A 62-year old doctor gave birth to her third child, a baby girl, Tuesday, October 18 in Madrid, Spain.
Lina Alvarez welcomed newborn, Lina, into the world at a healthy 5 pounds 3 ounces via cesarean section at Lucas Augusti Hospital. Alvarez also has a 27- year old who was born with cerebral palsy and a 10-year old. She got pregnant a second and third time via in-virto fertilization treatment.
Alvarez was photographed yesterday leaving the hospital located city of Lugo on Tuesday with her child in her arms, and telling everyone saying she felt wonderful.
She encourages other women of advanced age to follow in her footsteps and to not be afraid to do so, adding that they should let nature, not gynecologists decide.
There are loads of implications of having a child later in life, one certainly being that the child will immediately not be able to benefit from having her mom around when she gets older and start having her own children, who also may not get to grow up knowing their grandma.
Man, there are some great great grandmothers out here in the world that is her age! Wow!
