Is Beyoncé punking all of us with this photo?

You guys!
All the news sites and blogs are saying this Instagram share from our girl Beyoncé from this past Sunday is her way of announcing her second pregnancy.
I’m not sure if she is messing with us or not because I’m pretty certain a woman like her who is as meticulous and cautious as she is with her image is not unaware of how this pic looks.
She is on an Asian vacation these days and has been sharing “keeping it real” types of photos. And by that I mean more candid and down to earth ones. She looks like one of us and is photographing herself doing all the things  normal people do on vacay.
What do you think? Is this a second pregnancy announcement or are we being Punked?

10 savings mistakes moms make

Woman reading book
Woman reading book
Women are the driving force behind any economy. Moms make most of the household purchasing decisions, but don’t always put savings at the top of household priorities.
It’s hard to do given all the various items on the family budget. But finding room to stash savings can be done by first avoiding certain bad habits.  Here are some tips for moms to avoid these common retirement planning mistakes when they’re considering their financial future.
1.Waiting to save.
Start saving early so your money has time to grow. If you’re worried about sticking to your budget, start small. Even $20 a week can go a long way over time, and when your budget allows, contribute more.
2. Failing to plan.
It is important to understand expenses for the type of lifestyle you want, so you can save enough money. Figure out what your retirement goals are, and start planning your retirement finances now. There are helpful interactive calculators that can help you determine how much you will need in retirement.
3. Saving for college before retirement.
Moms want the best for their children, but there are many factors when deciding which savings take priority. Consider this: Your kids have access to loans and scholarships to help pay for college, but if you don’t save enough money for retirement, you may not be able to afford your expenses.* You could also have separate savings for college and retirement, and contribute to both. Even if you’re contributing less to each than you would like, the longer the money is in the account, the more the interest will accumulate.
4. Retiring with a lot of debt.
Find a way to pay down or pay off consumer, student loan, and mortgage debt before you retire. These recurring payments will be harder to make when you’re on a fixed income.
5. Relying on Social Security.
Your Social Security benefits are a valuable source of income during retirement, but with an average benefit of just $1,237,** it is unlikely that Social Security will be able to cover all your retirement expenses. Before you retire, visit www.socialsecurity.gov to find out what benefits you should plan for.
6. Failing to research options to increase your savings.
The key to growing your retirement fund is balancing risk and reward. Look into different options and how they could fit your retirement goals.

7. Individualizing your accounts.
If financial assets are in one account under one name, it may be hard to access those funds in the event of a family death. Having joint retirement accounts will protect you, your family, and your finances in the event of an unexpected death.***
8. Using your retirement funds before retiring.
Let the money in your retirement fund grow, and if you need money earlier, consider other sources. It is harder to save the closer you get to retirement, and many retirement accounts have steep penalties for withdrawing early.
9. Failure to plan for taxes.
Keep in mind that you will still have to pay taxes after leaving the workforce. Plan ahead so you’ll have enough money to pay your taxes as well as enjoy your retirement.
10. Depending on a specific retirement age.
You may plan to work until you’re 65, but sometimes unexpected circumstances alter your retirement plans. That is why it is important to start saving for retirement early, so you won’t be short of your retirement goals if you are unable to work earlier than expected.

If you are doing any of these things, hopefully you’ll take this as your notice to switch things up,mom!

HBO’s Jemima Kirke paints Liv Tyler’s pregnant form

Whoa baby!
The Leftovers’  Liv Tyler recently secured the talent of former Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum HBO‘s Jemima Kirke to capture her very pregnant form in artwork.
“So fun to be painted by a friend,” the second-time mom-to-be captioned her Instagram shared photos.
Can’t wait to see the finished product. Kirke is expressive and used to artistic expression during pregnancy. She famously posted some artsy/racy photos for Vice magazine when she was last pregnant in 2012.
Tyler and her beau British football agent Dave Gardner are expecting their 1st child together. She has a 9-year old son Milo with ex husband Royston Langdon
Kirke and husband Michael Mosberg welcomed their second child, a son, in 2012

8 modest maternity portraits you can do yourself

During pregnancy, many moms-to-be consider doing professional maternity portraits to encapsulate their months “with child” before delivering. There is a trend in maternity portraits toward taking sensual photos that reveal the bare belly. Not all moms are comfortable revealing their tummies, stripping down and photographing themselves in a sexual way while pregnant. Also, not all families are in the position, financially, especially in these trying times, to foot the cost of having a professional photographer take their photos.
Good news. Thank God for the Internet and sources like Pinterest, there are scores of maternity portrait ideas that anyone can do themselves that do not involve nudity.  These days, there are lots of online image filtering websites that will help novice photographers using a simple digital or cell phone camera create a nice effect similar to professional portrait. Here are a few ideas I spotted to consider:

7 Step Family Safety & Home Evacuation Plan

Each year, we hear of tragedies with families involving fire, natural disasters, home invasion and other home safety breaches.

Most parents know they should have a home safe and evacuation plan but don’t know where to start. So rather than take action, they do nothing until maybe it’s too late. Don’t let that be you.
Here is a simple 7-step family safety and home evacuation plan to consider and execute:
1. Start with inspecting your home thoroughly ensuring all smoke detectors are functioning properly and review the sound of the alarm with children so they know what do to when it goes off.
2.  Make sure all the kids know how to dial 911. If they are old enough, practice teaching them your phone number and address to give to emergency personnel.
3.  Make an evacuation plan by visiting each room in your home, designating two ways out and check that all windows and doors open easily.
4.  Stock a safety kit including a fire extinguisher that all members in the house know to use. Consider investing in one of those window ladders to increase chances of escape from upper windows.
5. Ensure everyone knows how to test if it’s safe to open a door during a fire and the “stop, drop and roll” procedure in fires. The may have learned safety steps in a school safety assemby at some point but have them learn to apply it in your home.
6.  Lastly, designate a safe meeting place outside the home where your family can gather after exiting. This meeting place should be close to the home, but not too close to be in danger from the fire, and in front of the house so that fire safety personnel can easily see you as they arrive. It should also be somewhere easy to find in day or night, such as near a telephone pole, tree or mailbox.
7.  Most importantly, practice the escape plan. While 71 percent of Americans have a plan, only 47 percent of those have practiced it.
Don’t just read this, put it in place and practice it. You never know if this information, put into action, could save yours or a family member’s life.
Good luck and be safe, families!

Winter evening maternity wear styling guide

Will you be heading out to a formal or evening event, cocktail party or outing this weekend? Consider these celebrity-inspired tips for looking your best.
The first thing you need to consider is your undergarment. That is the secret to all those pregnant celebs you see on the red carpet looking so well cinched and put together. Maternity spanks, tights, bras and undergarment should provide ample coverage and support.
Your best option is to go with a seamless dress. You don’t need too much boning digging into your skin and making you uncomfortable. They flatter you more. As do empire waist dressed and A-line dresses that fall over your bump.
If you are comfortable showing your leg a sheath dress with a sash or belt tied above the breast bone rocks. If you are not, pick an floor length dress to elongate your frame. Petite women should consider high-neck bodices to lengthen the stature.
Mary Jane, sensible pumps and wedges or kitty heels are best for staying safe yet fashionable. Accentuate the look with feminine jewelry, scarves, chandelier or hoop earrings.
Stay warm and have a great time, preginistas! Here are some styling options from our style partners at Shopstyle.
