She’s graduated from simple fruits, veggies and cereals to stage 2 foods. Yup. the Girl is eating chicken and sweet potato and gnawing on steak. Yum. She took the transition easily. We give her Gerber’s organic and Earth Best Organic baby food which are made with no growth hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or potentially harmful pesticides and whole grains. So they say. If I had time, I’d love to make my own baby food. Alas *sigh* that is not an option for me given my crazy schedule. So this is the next best thing.
Since nothing compares to her breastmilk straight from the source, my GG is not too keen on drinking liquids from a bottle. Even after I switched from the very popular Avent bottle to Dr. Brown’s and Playtex, she just wasn’t/isn’t that interested. She’s annoyed the heck out of her babysitter because at 5pm on the dot, she starts to scream and cry nonstop until she either (a) falls asleep or (b) I arrive to nurse her after a hectic day working.
Alas, at 6 months old, GG is starting sippy cup training. The boys didnt get a sippy cup until one year so old girl here is a trailblazer.
GG is also digging her organic baby yogurt that Stonyfield Farms makes for babies. The Fruit and Cereal variety is her favorite.
Finally, these days GG is also thoroughly enjoying her Healthy Times Maple Biter Biscuit for Teethers. They are very hard and must feel good against her gums. Since three months I think, GG’s been drooling, a sign of teething. We don’t see any teeth buds there, but she sure is showing the signs. *grin* These things are wheat, soy, and dairy free so no worry about allergies.
in other GG news, at her 6 month visit, she finally got her 4 months vaccinations she couldn’t get because she was sick. I’m a bit concerned that there is still a hard lump on her thigh from the dose she got on her thighs. hmmmm. With all the talk about autism linked to vaccines, I was secretly happy that she’s behind schedule.
Wherever we go, people either tell me they think she is too big or too small for her age. I suppose it depends if they are seeing her round chubby face and cheeks peering through a child seat or if she’s resting on my hip or in my baby sling. Anyhoo, at her 6 month visit, they tell me she’s in the 80% for height and 50% for weight. So she is tall and average weight.
