One can never have enough reminders or tips on keeping the family free from the Flu this season! Thanks to the folks at Clorox for sending us over some tips to avoid catching and spreading the Flu:
- Get Vaccinated: Vaccination is the first step in flu prevention. However, even after getting vaccinated, you should also follow simple steps to help prevent the spread of the flu virus – and other potentially harmful bacteria and viruses – in the office and at home.
- Wash Hands Frequently: Wash hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds (the time it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice).
- Do the Elbow Cough: Cough and sneeze into your elbow instead of your hands to help prevent the spread of germs by touch.
- Follow Good Health Guidelines: Eat right, exercise and get plenty of sleep to help boost your body’s ability to fight the effects of colds and flu.
Clorox has also teamed up with Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Tia Mowry who is helping her 1-year old son Cree stave off the flu by disinfecting frequently touched surfaces around their home, like doorknobs, light switches and faucets.
I just purchased several tubs of Clorox sprays and wipes like those Clorox Disinfecting wipes that Mowry is using in the photo above.
Just in time for Halloween, in collaboration with the Visiting Nurse Associations of America and Families Fighting Flu, The Clorox Company has created a Say “Boo!” to the Flu pledge and campaign which you can check out here: www.SayBooToTheFlu.com
Having just gotten over the flu myself, I am starting to actively wipe down all surfaces in my home and “lysoling” [is that a word?] like crazy! You should too!
