Leave it to Solange Knowles who looked radiant in her Humberto Leon for Kenzo floor-length off-white specially-designed cape wedding dress to remind us of how passionately majestic and out-of-this-wordly she is. The singer-songwriter-DJ-actress-producer married her longtime beau of 5 years ,video director Alan Ferguson, in a quite unique ceremony in New Orleans this weekend.
The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church in the Baywater area with a reception after at the Marigny Opera House before about 200 guests. The Friday before, the couple treated about 50 guests to a screening at Indywood Cinema of the 1970s movie Mahogany which starred Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams, special to the couple because their romance sparked after viewing that very film back in 2008 together.
The couple rode around New Orleans and to the ceremony on matching white antique bicycles ornate with flowers and organza which Solange dazzled in wearing a Stéphane Rolland jumpsuit.
The visually stunning photos from the event, released by Vogue.com, practically bent the internet a bit on its own yesterday as they streamed down many people’s various social media feeds all day.
The second look reminded us of how glorious one could look if they had the eclectic and crazy sexy cool personality of Solange to pull it off.
Congrats! This is the second marriage for Solange who was married to Daniel Smith, with whom she bore a son Julez, now 10-years old, from 2004 to 2007.
