Tamera Mowry-Housley Claps Back at Fans accusing her of Selling Her Baby’s First Photos

The Real co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley introduced her newborn daughter Ariah Taleah via Instagram Monday, but shortly after had to shut down trolls accusing her of selling out.

“This baby girl is enjoying the fact that when she’s up. Mommy is up,” Mowry-Housley captioned an adorable photo of her 7-week old newborn she shard on her Instagram “Happy Labor Day from Ariah.”

This is her and husband FOX News Correspondent Adam Housley‘s second child. They are parents to 2-year old son Aden.

Mowry-Housley also took the opportunity to  share that more photos could be found exclusively in PEOPLE magazine, on magazine racks now.

But just as soon as she revealed that news, her comments got littered with several people accusing the twin star of “selling out” and betraying fans by telling them she wanted to withhold photos for privacy reasons when the true reason was she was waiting for paid-for pics to be published.

For awhile now, her fans in social media have been begging for a glimpse of her baby.

Apparently frustrated by the slams, Mowry-Housley clapped back.

“People people people,” Mowry-Housley wrote in one of the comments under her photo. ” No one got PAID for these PICS!!! Respect my HONESTY AND MOVE ON!! My TRUE FANS would know that :)”

The TV host said she felt compelled to correct some of those who had been leaving messages questioning her intentions, honesty and integrity.

She tried to keep it classy though I know she wanted to lay into some of the commenters with harsher words.

“Be blessed, ” she continued. “I had to write something because you’re DEAD wrong. You know who you are. Blessings and much love to the people judging without the facts.”

Behind the scenes at the family shoot

The former reality TV show star of “Tia and Tamera” on the now-defunct a Style network kept it respectful.

“Wow. Some people never cease to amaze me.,” she continued. “But I love them anyways.”

Read em, Tamera! (Smile)

Not long ago, celebrities would sell first photos of their babies for millions of dollars but that practice and the first pic market has since dried up as most share first photos in social media and no longer to the highest bidder.

Beyoncé is well known for withholding her daughter Blue Ivy’s face from the public for over a year and Brit celeb Rochelle Humes too.

Nowadays, most make the first reveal in social media.

People really get invested in celebrity pregnancies and babies.

We think Mowry-Housley’s fans and some trolls are still fighting under pics right now. Ha!

Meanwhile, in the feature, the Tv star told PEOPLE that she has been having fun dressing her “mini-me” who she describe as having a very her calm temperament.

“I have so much fun with the clothes,” she tells PEOPLE. “There are so many more choices! But I try to balance it out — I have really, really girly clothes, and then I have clothes that are kind of neutral.”

Tamera Mowry-Housley on why braids are best for Labor, Delivery and New Motherhood

tamera mowry braids

The other half of our fave celeb mom twins, Tamera Mowry-Housley is now sporting long box braids.

The actress, who co-stars as a panelist on the daytime talk show The Real,  this past Wednesday, July  1 welcomed her second child, daughter Ariah Talea, with husband FOX news correspondent Adam Housley.

This week, she posted a photo of herself when she was still pregnant rocking the protective style which is commonly worn among ethnic women.

Many pregnant women get their hair in braids right before giving birth because they know it will be a low maintenance style that is great to wear during labor and delivery. And afterwards,  when a new mom is busy with a newborn, braids are a no-fuss style. Those reasons are among the 5 Tamera explained why she got some gorgeous long box braids.

They’re not as long as the super butt-length braids her sister Tia Mowry Hardrict rocked recently.

Tamera had her own individual take and they  look great!

Check out Tamera’s blog to see the five reasons she offers for rocking box braids right before and after giving birth HERE!

‘The Real’s Tamera Mowry-Housley welcomes daughter, Ariah Talea

tamera and fam

Congratulations to one half of our favorite celebrity twins Tamera Mowry-Housley who welcomed her second child, daughter Ariah Talea Housley on Wednesday.

Tamera and her husband Adam Housley  confirmed the news to PEOPLE magazine.

“We are beyond overjoyed and blessed with our beautiful baby girl. Aden already made a welcome video for her,” they shared with the site.

The new arrival has the same initials as her 2 1/2-year old brother: Aden Tanner Housley.

It’s similar to the tradition her parents had of giving all their children the same initials: TDM.

The Real talk show co-host announced her pregnancy news in January and her hubby shared the gender live on air during the show, much to Tamera’s surprise as she had asked him to conceal the baby’s sex from her.

Adam and Tamera’s twin Tia Mowry Hardrict both tweeted out their own personal notes of glee about the delivery.

We are sure Ariah will be as gorgeous as her baby bro.

Aww! Congrats!

Band-Aid spokesperson Tamera Mowry- Housley dishes on her pregnancy while promoting brand (VIDEO)

Second time mom-to-be Tamera Mowry-Housley has been making the rounds promoting Band Aid as spokesperson for the brand and she stopped by Access Hollywood and FOX and Friends recently.
During the Access Hollywood interview, the co-host of FOX’s daytime talk show The Real said she popped a lot faster for her second pregnancy compared to the last one.
“I was trying to hide it and you know the traditional way is to not tell people that you are pregnant until your 12th week and I looked like I was 6 months pregnant already,”  she joked.
The Sister, Sister alum also talked about being more exhausted being pregnant while having a toddler at home.
“No one told me about this, being pregnant and having a toddler is a whole other thing,” she shared but also expressed excitement about having to fill her heart with love for a new baby. “I loved him so much so how do you find enough love to love the other one?”

Mowry-Housley, who recently starred in a reality TV show, Tia and Tamera, with her sister Tia Mowry-Hardrict on the now defunct Style Network,  says  she does have a plan to deal with sibling jealousy. She intends to give her son Aden John Tanner with hubby FOX news correspondent Adam Housley a gift from his baby sister. That gesture, she hopes, will help him better adjust to having a new baby in the house.

Inside Tamera Mowry-Housley’s Baby Shower (PHOTOS)

Celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss did a superb job planning Tamera Mowry-Housley‘s baby shower which took place at the Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica, California last Saturday, April 4.

It was truly a girly affair (the theme) and according to PEOPLE magazine, Mowry-Housley decided to relinquish all control to Weiss to organize the entire thing and was blown away at the end product.

Guests included Mowry-Housley’s co-hosts on The Real: Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton Herbert and Jeanie Mai; her twin sister Tia Mowry Hardrict  of course and their actor brother Tahj Mowry.

The table decorations were awe-some. I loved the fact they were designed to look like tu-tus! How girly indeed!. The floral arrangement were to die for!

Guests were also treated to pink Essie nail polish and a feminine pink headband. How cute.

The shower cake from Joan and Leigh’s cakes was made like an oven, complete with a bun in it! So fun!

Loved that the invitations matched the party decor, but oopsie on the misspelling of the Housley’s son, Aden, who they welcomed in November 2012.

Guests went home with goodie bags filled with chocolate eggs, PEOPLE  reported.

It looked like an exquisite, ornate and decadent affair! Well done Mindy and congrats to Mowry-Housley and her husband FOX News correspondent Adam Housley, expecting their second child weeks from now.

Tamera Mowry-Housley plans to wear makeup for second birth (MAKEUP VIDEO TUTORIAL)

During a recent interview with PEOPLE magazine, mom-to-be Tamera Mowry-Housley said she plans to wear makeup when she delivers her daughter later this Spring.
“I feel like I have to up my fashion game already,” she joked to the magazine. “I want to be an inspiration to her from birth. I already know I’m going to do my hair, I’m going to do my makeup because it’s so weird what having a daughter does to you. You just become more girly.”
Some may wonder, huh, ‘who is thinking of looking pretty in the middle of all that pushing and sweating?’
We totally get it. You get a lot of visitors after giving birth and will be in tons of photos also, for some, makeup just makes you feel more pretty and more beautiful and lifts the mood. It’s not all about vanity.
Here is a great video tutorial from Vlogger Carah Amalie for how to quickly do your make up while in the hospital as you prepare to deliver and/or receive visitors.

[NOTE: If you are not expecting, this video is also GREAT for a natural look for everyday]

During the interview, Tamera also says while she was waiting for 8 weeks to tell her sister Tia Mowry Hardrict about the pregnancy Tia called her to ask if she was preggers. It’s that twintuition, the celeb moms always talk about in interviews! Very cute!

Tamera Mowry-Housley’s ‘The Real’ maternity style

The stylist over at the FOX daytime talk show The Real has been doing a bang up job styling second-time mom-to-be Tamera Mowry-Housley who is expecting a baby girl with her husband, Adam Housley, a FOX News correspondent. The couple are parents to 1-year old son, Aden.

This black Burberry dress with leather cap sleeves she Mowry-Housley wore yesterday worked well with the black Christian Louboutin pumps.
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e     = doc.createElement(s); e.id  = id; p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js’; var cb = new Date().getTime(); p += ‘?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
I’m digging the color he’s putting her in because it’s great to show moms-to-be that they don’t have to wear black all the time to shield their weight gain and burgeoning bump. You can play with depth, texture and layers to accent and bring out the best silhouette possible and look tres stylish while doing it.
Early in her pregnancy, when CoreySamuel was trying to conceal her pregnancy before she officially announced it to the public, he camouflaged he bump in peplum and sheath dresses and gapped waist jumpsuits! Smart! Take notes, ladies!
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e     = doc.createElement(s); e.id  = id; p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js’; var cb = new Date().getTime(); p += ‘?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
I also love what her hair stylist Karim Odoms has been doing with her hair, dolling her up with playful bobs, bangs, loose ringlets and the like! Keep it fresh.  Me likey!
Bravo! We’ll be keeping our eye on this Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum for sure!

Will Tamera Mowry-Housley’s second pregnancy announcement change how you see sponsored content by celebrities in social media?

Congratulations to one half of our favorite sets of celebrity twins, Tamera Mowry-Housley, who announced yesterday on her Instagram and Facebook accounts that she is expecting her second child with husband FOX News correspondent Adam Housley.

The couple are parents to 2-year old Aden. The new arrival, when born, will have mom’s twin, actress Tia Mowry Hardrict, for an aunty and her son with actor Cory Hardrict,  3-year old Cree Taylor for a cousin.

Mowry-Housley had been a spokesperson for the pregnancy testing brand Clear Blue  since 2013 . She also mentioned the company in the share:
“We are thrilled to announce we are #ClearblueConfirmed! Can’t wait to meet baby #2! Love Clearblue’s pregnancy test with Smart Countdown. It helped me get through the wait to get my result by counting down with me. #spon,”

She likely is beyond 3 months and took the test a while ago and is only dong the announcement now for the promo opp.

I was noticing some of the negative reaction in social media and in comments section to the announcement over the fact that she included the words “#spon” in the post and used the moment to also promote the brand.
John Legend‘s controversial wife, model Chrissy Teigen,  even threw in some shade

I wrote a couple years ago in March 2013 on my poli-tech blog about how the United States Federal Trade Commission had updated its regulations back then to require celebrities, bloggers and other social media personalities to indicate clearly and explicitly when they are getting paid in product or money to promote a product.
The purpose, of course, is the interest of transparency and full disclosure so audiences are aware they are being influenced by someone paid to advance a brand.
As a blogger, I have railed for years against the fact that I see so many celebrities promote products daily that they are getting paid to social share but who fail to abide by the rules. Yet, there seemed to be a focus on bloggers, vloggers and other rising social media influencers to be compliant. Meanwhile, celebrities were violating the rules routinely and there seemed to be no interest in cracking down on them.
Technically, the brands are responsible more making sure celebs themselves do not break the guidelines and they, along with the celebrity, are responsible for any fines or repercussions of the violation.
As BabyCenter.com pointed out, Mowry-Housley was using her clutch to hide her bump at an industry event last month.

Now,  given some of the negative reaction to Mowry-Housley’s announcement, with some people calling the share “tacky”, it’s easy to see why many choose to just omit the fact they were paid to promote a product or service.
Consumers, apparently,  don’t take too well to paid promotions at all and will be less likely to trust the word of the person promoting the product if they feel there was compensation for it. They don’t find it as genuine. Perhaps it’s the same reason why people get up to use the bathroom during commercials but cannot avoid brands strategically placed on TV shows. Overt v. Subconscious.
It also probably has to do with the fact that people gravitate to blogs, online communities and social media to get the “real” experience and find dialogue. They probably find the exchanges there more trustworthy and honest than from scripted prose. It’s the same reason why people prefer reality TV or non-fiction television shows over scripted ones perhaps.
In any event, all of the ruckus will die down eventually and people will get over it.

Congrats to the family!

I am eager, however, to see if this announcement and the reaction to it will lead more celebrities and brands to continue to take the risk of an FTC fine by just not following the rules as they are already are.
….Or will it open up more audiences’ eyes to realize that they see thousands of product placements in tweets and IG shares daily and have been obliviously taking it all in and fine with it all the time.
Note they only got bothered when it was in their faces.
So it seems people don’t mind being “influenced” so long as they’re not told they are. So interesting. And with more news outlets picking up the announcement, ClearBlue is getting exposure beyond Mowry-Housley’s millions of followers.
Your thoughts? Do you see nothing wrong with using social media to promote a brand during your pregnancy announcement? Or do you think it shouldn’t be used for personal shares?

Read Twitter Battle that caused Tamera Mowry-Housley to cry on Oprah & how hubby Adam defended his woman

This past Friday, January 10, Tia Mowry Hardrict and twin sis Tamera Mowry-Housley appeared before Oprah Winfrey on her popular OWN TV show Where Are They Now?”.   The show revisits and catches up with beloved pop culture stars of previous generations.
During the session, Tamera broke down while discussing racism she encountered in social media over her decision to marry a white man. Although the sisters have a white dad and a black mom, they identify black and are generally perceived by audiences as black women.
We thought we’d share for those who may be wondering, an excerpt of the recap from our October 2012 posting which had a summary of one such Twitter battle which was the cause of much pain to Tamera.
In this summary, you’ll see her husband Adam Housley come to Tamera’s defense against Twitter bullies.
It happened the night of the Vice Presidential televised debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Republican candidate Rep. Paul Ryan. Here it is:
Tamera Mowry-Housley retweeted Fox News host Greta Van Susteren’s Tweet about Vice President Joe Biden’s constant interruption of Republican VP Candidate Paul Ryan during the VP debate. ” I think i might turn this off if it were not my job to watch it…the interruptions make it impossible to learn anything.”
About 1900 people retweeted it, but because Tamera is Black (bi-racial), and her husband, Adam Housley is White, and he works for the very conservative and right-leaning Fox News that was enough for people to assail Tamera with an avalanche of mean, hateful, nasty and misogynistic tweets.
Even though Tamera did not say she was a Republican and say who she was voting for, simply retweeting Greta was enough to send the Twitter Bullies swinging!
via Twitchy

In reply, Tamera tweeted then later deleted:

Some came to her rescue…

via Twitchy

And then Adam went back and forth with a few …

Finally, fed up, Adam went IN….

After that, most of the “@” Tweets stopped and the two started to get more supportive tweets.
Phew! Live and let live people!
Sadly, I can relate.  As a Center Right Independent person who writes about politics for national audiences and have criticized the president in my writing on occasion (even though I am critical of Mitt Romney much too), I have had several hate letters, emails and Twitter attacks calling me all sorts of names from C*nt, to Uncle Tom etc etc.

At one point, I used to get one a month.  It stings at first, but I’ve learned that when you put yourself and your opinions out there for wide consumption by a large group of people and are perceived to be in a position of influence because of that wide reach, you will ultimately reach large swaths of folks who will not agree.

Some of those people are simple, narrow-minded, bigoted, racist, and have linear and limited experience that prohibits them from accepting others and not showing disdain for anyone they disagree with…and from behind the comfort of their computer screens, anyone can say smack “@” you that they wouldn’t DARE say to your face.

Got to shake it off and keep it popping!
Looks like Tamera did last night, sent out a bible scripture and has moved on…
