Viola Davis’ Daughter Won Halloween with Her Tribute to Mom Costume

Cuteness alert!

Viola Davis‘ daughter Genesis Tennon decided for Halloween to dress as her mom accepting her Emmy Award this year for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her role as Annalise Keating on How to Get Away With Murder.

“So…..the Elsa costume? Didn’t work for her,” Davis wrote on Facebook on Saturday. “The Pirate? A no go. So she finally said, ‘I just want to be YOU mommy’! So… uhh…..this is ME.”

So adorbs and inspiring! When the film actress nabbed the award, she became the first African American woman in history to collect the honor. Wow, right? It’s 2015.

Davis is also a hero for the natural hair movement among Afro-wearing population of women and young girls across the African diaspora.

I’m included! About a month ago, I wrote a post in my hair blog about being Viola Davis which ended with me saying that the next person who asks me what’s going on with my hair when they see it worn out in its natural state, that I am going as Viola! Glad I’m in good company with those motivated by Davis.
