#TGIT: Some complain The Limited’s new ‘Scandal’ collection is out of their budget

Today is “Thank God It’s Thursday” (#TGIT) on ABC when many tune into shows starring many Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums like Jessica Capshaw and Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy); Kerry Washington (Scandal) and our past featured mom Viola Davis   (How to get away with murder)

Now “Gladiators”, the name for Scandal fans can get the look of the show’s lead character crisis management expert Olivia Pope who is known for her polished, structured looks, which include trenchboats, wide-legged pants, angular dresses and clean lines.

It would be only a matter of time that someone would capitalize on the legions of female fans who crave to get the Pope look.

Show costume designer Lyn Paolo and Washington inked the deal to collaborate on the line for The Limited stores which launched on September 23.

“Our collection evokes the striking and aspirational style that has become synonymous with the Scandal brand and its heroine Olivia Pope,” head designer for The Limited says Elliot Staples said of the line,  “We believe the collection tells a story of confidence and professional sophistication as well as maintaining a strong feminine point of view.”

The only thing now we notice is that many of the women in the target market, including many African American women who helped fuel the fanatical following of the show have replied that they cannot afford the clothes which sell at a price point between $75 to $500, depending on the piece.
