Awww, Rudy and Theo Huxtable Became First-Time Parents This Year

Man, can you believe Theo and Rudy Huxtable both became parents for the first time this year?

Yup, in January, Keshia Knight-Pulliam the actress that played the adorable youngest daughter on the popular 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show welcomed her first child, a daughter she named Ella Grace with her estranged husband, former NFL player Ed Hartwell.

Last month, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played the only son of the family, Theo Huxtable, and his girlfriend, reportedly a Connecticut attorney, announced the birth  of his first child as well. At the time, the star didn’t share the sex of the baby but recently, he posted a photo of himself cradling his newest addition and revealing that she is a girl.

“Man, if ANYBODY else disrespected my St. Louis Cardinals shirt like this while I was wearing it there’d be problems!” Warner captioned the Instagram photo. “Only a dad in love walks around with his daughter’s spit up on his shirt like it’s a badge of honor! #droolandstool #happydaddy #happymommy #happybaby #lovedbabiesarehappybabies #alovinghomeisahappyhome.”

When he made the birth announcement, he also shared the most adorable daddy-daughter photo.

“Peaceful time with family takes on a whole new meaning now,” the new dad captioned the skin-to-skin image cuddling with his newborn.

Warner famously dated one of our blog faves Regina King for a long time in the late 2000s before breaking up.

Keshia Knight-Pulliam’s Birth Story included Racism Allegations

Keisha Knight-Pulliam says she was treated like a poor single mom by a lactation nurse after she gave birth to her first child, daughter Ella Grace, last month.

Pulliam, best known for her role as Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show, gave her birth story on her weekly podcast, Kandidly Keshia

Pulliam reported that she was checked into the hospital before her delivery date. She revealed that she went in to see her OB during a routine doctor’s visit and learned that her blood pressure was dangerously high and she would need to get induced right away.

On that episode of her podcast, the 37-year-old actress said “everything was kept very private” for “safety reasons” and that her doctor and nurses did an “amazing job” taking care of her.

Post birth, after 12 hours of labor, Pulliam says she got biased treatment by  an elderly lactation specialist, who had no idea who Puliam was.

The woman actually assumed she was a poor mother in need, the Beauty Shop actress revealed.

“Bless this old little lady’s heart,” Pulliam said while explaining that the woman handed her a hospital pamphlet, opened to a page that contained “about 30 different numbers and resources” for mothers and told her, “We have some great programs that you may want to take advantage of that you may need. Um, WIC is a great program.”

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides federal grants to states to provide basic nutritional needs of low-income pregnant women, new mothers and children up to age 5, usually via grocery vouchers. To qualify, a person’s gross income must be at or below 185 percent of the U.S. poverty income guidelines.

“So I guess she saw this little black girl with the little baby by herself and on the door, I didn’t realize that they’d put like a faux last name and the last name was Brown,” Pulliam continued. “So I guess she saw ‘Miss. Brown’ and was like, ‘She probably needs some WIC.’ So she said, ‘Yes, WIC is…an amazing program that you may want to take advantage of and I don’t know if you have insurance-‘ that’s when I stopped her, I said, ‘Ma’am, I have excellent insurance but thank you.’

It was presumptuous but well-meaning, albeit probably based on stereotypes about unwed moms of color  delivering solo.

The House of Payne star also said the elderly specialist did not help her learn to breastfeed.

“Like, she didn’t want to touch me,” she said. “They literally will like, guide your boob, show you how to hold it, put it in the baby’s mouth. This lady was not trying to touch my little brown boobie.”

Eventually, the online cooking show host said her doula got her a replacement.

Super Bowl Showdown: Gisele Bundchen versus the ATL Divas

The big game is tomorrow evening. Who are you rooting for? The 4x Super Bowl champions New England Patriots or the Atlanta Falcons. I know for certain our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Gisele Bundchen will be Team Patriots. After all, she is married to its longtime famed quarterback Tom Brady.

I’m not for certain, but I will take a guess that the scores of other celebs we’ve “bumpwatched” who live in the Atlanta area will be cheering for their home team.

Phaedra Parks, Kandi Burruss, Eudoxie Agnan, Ciara, Keshia Knight-Pulliam, Rasheeda and Tamara Braxton-Herbert all hail from the ATL.

First-time mom-to-be Keshia Knight-Pulliam used Thanksgiving to share with her Instagram followers the lessons she’s learned from the roller coaster year she has had.

The star, best known for her role as the character “Rudy Huxtable” on the 1980s comedy “The Cosby Show”, used the occasion to share a sonogram of her soon-to-be-born daughter, she has decided to name Ella Grace. She captioned the 3D image with a heartfelt message.

“This has been this single most challenging year of my life. However, I wake up this Thanksgiving more grateful & in awe of God’s power than ever,” she wrote.

“Thru it all this little face has kept me going & helped me tap into strength I didn’t even know I possess. I am so eternally grateful for my little Ella. I would not trade any of what I have gone thru for her. She is my greatest accomplishment & joy. She has inspired my smile even thru the tears. I am so proud she has chosen me to be her mommy… #Grateful #ThereIsAlwaysARainbowAfterTheStorm #IfICanDoItSoCanYou”

Pulliam and her estranged husband, former NFL player Ed Hartwell are undergoing a divorce after Hartwell filed for the formal separation days after she announced that they were expecting their first child. The couple only married in January this year after a very brief courtship.

The actress also casually dropped the fact that she has been one of the few women fortunate to not have gotten stretch marks while pregnant…yet.

Hold on, girl. They appear during that last month but hopefully she can stave them off for the entire pregnancy. My mom had four children and has zero stretch marks on her belly! Lucky!

A little over a month ago, members of her Kamp Kizzy surprised her with a baby shower

And earlier, she was gifted with a bunch of stuff from Marquee Communications which represents a bunch of baby and pregnancy related brands! Nice
