NEW: Jay Z Drops Visually-Stimulating Celeb-Studded Futuristic Video for ‘Family Feud’ (PHOTOS and VIDEO)

If you follow this blog, you know I am a die-hard Beyonce, also a Jay and Bey fan and a fangirl of sci-fi and action movies so, I was quite geeked to immediately open up and peep the brand new video for Jay Z‘s song “Family Feud” off of his 444 album which melds all of my faves into one fantastical, visually-stimulating treat.

And I must say, the cinematography is on point….

All the Yeses to the Ava DuVernay-directed futuristic video which gives me “Black Panther” vibes, because it is set the year 2444 in a universe where Power‘s Omari Hardwick is the co-President of the Free World and is the direct descendant of the matriarch of a fantastical diverse group of women, dubbed the Fore-mothers, who re-configured the US Constitution in the year 2050 along with a pact called the “Confessional Papers”, per the prose in the video.

ETA: the director explained the video:

Westworld’s Irene Bedard plays a co-President

Yes to This is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson playing an adult Blue Ivy Carter who quotes her dad during that meeting saying “ Nobody wins when the family feuds,” a line from the song.

The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling heads the meeting

Yes to the union of leaders led by a character played  by a then-pregnant Mindy Kaling and featuring council members portrayed by ….

Claws‘ Neicy Nash, Angie Tribeca and Parks & Recreation‘s Rashida Jones, Room‘s Brie Larson, Marvel’s Luke Cage and The Defenders‘ star Rosario Dawson, trans advocate, journalist and and social commentator  Janet Mock, who are among the women who are tasked to lead the effort to set the world straight — as it should be because you know, given this “Me Too” era in the nation (and world), it really will take a small army of Women to do the job.

The Office’s Rashida Jones and Rosario Dawson, who stars in Marvel’s The Defenders, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage

Yes to the fictional president’s feuding for power family played by a Thandie Newton outfitted in a LeeLo from The Fifth Element-like bandage onesie  who fights with her brother played by Creed and Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan .

From People:

All the celebrities who made cameos shared behind-the-scenes photos from filming once the video was released exclusively on Tidal.

This is far from JAY-Z’s first video featuring some Hollywood heavyweights.

He previously dropped the Friends-inspired clip for “Moonlight” with Tessa Thompson, Tiffany Haddish, Jerrod Carmichael and Issa Rae as well as the Lupita Nyong’o-starring “MaNyfaCedGod” and “Adnis” starring Mahershala Ali.

JAY-Z’s 18th studio album, 4:44, recently received eight Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album.

When Matthew Knowles Hinted Beyonce Is Due and Pics (PHOTOS)

When asked to satisfy the curiosity of the Beyhive, Matthew Knowles told TMZ that his daughter Beyonce is due more than two weeks from now.

Pregnant Beyoncé celebrated her last Mother’s Day as a mother of one by wearing matching designer gowns with 5-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.

The twin mama-to-be, 35, shared new photos on Friday from her May 14 celebration on her website and Instagram.

Bey and Blue were decked out in tiered hydrangea-print chiffon dresses by Dolce & Gabbana. The pair’s designer ensembles featured cap sleeves with draped detailing, smocked frill-trim empire waist, tiered maxi skirt, and floor-sweeping hem. For a retail price of $5,395, you too can coordinate the same look as Bey and Blue.

Get Inspired by Beyonce’s Bold Statement Jewelry

bey bracelets

I love statement jewelry and my muse is our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Beyonce Knowles Carter.

Each outfit she wears is accented perfectly with just the right ring, bracelet, earcuff, bracelet, necklace or body jewelry to complete her look. I was most impressed with the exquisite unique pieces Blue Ivy‘s mom wore in the videos to her 2013 self-titled album.

bey rings
My fave was the Black Lynn Ban PVD Armor Ring that she wore as knuckle rings in the “Superpower” music video! They retail at $420 each so you’d be set back  over $3,000 to replicate the precise look on your hands. She also wore 16 of the designer’s  Pave Coil midi rings in the “Haunted” video. They are embedded with white diamonds and black diamonds which retail at about $3500 each   I think that vid helped bolster the midi ring craze that following Spring.

You can get a similar style for under $20 from Free People or Ily Couture. And you can find the bold statement rings she wore in the “Telephone” jewelry at mid price range from other jewelers.

Another coveted set of jewelry are the Edie Borgo wrist cuffs and ear cuffs Bey rocked in the “Jealous” video.

That was one of my fave tunes from that visual album. Can you tell I recently discovered that the videos were released to the public last November? This past weekend, I relived my enjoyment watching  them all again on a larger screen. I  first purchased the album back when it first came out and had to view the videos on my iPhone.

The other great thing I discovered was that the Edie Borgo pieces from that video all are in a mid-range price point under $150 so they’re totally affordable!

And when Bey‘s not killing the game in her edgier looks, Mrs. Carter steals the spotlight in her bright and vibrant pieces, like these colorful Aztec art necklaces paired with that fab Mayan-inspired ring in that photo on the right.

I was totally crushing on those eye-catching accessories and adornments.

Revisiting that album last weekend also reminded me of how much I really dug the complete layered jewels look in the “XO” video too. I curated and assembed some inspiration pieces from our partners at ShopStyle for you to consider getting or using as a guide for the next time you’re out jewelry shopping.

If you want to nab some of  these glam pieces of jewelry, you can be creative and check out arts and music festivals this Summer.  Those events that have vendors who are at-home jewelry makers. They typically sell interesting and one-of-a-kind selections, and usually you can find big bold selections as well.

Happy shopping fellow jewelry lovers!
