SORRY FOR THE POST DELAY TODAY. BLOGGER WAS DOWN. WE WANT TO BE LOYAL, BUT WE HAD AN ITCHY FINGER ON “THE NAVIGATE TO WORDPRESS” BUTTON. WE’RE ALL GOOD NOW.
Families who are trying to live an earth-friendly lifestyle, recycle, avoid products and services that erode and corrode mother earth, and consider themselves Eco-friendly usually also use environmentally friendly cleaning products. I have tried to in the past, but I am accustomed to toxic ones. For some reason, I equate “clean” with the scent of amonia and other harsh chemicals.
That is the experience I had when I had my first Eco-friendly house cleaning service this week. I cashed in a great coupon deal I got from GroupOn or LivingSocial or Daily Deal or one of those daily deal programs. I did NOT want to commit to paying full price. In the end, the ladies did a great job and used a machine that was like a clean vac. The air felt fresh and certainly all the dirt and grime were picked up and cleaned away. There was no polishing though because I guess, most polishes have abrasive elements that are NOT earth friendly. *shrug*
In the end, I was satisfied, would use the service again and recommend it to others. I must confess. I had to resist the urge to go behind the workers and Pledge and polish everything. *sigh*
1800Recyling.com has 3 Reasons to Consider an environmentally-friendly house cleaning service:
- The products they use are better for the environment. Many standard cleaning products contain high levels of phosphates and volatile organic compounds, which can contribute to air pollution, plus any number of other chemicals that can pollute water supplies. High-quality green cleaning products do not contain these chemicals. Some green cleaning services even use homemade cleaning products made out of vinegar and other natural substances.
- Keeping harsh chemicals out of your home is safer for your family and pets. Some of the same substances in cleaning products that can pollute the earth also have the potential to irritate the eyes, lungs and skin (think chlorine, ammonia and heavy metals). Such substances can be particularly harmful to small children and pets.
- Employees of green cleaning services aren’t put in danger by having to breathe or touch chemicals. Supporting house cleaning companies that use natural products keeps them in business, which in turn allows them to hire more housecleaners who may have otherwise had to clean with chemicals day in and day out — a potentially dangerous situation.
If you are thinking about it, I recommend checking out one of these group deal discount sites like GroupOn to see if any of the home cleaning services that do this service have offers coming up. Traditionally, the eco-friendly services cost more. Sign up for these sites and keep your eyes and ears peeled. when I perused a couple of these sites, I found several deals had been offered in the past!
ToMuse has an EXCELLENT AND COMPREHENSIVE LISTING in a recent post of almost all of them. Good Luck!
