Kerry Washington opens up on Motherhood and parenting a Girl

Kerry Washington is a private person but during recent interviews she has opened up quite a bit about being a parent.
In a new Marie Claire interview which was with HBO‘s Girls star and creator Lena Dunham, for example, Washington reveals what she wants for her  daughter Isabella who she welcomed almost a year ago.
“I just want [Isabelle] to know that she’s heard. Really heard, because I feel like that is what we all really want. When I think about any of the missteps in my life that I’ve made, all of which I’m grateful for, it’s because I just so wanted to be truly seen and heard for who I am and was afraid I wasn’t or wouldn’t be. I see you, I hear you, I’m with you as you are.”
Also a recent book launch luncheon on international women’s day, Scandal star Kerry Washington revealed a bit about her feelings about motherhood.
“It’s just made my life better in every way,” the Emmy -nominated actress told PEOPLE at Sunday’s book release event for Expecting 411.”
She and husband NFL‘s Nnamdi Asomugha plan to celebrate her first birthday on April 21.
Washington also had great things to say about the book: “This book was by my bedside the whole time I was pregnant,” Washington shared. “It’s as if your very best girlfriend was a brilliant OB and wrote a book for you.”
Last fall, Washington also shared that she has been breastfeeding her daughter and hopes to pass along a healthy lifestyle to her.
“I’ve always been a person who really approaches health in a proactive way,” the Image Award winning actress stated. “I work out, I eat right, so those are things I continued to do once my doctor said I could, but not to be crazy about it. I’m breastfeeding, so I can’t starve myself. It’s important for me to be a good mom and a good actor, and be responsible to myself and my family.”

Bump Watch: Kate Middleton tours art gallery in trendy dalmatian print coat

The Duchess of Cambridge rocked a Hobbs Dalmatian print coat she’s worn before while touring the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery yesterday, March 11, in Margate, England. I loved the fact she had her hair pulled back into a messy pony tail since wispy loose messy hair is trending these days.

The former Kate Middleton was in her fave black Stuart Weitzman Power pumps and carried a quaint  Mulberry clutch.  I’m really feeling the dalmation print as it is whimsical and fun!

hmmm…..

Vodafone offers 16 weeks paid maternity leave

Vodafone has introduced a mandatory minimum maternity policy that requires all 30 of its globally operating companies to offer at least 16 weeks of fully paid leave to expectant mothers, even in countries like the US that have no paid leave requirements.
The kicker? For the first six months after returning from leave, women who work at the multinational telecommunications company will receive full pay for 30-hour weeks.
“Too many talented women leave working life because they face a difficult choice between either caring for a newborn baby or maintaining their careers,” said Vittorio Colao, the company’s chief executive.

International Bump Watch: Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku bumps it up at red carpet premiere

I love it when I notice other regions of the world that also have active movie celebrity culture engage in bump watch. It proves we are not the only ones out here obsessed with the incubation of the next generation of stars.

This time, I spotted Information Nigerias coverage of second time mom-to-be and Nollywood  actress Mary Remmy Njoku at the London premiere of her latest project.

The co-star to the latest film project by noted Nigerian film maker Obi Emolynyre wore a fuchsia halter dress with white beaded adornment in the bodice of the empire waist chiffon dress. Her loose ringlets were a great accompaniment to the formal look.

Njoku’s co-star Mercy Johnson, who we covered also while pregnant a couple years ago, walked the red carpet too.

The movie from Nigerian Thy Will Be Done showed at the on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the BFI/IMAX theater in Waterloo, London, England.

According to the report Mjoku and her husband Jason Njoku married in 2012 and welcomed their first child together Njoku in July 2013.
