|Lisa Dolan of TLC’s Big Brooklyn Style|
Fashion mavens, there is a new stylist on the reality TV block and she is aimed and determined at helping bodacious, curvy and stylish fashionistas and fashion divas-in-training look their absolutely best.
On TLC’s Big Brooklyn Style you’ll see Lisa Dolan, who owns the unique Lee Lee’s Valise in Brooklyn, New York, take over our television sets each Tuesday at 3pm ET as she works her magic and treats her clients and viewers with tips and guidance for getting that put together and trendy look for the typical non-size zero woman out there.
Lisa offers her clientele the latest fashions and trends that fit their body and encourages them to feel great in their own skin. Fortunately for you Bellyitch readers, Lisa also knows how to help that brand new mom stay confident and hip as she cares for her new bundle of joy and maybe work her way back down to her pre-pregnancy size.
Below, Lisa offers some sage advice and tips to get them through those first few months post-partum:
At Lee Lee’s Valise we love when a new mom walks in the door. Not only do I get to play with the baby but I can help this new mom get a new look so she has one less thing to worry about. She has a new body and we need to help her reclaim her sense of style!
Here are a few slim dressing tips for new moms!
- Invest in the breasts! Go for a professional bra fitting. A proper bra will give you a better shape as well as a smaller waist! Your breasts will feel lighter and make you stand tall.
- Maxi to the Rescue! It is simple and easy and allows you to keep your focus on the new baby. Look for one with an empire waist that just skims the body…don’t add volume. Keep the length at your ankle. No need to trip over your dress. Add a cute sandal and a cropped jacket or cardigan to complete the look.
- Get your belt on! Your waist has been missing for months its time you find it again. Adding a belt screams waist. It’s a quick and easy way to define the smallest part of your body. Using a belt over a tunic or dress will create an hourglass shape. It turns down the volume!
- Print this! Bold and vibrant prints will not only make you feel alive in the morning but they keep the eye moving through the day. You can always tone it down by layering. Simply add a solid color cardigan into the mix.
