There is nothing sweeter than sharing the wonder of the Christmas season for the first time with your child. Whether your baby is a newborn or almost a year, the first Christmas is a magical time for parents, grandparents, and all who love your child.
My oldest daughter was only two weeks old for her first Christmas, but don’t think that kept us from letting her participate in the magic of the season. We laid her gently beside her beautifully wrapped gifts and snapped a picture, unwrapped the treasures for her and then laid her beside them for another picture!
Looking back on those photographs takes us back to the excitement of sharing that first holiday with our newest addition.
My son was nine months old for his first Christmas and this was hands down the most fun time for us all. His delight at the crinkling of the paper, the twinkling of the lights, and the music- oh the music! I think he danced all the way through December! He was not very interested in the gifts inside the wrapping as he was with the tearing of the paper and the eating of the boxes.
My youngest daughter will be 7 months old this Christmas and we are beyond excited to share this exciting time in her life and in ours as well. We anticipate the wonder in her eyes as she experiences the new sights, sounds, tastes, and smells that are Christmas. As we prepare for the exciting time, we look forward to the memories that are sure to be made and savor this precious time in her life. Charge up the camera and enjoy the magic of the season through the eyes of a child experiencing it for the very first time. Merry Christmas!
