The wait is over on the sex of #BabyTucker
This Sunday before the premiere of Real Housewives of Atlanta, its star Kandi Burruss and her husband cast-mate, TV productions manager and business owner Todd Tucker announced on Instagram that the couple are expecting a bouncing baby boy!
Before then, Burruss previewed the news on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.
“No, you didn’t [read I’m having twins]! No! I got one in there. Yes, we’re having a boy!” she revealed. “Oh, yeah, definitely [we wanted a son]. We both got girls now, so we really wanted a boy,” she shared on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. “We can’t agree on names right now. We keep going back and forth.”
It will be the first for each. Burruss has a teen daughter Riley, 13, and Tucker also has a teen daughter, Kaela, 19, both from previous relationships.
The news was announced with a bittersweet massage given that Tucker’s mom Sharon, who had been featured in several episodes of the show, suddenly passed away last year from a stroke:
“That’s baby Tucker!!! It’s a BOY!!!,” Tucker captioned his Instagram share of the ultrasound confirming the baby’s gender. “I wish my mom was here for this! She wanted this more than anything!!! But I know she see’s everything that’s happening and she’s happy and proud of us!!!” #blessed #MamaSharon”
Second-time Mom-to-Be Kandi Burruss, star of BravoTV‘s Real Housewives of Atlanta, is also in the running for the hardest working preggers celeb.
The entrepreneur already has a successful adult toy individual franchise company (Bedroom Kandi), a popular late night web show (Kandi Koated Nights), a clothing boutique in Atlanta (TAGS) and a rising music indie label, all while balancing several reality TV shows, to add to her decade career penning chart toppers for music industry’s biggest names.
She recently announced that she and her husband Entertainment Producer Todd Tucker are planning to open a family restaurant. “My hubby & I are putting together our family restaurant & getting some tips from @chefjaaion. #coming2015 #ILoveToEatSoYouKnowItsGonnaBeGood #Foodie,” the former 90s girl band singer captioned a photo of herself with Tucker and friends on Instagram recently.
The Grammy-award winning multi-platinum songwriter also just wrapped a family maternity shoot with Atlanta-based celebrity photographer Drexina Nelson.
“My girls @latashawright @gochasalon & @shunmelson got me & my family right for our photoshoot with @drexinanelson. #BabybumpPics,” the pretty preginista captioned the photo of her glam squad who hooked her up for the photo shoot.Gorgeous!
This phenomenal-looking shoot was right after appearing with her entire family in the infamous Ebony magazine “Black Family ISSUES” edition with the controversial photo of a shattered image of The Huxtables from the famous 80s show The Cosby Show on the cover.
“I finally got my copy of the new #EbonyMagazine family issue that includes my family!” Burruss captioned the IG photo collage of the images of her family in the magazine. “Our family discusses the topic of blended families. Thank you @kiernamayo for including us in this issue! Wow I can’t believe my family is included in the issue with the Obama family & the controversial cover of the #Huxtables. #CosbyShow #RHOA #FirstFamily #Presidential #Obama”
Burruss also recently supported another one of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums, Rasheeda, who recently launched a boutique herself called Pressed, also in the ATL. Good Stuff.
“I stopped by to see my sis @rasheedadabosschick. Got a few goodies for @rileyburruss at #Pressed while I was there. #FriendsSupportFriends #RasheedaAlwaysBusy #BossChick”. Nice!
Counting down to Baby Tucker. No word still on the gender. Burruss and Tucker each have one daughter from previous relationships, Riley (Burruss’) and Kayla (Tucker’s).
