Konecki for being her inspiration. It was the first time she had confirmed that she had gotten married.

“Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son — you’re the only reason I do it,” she said while accepting the award for Album of the Year.

She and Konecki  have been together for five years  and were introduced to one another by fellow British singer Ed Sheeran.

Before, in the Vanity Fair, piece, she talked about how then-boyfriend encouraged her to get out of her funk and to get help.

“My boyfriend said I should talk to other women who were pregnant, and I said, ‘Fk that, I ain’t hanging around with a fking bunch of mothers (sic)’,” she tells the publication. “Then, without realising it, I was gravitating towards pregnant women and other women with children, because I found they’re a bit more patient. You’ll be talking to someone, but you’re not really listening, because you’re so f**king tired.”

But while her non-mom friends didn’t get it, her friends with kids totally did.

“My friends who didn’t have kids would get annoyed with me,” she continues. “Whereas I knew I could just sit there and chat absolute mush with my friends who had children, and we wouldn’t judge each other. One day I said to a friend, ‘I fking hate this,’ and she just burst into tears and said, ‘I fking hate this, too.’ And it was done. It lifted.”

She added that she had a tough time self-diagnosing her condition because she wasn’t educated as to what it is.

“My knowledge of postpartum-or post-natal, as we call it in England, is that you don’t want to be with your child; you’re worried you might hurt your child; you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job,” she explains. “But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life… It can come in many different forms.”

She confided that spending time alone helped.

“I just said, I’m going to give myself an afternoon a week, just to do whatever the f**k I want without my baby,” she says. “A friend of mine said, ‘Really? Don’t you feel bad?’ I said, ‘I do, but not as bad as I’d feel if I didn’t do it.’ Four of my friends felt the same way I did, and everyone was too embarrassed to talk about it;

At the end of the North America leg of her tour, Adele announced plans to try to get pregnant again, and is “off to have a baby.”

“I’ll see you on the other side,” she told fans in Phoenix. “In a couple of years I’ll be back [to the States]. You won’t be able to get rid of me.”

While she’s enjoyed spending a few months at home with her family, Adele will soon be headed back to work. She’s kicking off the next leg of her world tour in Australia and New Zealand later this month.

Queens Beyonce and Adele Rule the Grammy Awards Already (PHOTOS)

Tonight is the 59th annual Grammy Awards at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California and it kicked off brilliantly with our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum, Adele, singing her hit song, “Hello“.

The singer-songwriter has already won two awards during the early presentations that went on before the prime time TV airing.

Adele nabbed the award for “Pop Solo Performance”  for “Hello” and “Pop Vocal Album”  for her album “25”.

Meanwhile, Beyonce won for Best Video for “Formation” — Beyoncé.

It will be a battle between the two Queens because going into the evening, Beyonce led the leader board with nine nominations (followed hi Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West with eight nominations each)

Adele’s 25 earned five, including Record of the Year.

Another one of our alums, Carrie Underwood, performed “The Fighter” with Keith Urban.

On the red carpet, Adele looked fab in a green custom Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Underwood was a stunner in an Elie Madi dress, Nigaam and EFFY jewels, and Jimmy Choo heels.

Keep watching! It’s getting better!

Beyonce Will Join This Growing List of Celebrities with Twins

Another celebrity diva is expecting twins! Beyonce announced on her Instagram page today  that she and her husband Jay-Z are expecting twins. She posted an artistic photo of herself in bra and undies wearing a veil sitting in a bed of flowers and roses.

She joins fellow singing diva Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez in twin motherhood and others like WNBA player Glory Johnson; celebrity spouses (or ex) Adrienne Bosh, Kayte Grammar, Kim Porter; Actresses Angelina Jolie,  Geena Davis, Anna PaquinDaya Vaidya, Garcelle Beauvais, Molly Ringwald, Mo’Nique, Sherri Saum, Holly Robinson-Peete, Rebecca Romijn,  Marcia Cross, Lisa Marie Presley, including via surrogates as with Sarah Jessica ParkerAngela Basset, Julie Bowen, Neil Patrick HarrisRicky Martin, among others.

“We would like to share our love and happiness,” the 20-time Grammy winner captioned the baby bump photo which has been shared 2M times as of this posting. “We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”

Also, there is something about Grammy Awards  when it comes to Beyonce announcing a pregnancy. She shared the news of her pregnancy with her first child, Blue Ivy following a performance in 2011 (arguably starting the red carpet reveal trend) and today, a couple weeks before the Grammy’s, here she is again to with baby news.

For the most part, the singer-songwriter has kept a lay profile for a while now since wrapping up her world tour last year. [side bar: I was just thinking about how Adele ended her tour by announcing she would be off to try to get pregnant again]

There has been a lot of speculation about a second child for several years now. And also, for the record, this is her third pregnancy.  In 2013, the multi-platinum selling artist revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage prior to the arrival of her daughter.

“About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time,” she revealed in a self-produced HBO documentary. “And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.

“I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like. I was feeling very maternal.

“I flew back to New York to get my check up – and no heartbeat. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.

“I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I’ve ever written in my life. And it was actually the first song I wrote for my album. And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.”

I am excited for her and Blue Ivy, her daughter with Jay-Z. I am also looking forward to the bump watch and checking out what she will wear to this year’s Grammy red carpet on February 12.

This news comes the same week we learned about Pharrell Williams‘ triplets.

Multiples are the new singleton.  lol

Adele Just Announced That She’s Having Another Baby

Um… did Adele just low key make a pregnancy announcement before millions of people on Monday during a tour stop?

Maybe. The singer-songwriter phenom told a concert crowd in Phoenix on November 21 as she ended the show amidst a shower of confetti, she shouted into the mic ” “I’m going to have another baby!”

What!?! Really!!!

Then she told them she’ll  see them in a few years. Oh?

We are not sure if she is already pregnant or plans to begin the process of conceiving after she wrapped the North American leg of her international tour which launched this past July 2016. She has 8 more international dates in Australia, according to a concert website.

Recall, in 2010, when she was preggers with her first child, now 4-year old son Angelo James, with partner Simon Konecki, she never revealed that she was expecting until she was well into her second trimester.

She stayed away from the spotlight for 4 years until returning to music in 2015. She has said that she would give up touring so she doesn’t miss a day of her son’s growing up and life. Rumors have it [pun intended] that she is considering a residency in Las Vegas which would permit her to tour but stay in one place.

Roberto Cavalli agrees with us: Kate Middleton isn’t the most fashionable any longer

See I’m not the only one. Roberto Cavalli joined  author Joan Alison and acclaimed author Hilary Mantel who have all called Kate Middleton‘s dressing style plain and bland.
“A princess should be sexy,” the designer famous for his animal prints told Vogue UK in a recent interview.   “She is young, she is beautiful-I would like to create something special for her, but nothing too bold. I would like to prove to the world that Roberto Cavalli can dress a princess. Maybe I would use a print, keeping it young, sophisticated and sexy. Just because you are a queen or princess it doesn’t mean you can’t be sexy.”
It reads like the couture designer who caught flak for openly criticizing singing phenom Adele‘s style just wants a chance to dress the princess. I’d say slamming her in the press isn’t the way to to that but I’m still glad to see he agrees with me.
The Duchess of Cambridge sticks to pretty simple conservative A-line dresses, comfortable pumps, mainstream colors, and traditional materials and patterns, usually under a structured blazer or formal coat.  Her wardrobe is tasteful, very cute and flatters her shape and figure well, but there is hardly any risk-taking or playful experimentation with trends, and accessories like belts, necklaces, chains, belts, shoes, clutches, scarves at all. It wasn’t always that way…
Kate’s more riskier fashion before becoming a Princess
I suppose it’s keeping with what a “Royal” should wear.  However, she had more versatile looks before becoming a royal like here:
But everyone’s dressing style matures and changes as they age, and if it is her current taste and preference to be more conservative in dress, so be it. That is her prerogative and she has the right to wear what she wants and feels comfortable in, of course. But to all these surveys and entities crowning her “most Fashionably” dressed celebrity or best dressed pregnant woman, I say “get outta here! Not anymore, anyway.”
Fashion is more than well put together color-coordinated outfits. Without risks, it is just clothes!
Do you agree?

Grammy Red Carpet: A-List moms glam it up (PHOTOS)

It’s award season and tonight at the 55th Grammy Awards presentation at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, we saw plenty of Bellyitch bumpwatch alums and at least one current mom-to-be.  Amber Rose looked amazing a bump hugging off the shoulder Donna Karan evening dress with black sandals. Her fiance Wiz Khalifa looked great in Tom Ford tux and accessories.
Here are some A-List moms who rocked the red carpet tonight.

New mom Adele abandoned her usual safe black pallette and went with a Valentino Couture dress in a colorful floral print. So nice to see her make a bold choice. The matching print shoes was a bit too much but she gets an A for stepping out of her comfort zone.

Blue Ivy‘s mom, Beyonce got the CBS memo telling women to not have side boob or too much skin. She dressed conservatively in Osman Studio Ju in black and white, the it color-combo for the season. She just did a simple pony tail and seemed to tone down her usual ornate and fabulous looks. It works well! Nice.

Egypt‘s mom Alicia Keys opted for a black  Azzedine Alaia  fishtail dress with criss-cross bodice in crocodile-pattern. It looks great on her

Jennifer Lopez was super hot in this Anthony Vaccarello dress. And she is totally pulling an Angeline Jolie with the super thigh high slit and exposing leg. It is a nice slap back at the no boob memo. Twins Max and Emme’s mom looks amazing!

2013 Golden Globes: 10 new moms radiate on red carpet

The Golden Globes are on and in full swing at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California. And on the red carpet moments before were some of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch newest moms, including Adele, above, who looked gorgeous and confident in a lacy Burberry dress and Cartier Jewels. Good for her for going with a British designer.  Adele gave birth to her son with Simon Konecki in October and has kept a low profile ever since. This show marks her first big public outing and she looks amazing, wouldn’t you say?
Congratulations to new mom Claire Danes who won for the Best Actress in a TV Series/ Drama!! She looked radiant in Versace and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.  She stuck with her signature smoky eyes that she wore during the Emmy Awards. Cute. I love that dress! The hair? meh.
Another new mother Megan Fox dazzled in a body hugging nude lace Dolce & Gabanna gown accented with Lorraine Schwartz earrings.  Smoking! I like how everyone wore their hair all old Hollywood deep wave swept to the side.
Other Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums looked fab on the red carpet too such as:

And Kate Hudson looked smoking hot in this Alexander McQueen dress. I love the cutout and think it looks edgy but still radiant. The hair looks a bit wispy and a mess and the consensus among my Facebook friends is that she should have worn it up and better coiffed.

And mom to one-year old Milo, Alyssa Milano, got plenty of face time during the broadcast of the show. She gives good face and looked gorg in her mustard colored Grecian drapery dress with turquoise jewels, and too much of it, that she could’ve left off. The earrings are too heavy for the weighty gown. And pick one: either the bracelet or ring. With that belt, the excessive other jewelry overwhelms the look. I don’t like that color clutch at all either. It’s too much of a contrast with the dress.
And Bones actress Emily Deschanel rocked it, I think, in a Badgley Mischka crepe gown and jewel crusted cuff. The mom to 1-year old Henry and is our celebrity vegan pregnancy spokes momma.

New mom Sienna Miller in Erden‘s Spring 2013 collection. Oh my?!?! What was she thinking. No words.
Heidi Klum usually looks well styled but I am not feeling this one shoulder Alexandre Vauthier  dress at all with the jeweled embellished collar. I love the chandelier earrings and the cuff jewels. The gold shoes are all wrong. The color not flattering. And overall, a little too heavy on the bling. And again, we see the deep waves to the side look which appeared to be the signature for these 70th Golden Globe Awards.

Not so new mom, but original Bellyitch alum from the site’s first year in 2007, Nicole Richie who looked totally old Hollywood in a Naeem Khan floor length number, paired with Brian Atwood heels and her very own House of Harlow 1960 Jude clutch. The Fashion Star  mentor accessorized her look with jewels from Arunashi, Sylva & Cie, Elahan and House of Harlow 1960.

She is channeling a Sophia Loren look here. I like but think it ages her a bit, even though it is cute.

And finally, show host Tina Fey, who became a new mom again recently to 1-year old Penelope Athena Richmond, looked sophisticated and smart in her black and white strapless L’Wren Scott dress, Fred Leighton jewels, Roger Vivier clutch and Salvatore Ferragamo pumps.

She and co-host and SNL and Baby Mama co-star Amy Poehler totally killed tonight! Congrats
Great looks overall, from our Bellyitch Alums! Keep it rockin’ mamas!
