Sarah Jessica Parker and Her Children Have the Best Style!

Style icon Sarah Jessica Parker is opening her first brick and mortar retail shop in my county, a suburb to Washington, DC. I’m excited and interested in seeing if she will start selling children’s shoes and clothing soon.

If you’ve ever seen photos of her and her 8-year old twin daughters Tabitha and Loretta out and about “in the city”, you may notice that they too have a pretty distinctive and chic style. Parker sticks with boyfriend jeans, cropped sweaters, boots, and comfy sweats. Her girls are always in frilly skirts, colorful tops and bottoms with eclectic prints. They mix and match and that makes it all so fun!

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine a few years back, the Divorce star said that her kids pick their own clothes.

“They’re at an age — and have been for many years — where they really have their own identity,” the “Sex and the City” star told People Friday at the launch of the Fendi New York flagship store.”So Sunday through Thursday, the rule is they can wear whatever they want,” Parker, 49, said of 12-year-old son James Wilkie and five-year-old twin daughters Tabitha and Loretta with husband Matthew Broderick. “And if we go to the theater or to the ballet, I get a say. But it’s really among choices that they approve of.”

Parker, who is married to actor Matthew Broderick and shares three children with him,  recently started designing clothing herself, a few years after launching her own line of handbags and shoes with couture designer Manolo Blahnik.

But when it comes to her son, she is all about thrifting.

“I will only buy secondhand clothes for my son, James Wilkie. The documentary The True Cost really changed me,” she told The Edit online magazine. “The one area I’ve had a hard time with is pants, but I buy used T-shirts and sweaters for him. Track pants are hard—boys rip them; I don’t know how to get around that.”

And recently, she proved that she is a really hands-on mom who puts her kids first.

Shortly after collecting her  People’s Choice Award, she rushed off back to New York so she could get to bed in time to go to her her daughters’ piano recital the next day, E! Online reported.

“I’m running to catch an airplane right now. Literally I have two more seconds then I have to run home,” she said. “I’m going back home to New York. My daughters have a piano concert tomorrow, so I have to be there for that.”

Awesome!
