Turbans were all the rage a couple years ago when the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Salma Hayek were spotted at events in turbans. Some women wear head ties on their heads for practical reasons such as to keep their recently styled hair wrapped away and carefully coiffed until it is ready to be unveiled at a fancy event. But you can also throw on a glamorous wrap and make it a fashion statement as Tyra Banks has done in the past.
And in recent months, since New York Fashion week, more celebrities have been seen out at events in their wraps and turbans.

Some, like current Bellyitch Bumpwatch Babe Amber Rose, have worn wraps paired with a dress or outfit reminiscent of the 1940s or Cuba circa 1950 a la the late Portuguese-Brazilian beauty Carmen Miranda.
Whatever or whoever the inspiration, turbans and headwraps could make a great alternative to actually doing up your hair if you are pregnant.

That is if you are comfortable raising your hands above your head to fix it on your hair given that long-standing old-wives tale. It says if a pregnant woman raises her hand above her head, she could unknowingly wrap the baby’s umbilical cord around its head. Totally false, by the way.
