18 Kids Bento Box Lunch Ideas (PHOTOS)

I am trying to come up with some healthy and yummy lunch options for my children for school. I discovered recently that Bento Boxes are the perfect solution for providing many options and keeping them neat and tidy for little hands,

These days retailers like Pottery Barn and Target sell them starting at around $10 each, and upwards.  More complex ones like Omie Box‘s have hot attachment options so you can provide soup too.

Check out these creative lunch options I spotted that some have already created. I’m making my grocery shopping list now to accommodate some of these ideas.

Exec sues Mets for out-of-wedlock pregnancy discrimination

The Mets first woman senior vice president is suing the Mets for pregnancy discrimination, claiming co-owner and chief operations officer Jeff Wilpon made several hostile statements to and about her unwed pregnancy while she worked for the company.
Leigh Castergine, a executive in the organization’s ticketing department,  alleged in her suit that she lost her job because Wilpon was “morally opposed” to her  being pregnant and unmarried.
The suit states that Wilpon told her “that when she gets a ring she will make more money and get a bigger bonus,” and in a meeting over a proposed ad deal said,  “I am as morally opposed to putting an e-cigarette sign in my ballpark as I am to Leigh having this baby without being married.” 
She said Wilpon’s son, Fred told Casterine’s co-workers to to not show interest in her unborn child.
“Do not rub her belly,” the lawsuit claims he warned them. “Don’t ask how she’s doing. She’s not sick, she’s pregnant.”
Castergine, complained to no resolution many times to human resources department, before filing a legal suit, court documents state. She said she was asked to drop her complaints in exchange to stay a year, rather than being immediately fired for low ticket sales.
When she rejected the deal and told her bosses she planned to file suit, they fired her on the spot, the suit states.

Vanessa Lachey was spotted out and about shopping recently. 
Milla Jovovich looked fab in white at the Italian premiere of Cymbeline in Venice Film Festival on September 3.  
Kourtney Kardashian shopped at the La Cienega Design Quarter for her home in Beverly Hills, California on September 2, 2014.
While Shakira was seen at a Basketball game with her fiance Gerard Pique at the World Basketball Championship in Barcelona, Spain.
Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana and her director sister Cisely Saldana were radiant at the Boss fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 on September 10, 2014 in New York City.
And

Kelly Rowland was looking quite cute and very preggers while reaching out to her pal the new US Open Champ Serena Williams who just matched Chris Everet and Martina Navratilova’s record of 18 Grand Slam wins. Her win Sunday was her 4th consecutive out of 6 overall US Open championship.

While previewing her collection Tuesday of her Serena Statement Collection for the HSN Network, Williams got a text message saying “Anna is here” as in Anna Wintour, the Vogue editor who every designer wants to present before.

Rowland wanted her friend to know she is also there for here.

Recently, reports surfaced that Hollywood Exes star Andrea Kelly (1) divorced her husband Brian McKee of two months after she discovered inappropriate texts between him and several of his exes. A couple of weeks ago, the interwebs went gaga over Phaedra Parks’ (2) reading of her show nemesis Kenya Moore who for two seasons milked inappropriate text messages she had exhanged with Parks’ husband Apollo Nida.
They are the latest in celebrity break ups or scandals over texting. Reese Witherspoon (3) divorced Ryan Phillippe shortly after discovering text messages between him and his mistress Abbie Cornish. Similarly, Sandra Bullock (4)  discovered hubby Jesse James‘ text messages with Michelle McGhee; Shaunie O’Neal (5) discovered Shaquille O’Neal texts with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Lopez; Eva Longoria (6)  discovered beau Tony Parker‘s sexting with teammate Brent Barry‘s wife Erin Barry; David Duchony (7) discovered  wife Tea Leoni (8) was sexting with Billy Bob Thornton; Love and Hip Hop Erica Mena (9)  broke off her engagement with then fiance Lil Scrappy after finding explicit text messages with another woman; and porn star Ginger Lee released explicit text messages sent from former Congressman Anthony Weiner (10) while married to Huma Abedin. 
A recent survey from Victoria Milan discovered that the majority of American cheaters (83%) connected with their lovers via their mobile phones. 
Most of the 3,500 members of the company that facilitate extramarital affairs for members said they used WhatsApp, Faceboo or Twitter (56%) followed by  Mobile text messages and phone calls on their mobile phones followed. 
Most of the cheaters surveyed use their normal telephone number to reach their lovers, but 11% have another “secret SIM card” for keeping their lover secret. And 69% have a contract instead of using prepaid cards even though it is inherently riskier given that their bill provides a complete record of everyone they have contacted via phone and text each month.

10 Unconventional Morning Sickness Cures

In light of the fact that Kate Middleton is in the news again over her extreme case of morning sickness which forced her to have to reveal very early that she is with child again, we thought we would re-share this post on Morning Sickness cures!
If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy and experiencing extreme morning sickness and can’t seem to get the traditional remedies such as mint tea, small meals, crackers and preggie pops to work, try these unconventional tricks;
1. Eat high protein right before going to bed.
2. Switch to iron-free prenatal vitamins and get your iron sources from foods like spinach and nuts. 
3. Sip slowly on ice cold water when you feel queasy.
4. Take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water.
5. Before you get up in the morning, eat 2 saltine crackers in bed.
6. Eat a few almonds before you get up in the morning.
7. Take ginger in the form of tea, ginger mints or cookies.
8. Take vitamin B6 pills.
9. Use acupressure bands
10. Inhale the peppermint tea and wear peppermint oil on your wrist and sniff it when you get nauseous.

5 Tips for teaching School/Life balance to kids

From first-hand knowledge, I know that a child can struggle in class, lose assignment sheets and notes, miss assignments and  forget to bring home books needed to complete homework if he or she is not organized. My husband and I are working through this problem with our eldest two.
That is why I was elated to recently learn about the benefits of teaching children “executive functioning skills.” They are the type of skills top or mid level execs use to succeed in work but certainly can apply to kids as well. 
Organization and focus are key qualities for many successful adults, but these skills do not come naturally to grown ups, imagine if you were taught it at a young age and grew with those skills.
The Glenholme School in Washington, Connecticut  actually has a program called “Executive Functioning Skills” which helps its students focus on tasks at hand, prioritize and organize in a way that will help them throughout their lives even after leaving school. 
Here are 5 tips that Maryann Campbell, Executive Director of The Glenholme School, offers to assist all parents and children:
1.       Stash and trash – Prevent mountains of papers from accumulating by learning what to keep and what to toss. This is a very important skill, even for the most organized adults! Teach children at a young age what types of documents to keep and throw away as well as how to best organize the materials they are keeping. Your future storage bins will thank you! 
2.       Balancing work and fun – It is important to teach children that there is a time for work and a time for play, and that they are both important for a well-balanced life! Make time for studying, afterschool activities and dinner with the family.
3.       Manage the day – Parents have planners, and so should children! Teach your child to use a day planner or calendar, where they can record their school work, after-school activities, social events and family time.  Whether it is paper or digital, it doesn’t matter. The point is that the child learns to manage their time and sets realistic expectations for each day.
4.       Organize assignments – Parents can help their children stay organized with color-coded folders and a desk-top storage system for their school work.  Children also really enjoy label makers. Divide the folders and storage containers by subject, and teach children how to label accordingly.
5.       Lightening the backpack without losing the work – We’ve all witnessed the tiny child with the gigantic backpack that weighs nearly as much as they do, as well as the extreme opposite of the student who shows up to class without a pen or paper. Teaching children to carry what is important for the day will help them be better prepared for class. Go over the day’s activities the night before, make a list of what classes and activities the child has and pack accordingly.
This solid advice should help parents have a basis and foundation for passing on these critical skills to their children.

‘The Talk’s Sara Gilbert Is Pregnant

Congratulations are in order to The Talk‘s Sara Gilbert who announced today LIVE during the show that she and her wife, Linda, are expecting their first child together. 
By the looks of her fellow panelists, Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen and Sheryl Underwood, when she made the announcement, you can tell they really had no clue of the news before hand. 
This is the first child for the couple who married last March. The former star of Roseanne is mom to Levi, 9, and daughter Sawyer, 7— with ex Allison Adler.
