Extra TV Host Tanika Ray hid bump well in one shoulder crimson gown (PHOTOS)

We see Extra TV’s New York correspondent Tanika Ray has managed to keep secret the fact that she is very pregnant for a while. The news got exposed last week during the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon in West Hollywood when Essence.com published a photo of the great Oprah Winfrey snuggling on the mom-to-be’s baby bump.

Ray proved the power of clothes as you could barely notice the belly days prior in the BCBGMAXAZRIA Kristine One Shoulder Evening dress she wore to the NAACP Image awards presented by TV One at Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on February 22, 2014.

Ray, who is sometimes seen on HLN’s Showbiz Tonight, was glowing in a pink and blue bump hugging print maternity dress and shared loads of photos of the event on her Instagram page.

No public announcement yet on how far along she is neither who is the father of her child.

Study: Eating junkfood during pregnancy risks pre-term birth

A new study on diet and pregnancy suggests that what you eat when you are expecting is as important as what you don’t.

Women who ate plenty of fruits and vegetables and who tried to drink water instead of soft drinks were less likely to have premature babies than women who ate more “Western” diets, a big study in Norway has shown.

It wasn’t that women who ate pizza, tacos and sweets were more likely than average to have premature babies, the researchers found. It was that healthier eating lowered the risk by about 15 percent.

Dr Linda Englund-Ögge of Sweden’s Sahlgrenska Academy and colleagues studied a big database of 66,000 Norwegian women who are taking part in a larger study. One of the things they did was fill out a food diary while pregnant.

Englund-Ogge’s team classified their diets into three broad types: a “prudent” diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables and not too much junk food; a “traditional” Nordic diet with boiled potatoes, fish and gravy; and a more typical modern “Western” diet with processed white flour, sweets and snacks.

“Our results indicate that increasing the intake of foods associated with a prudent dietary pattern is more important than totally excluding processed food, fast food, junk food, and snacks,” they wrote in their report, published in the British Medical Journal.

It makes sense, says Dr. Walter Willett, a nutrition expert at the Harvard School of Public Health who was not involved in the study. “It does fit with what we have learned about diet and pregnancy,” he told NBC News.

Future isn’t first to accidentally reveal baby’s gender- History of Celebrity Slip Ups!

Poor Ciara!

She told People magazine that she didn’t want to reveal the gender of her baby.

“I do know the sex of my baby, but again I want to keep that special as well,” she told the magazine.

But sadly that’s easier said than done when your partner has a tough time not revealing the gender to interviewers during media appearances.

The Body Party singer’s fiance, hip hip artist Future, was interviewing with Tim Westwood when he repeatedly referred to the baby as “he” and “him”.

“The baby listening to music already now,” he said. “She [Ciara] sent me a video while I was over here with the headphones on her stomach. ‘The baby just listened to ‘Turn on the Lights,’ [Ciara said] ‘The version with me and you’. And I said you got to play the ‘anytime’ version for him. Let him hear that. See how he kick. She played it for him and he started kicking like crazy.”

He also said that they have a baby name, that Ciara has “been shopping” for the baby and clearing out of closets and the guest room for the baby’s stuff.

Eventually the “Turn on the Lights” recording-artist told Westwood, who had previously asked about the gender, “see you got the sex out of me and you didn’t even know it.”

Future tried to refer to the baby as a “she” later and suggest it may be a girl but too late.

Today, most sites are reporting that Ciara is having a baby boy but do we really know? “You can’t believe the blogs,” Future said. “They done told so many lies on me.”

Recall early in 2013 when Kristen Bell was pregnant, people assumed she was having a boy when she told Ellen that her fiance Dax Shepard would soon get a “tiny buddy” to go “off roading” with.

We know that was wrong! We figured it out after photos of her baby shower showed lots of pink and guests going to her baby shower bearing gifts wrapped in pink.

She eventually gave birth to a daughter, Lincoln.

Baby showers are generally when the public gets a clue of a celebrity baby’s gender.

Instagram photos of balloons spelling out “boy” at Rachel Zoe‘s shower in 2013 revealed that she was having a baby boy even though the reality TV star and designer had previously said she would not share the gender with the public before the baby’s birth.

In 2011, paparazzi shot January Jones shopping for blue colored clothing at a local Target.

Also that year, Jessica Simpson accidentally told US Weekly that she was having a boy after saying she wanted to keep the gender private.

My kid’s going to think I’m pretty cool!” she told the magazine ” My kid’s going to think I’m pretty cool! This is a cool thing to welcome him to the world with.”

Keeping the baby’s gender secret if you are a celebrity is a challenge but it can be done. All they have to do is not shop for the baby in public, do interviews or have baby showers. Simple. (smile)

Thandie Newton welcomes son, Booker Jombe, via home birth

After two boys, actress Thandie Newton welcomed a son who she and her husband Ol Parker named Booker Jombe.

“Our baby boy is finally here! Booker Jombe Parker. Born joyously at homeyesterday,” Thandie announced on Twitter on Tuesday. “My 3rd home birth with brilliant independent midwife Caroline Flint — and Carole Goddard at Phoenix Midwives. Keep independent midwifery alive!”

Report: Doctors cured a Second HIV Baby

A second baby born with the AIDS virus may have had her infection put into remission and possibly cured by very early treatment — in this instance, four hours after birth.

Doctors revealed the case Wednesday at an AIDS conference in Boston. The girl was born in suburban Los Angeles last April, a month after researchers announced the first case from Mississippi.

That case was a medical first that led doctors worldwide to rethink how fast and hard to treat infants born with HIV. The California doctors followed that example.

The Mississippi baby is now 3 1/2 and seems HIV-free despite no treatment for about two years. The Los Angeles baby is still getting AIDS medicines, so the status of her infection is not as clear.

A host of sophisticated tests at multiple times suggest the LA baby has completely cleared the virus, said Dr. Deborah Persaud, a Johns Hopkins University physician who led the testing. The baby’s signs are different from what doctors see in patients whose infections are merely suppressed by successful treatment, she said.

“We don’t know if the baby is in remission … but it looks like that,” said Dr. Yvonne Bryson, an infectious disease specialist at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA who consulted on the girl’s care.

Doctors are cautious about suggesting she has been cured, “but that’s obviously our hope,” Bryson said.

Most HIV-infected moms in the U.S. get AIDS medicines during pregnancy, which greatly cuts the chances they will pass the virus to their babies. The Mississippi baby’s mom received no prenatal care and her HIV was discovered during labor. So doctors knew that infant was at high risk and started her on treatment 30 hours after birth, even before tests could determine whether she was infected.

E!Online reported the news this past weekend and TMZ claims its sources say The Avengers actress is about 5-months pregnant.

Johnasson, who was once married to Ryan Reynolds for 3-years and dated Justin Timberlake for a long time, has noted in the past that she is ready to settle down, marry and raise a children after a long career.

“”At some point it is something I forward to. I am fortunate in that I have had a long career – 20 years – that has been very diverse,” the Captain America star told People after announcing her engagement. “So, you know, picking a time to plan a family feels like something that I could do and not feel as though I was missing out.”

Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Biel debunk pregnancy rumors at Oscar events

Last night, was also about debunking false reporting about pregnancy.

A tiny bump in a photo with Jared Lareto at a pre-Oscar party had a few people speculating that Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was preggers with her second kid with husband Jim Toth.

But the actress, who is mom to 14-year old Ava and 10-year old Deacon with ex-hubby Ryan Phillipe and 1-year old Tennessee with Toth, showed up at the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party in West Hollywood wearing a mid-length sequinned asymmetrical BOSS number with a plunging neckline revealing plenty cleavage, side boob and bare tummy. The Walk the Line actress toted a Roger Vivier clutch and wore Irene Neuwirth jewels.

Jessica Biel also shut down pregnancy rumors as well in a Chanel Couture dress at the Academy Awards, worn with Tiffany jewels last night, and revealing a pretty small tiny waistline. This confirmed what her grandmom-in-law had said in the press about how Biel and new hubby Justin Timberlake are too busy for children.

“They are married but they are so busy, both of them, it’s hard going,” Timberlake’s grandmom Sadie Bomar told The Sun. “I’m sure when it’s right to have children they will, but not now. They do love each other dearly but they are apart so much it’s going to be hard going for them . . . I think Jessica finds that really tough. She’s on her own a good deal.”

Awww. Bellytich and other outlets had reported back this January that the super cute power couple were expecting. Oh well. False alarm!
