Halloween 2018: Superheroes Were Celeb Families’ Top Choice

Here are some additional amazing celebrity family Halloween costumes from this year that rocked! And one thing I’ve noticed while pulling this together using their respective Instagram photo shares is that the Super Heroes theme was the preferred costume.

On top of that list, about 4 families did the Incredibles this years. In years past, Mariah Carey and The Baldwins among other families had gone with that group costume option. Here is a quick run down of other fabulous costumes including some amazing over-the top ones that are not super heroes but are from popular movies and other pop culture figures.

Adrienne and Chris Bosh and family as The Incredibles

Fergie and her son Axl were are super heroes Power Rangers

Kevin Hart and family as Minions

Wonder Woman Tamar Braxton and her son Logan as Batman

Kandi Burruss and family also as Super heroes

Vanessa Lachey and her kids were also The Incredibles.

Singer Melanie Fiona and her family were also The Incredibles

And finally so was Cyn Santanna and fam

Monica Brown and her family are usually on the top 5 list when it comes to Halloween costumes and so to no surprise her daughter Laiyah Brown‘s Edward Scissorhands is amazing@

No doubt Ayesha Curry as Snow White and her 4-month old son Canon as a Dwarf were the cutest!

Not a family costume but here is Marcus Scribner as Erik Killmonger, Tracee Ellis Ross as Nakia, and Anthony Anderson as T’Challa from Black Panther

More Superheroes from Tia Mowry, Cory Hardrict and family

Her sister Tamera Mowry-Housley and her daughter were lady bugs with husband Adam Housley as a cave man and their son Aden a dinosaur.

Gisele Bundchen and her daughter were unicorns.

As was Jessica Alba and her daughter while her hubby Cash Warren and their other kids were giraffes.

Toya Wright was Cruella DeVille and her daughter a dalmatian

Lisa Ling and her daughter Jett were mermaids

Ray J and wife Princess Love and their daughter were Holy figures, a priest, Nun and angel.

Hoda Kotb and her daughter were bumble bees.

Tia Mowry On Motherhood After 40: No Time For Mess

Life just keeps getting better for Tia Mowry.

In addition to being a proud mom to two kids with husband Cory Hardrict, the Hollywood actress celebrated a major birthday last month.

How does it feel turning 40 in Hollywood? Not bad at all according to the Sister, Sister star.

“I’m just going to be really honest with you. Now that I’m 40, I don’t have time for mess anymore,” she shared with E! News’ Justin Sylvester exclusively. “I know what I want. I know what I’m going after. I have a small group of friends because when you’re younger, it’s all about popularity but that doesn’t matter for me now. It’s about quality vs. quantity.”

Tia continued, “I feel happy in my skin. I feel confident and I feel like as you get older, you learn more about who you are and you embrace who you are and just go with the flow of life and go with the punches.”

That’s not to say going from one to two kids is a walk in the park. While supporting her partnership with Office Depot, Tia was quick to admit that it’s been an adjustment ever since her daughter Cairo Tiahna arrived in May.

“You know what I’m doing? Usually, I would say with just one kid, I’m taking one day at a time. But with two kids, I’m taking two steps at a time. I’m only looking as far as my two feet can go,” she confessed. “I can’t get so far ahead of myself or I’ll get really, really overwhelmed. But you know what they say? It’s harder to go from one to two as opposed to two to three but now I get it.”

For the time being, Tia is focused on getting her seven-year-old son Cree Taylor  ready for school again. In just a matter of weeks, he’ll be entering second grade with plenty of the best school supplies from Office Depot.

“It’s all about making back to school fun and entertaining and hopefully that will translate into them making learning fun,” Tia explained to us while showcasing some of her favorite items from the store.

And in between getting ready for the school bell to ring, Tia is reminding fellow moms that there’s no rush to get back into your best shape after kids.

Instead of running to the gym after her daughter’s May arrival, Tia has learned to simply go at your own pace.

“I’m just taking my time and I’m also allowing women out there that you don’t necessarily have to go back to yourself right away. It took you almost 10 months or a year to grow a baby. And it’s going to take time for you to get back to yourself,” she shared. “Do I think it’s important to get back to yourself? Yes, I think it’s very important to get back to feeling great, get back to feeling like you were before having a baby but I’m not so fixated on having my abs back and all that kind of stuff. I’m just taking my time.”

Kylie Jenner joins Long List of Celebs Who Don’t Show Their Babies Faces Online; Here’s Why

I saw a few reports about how makeup mogul and reality TV star Kylie Jenner has selected to stop showing her daughter Stormi’s face on social media after a few mean trolls left nasty comments about the infant.

As Celebrity Baby Scoop reported, “fans noticed that Stormi’s face was hidden and one follower, in particular, noted that she had ‘cut her baby out’, Jenner replied, ‘Yeah I cut my baby out. I’m not sharing photos of my girl right now.'”

Reportedly, she was excited to share her baby with the world but has had to retreat amidst the mean trolls, and her beau and Stormi’s dad Travis Scott is doing the same, only showing her tiny Nikes in a recent Snap Story.

I cannot say I blame her. One of this blog’s most viewed post is about Aoki Lee, the brilliant daughter of Russell Simmons and our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kimora Lee Simmons, who avoids posting photos of her face on her own Instagram page, and how I believe it stems from nasty comments from the public about her looks.

The harsh critique from the public probably explains why Beyonce famously shielded her daughter Blue Ivy‘s face when she shared photos of her during her infancy to toddler years, and Kelly Rowland for the first year of her son’s life as well.

If you follow actress Zoe Saldana‘s social media, you will see that she was telling t to share a photo of her twin boys, Cy and Bowie and their baby brother either but has recently.

Over the pond, singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes features many snaps of her daughters on Instagram but none of her face.

Another one of this blog’s bumpwatch alums Keisha Knight-Pulliam also refuses to show her daughter Ella Grace’s face on social media.

Then there are the other extremes who don’t show their children’s faces at all, like Kerry Washington, Eva Mendes, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively until recently.

The fans demand it, and many fuss about being denied the chance to gawk at their babies, as if it their right like these who commented under one of Knight-Pulliam’s pics.

And those who do share like Tia Mowry and Solange Knowles have found themselves having to snap back and put mean trolls in their place who called both their sons ugly, as recently as a few years ago.

These reactions prove why it is not a bad idea to keep something private.

Ciara Introduces Sienna Princes After Shielding Daughter’s Face From Public For Almost a Year

At a time and era when several celebrities successfully purposefully shield their babies’ faces from the media, pop singer Ciara has decided to share her daughter’s for the first time in a new app.

On Thursday, the Body Party singer introduced her daughter with NFL quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks on the app called TraceMe.

“I’m so excited to be opening up my world to you on TraceMe,” Ciara told fans who follow her on the app. “You guys know that I tend to be private with a lot of things, but with TraceMe I can have a genuine, unfiltered connection with you all.”

It also bucks the older tradition of having a big reveal on a magazine for millions of dollars given at one time, celebrities took home million+ dollar paydays for sharing their baby’s first photos.

Gone are those days because with the advent of social media, a lot of celebs are sharing their babies first pics with their fans directly, though not all.

Zoe Saldana, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland for the first year, Brit Rochelle Humes  and others didn’t open their children up to public scrutiny. Today, Keisha Knight-Pulliam still keeps her daughter Grace’s face from her social media feed.

We never have seen Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children and most likely will never see them either. Given all the ridicule and shaming celebs like Tia Mowry received over her son, and Kimora Lee Simmons’ daughter Aoki Lee, we can see why.

Ciara explained why she chose to reveal.

“My motivation for this was to give back for all of your support throughout the years,” she explained. “We now have a special place where you can get to know more about me, and see all the fun things that go on with my music, my family, my fashion and so much more.”

The model and dancer has a 3 1/2 year old son named  Future Zahir Wilburn with her ex fiance hip hop performer Future.

Expecting Celebs Are Rocking Braids Protective Hair Style

I’ve long believed that braided hairstyles are the best style to wear for your last trimester of pregnancy leading up to labor and delivery and shortly thereafter.

Why? The style requires very little maintenance after installed and can be kept in for a longer while. Once a silk head wrap is worn at night, the style remains neat without having to be loosened, washed and re-braided daily.

That’s great when you’re too busy nesting, adjusting to the aches and pains of preparing for birth and thereafter when your time is consumed with caring for your newborn.

Several of the celeb women we follow who are currently pregnant have been wearing braided protective style of late: Tia Mowry and Toya Wright are going with cornrows and Eva Marcille is rocking faux locs.

Its been a while but the locs are coming back!!! Gotta love protective styles??

We Can’t Believe How Big These Kids of Celebs Have Gotten!

You know you’re getting older when you see some your kids’ friends on Facebook and social media celebrating a birthday and you think, “my where has the time gone?” or “boy have those kids gotten big!

I think the same can be said of a few of the celeb parents we’ve followed when they first had children compared to now.

There’s Chris Tucker and his son Destin is 19 and is a spitting image of his famous comedian dad.

Demi Moore and her three daughters are are now 23 (Tallulah), 25 (Scout) and 28 (Rumer)! wow!

Kobi Bryant’s daughters are 14 (Natalia), 11, (Gianna) and 8 months (baby Bianka), seen with mom Vanessa.

Madonna‘s son David is and daughter Mercy are both now 11-years old.

Mel B stepped out with her daughters 10-year old Angel and 5-year old Madison earlier in the Spring and I didn’t realize they had grown so much.

Russell Simmons‘ daughters, almost 15-year old Aoki and 17-year old Ming stepped out at a charity event looking so adult as they did with their mom and half brothers 8-year old Kenzo (with Djimon Honsou) and 2-year old Wolfe Lee (with hubby Tim Leissner)

Kelly Ripa has a 19-year old!! Her son Michaeal and also a 15-year-old daughter Lola, and 13-year-old son Joaquin with hubby Mark Consuelos.

Nia Long  took her 16-year old son  Massai Zhivago Dorsey II on a humanitarian trip to Africa. Look how much taller he is than she is!

Reese Witherspoon’s kids with Ryan Phillipe , Ava are 14 and 17 -year old, respectively.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s son Trey (with Will’s ex Sheree Zampani) is 24!

Down to the younger ones who have grown up is Tia Mowry whose son Cree is now 6.

Finally, Jennifer Hudson’s son David Otunga, Jr. is almost 8-years old. His birthday is today! Happy Birthday, David Jr!
