|Kristy Gaffney claims an online date tricked her out of their child they had together|
A Pennsylvania woman had to fight to get her baby back from a man she met in an online dating site, according to an article in NBC‘s Today.com
Kristy Gaffney of Pymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania met a guy, Emmitt Dippold, who told her his name was Ed Dupont. It turned out he was recently married but she said she did not know that fact.
After dating a while, the couple go pregnant. Gaffney said Dippold first asked her to get an abortion and then later accepted her decision to keep the baby.
She later alleged that at one point he stuffed papers under her nose and told her she needed to sign them to make sure he had his parental rights. She didn’t read or understand the language. They were adoption papers!
Then one day, after a routine visit, Dippold refused to return the baby referencing the adoption papers Gaffney had signed.
He and his new wife were going to raise the baby as their own. The couple had struggled to conceive a baby together.
A judge eventually overturned the adoption papers based on fraud. The Dippolds are appealing the decision.
