My 15 Fave She-Shed Designs and Why I love them

she shed00

Scrolling through my Facebook Feed one morning, I noticed a friend post an article about the proliferation of “She-Sheds” around the country as the answer to the “Man Cave.” I squealed with delight and went on a Pinterest journey to find my faves. I have a Shed in our Backyard with a lawnmower and tools that I certainly can find another home for…um somewhere. Ha!

Here are my faves including this award winning one above which look like a quaint, cozy and serene escape pod. My other faves:

I love this shed because it has a Moroccan feel to it and it’s cool too because it’s not actually a shed but a tent with mosquito net around it.  That is great for those who do not have a real shed to convert. The only issue is that you’d have to pack up the pillows and upholstery at the end of the day to protect them from dust, moisture and rain.

I like the simplicity of this Shed, the dark flooring contrasted with the white walls give it an extra cozy feel and the red velour increases the intimacy of the room. Simple decorations and a few candles are enough. I’m a minimalist and too much decorations would make me feel too claustrophobic in an already small space.

The glass doors in this shed opens the room and expands it some. This shed also makes it possible for mom to escape with a magazine while still keeping an eye on her kids perhaps running around in the yard playing. I also like the simple decorations and all white furniture means “no greasy husbands or messy kids allowed”.

The light wood panel of this shed combined with the glass opens up this space even more. It lets the owner bring in the light and nature around the shed while chilling and getting away. The track lighting makes this shed a great place to escape too even in the evening hours.

This shed also has a North African feel to it. I love the multitude of colors right down to the fact the doors and exterior are painted a serene blue. It’s warm and inviting, but not too inviting, this is a sanctuary after all.

This shed is for the woman who wants to craft in piece. Whether she is putting together necklaces for vending at the local flea market or her online Etsy shop, this is a great space for getting work done while escaping.

I love the arched cutaway and day bed in this shed. It has almost a cocoon feel to it. I could see myself napping in here for at least an hour because Lord knows your kids won’t let you get away for too long.

This she shed inside has a Victorian feel while a natural rustic feel outside. It’s a great secret hideaway that could camouflage in the yard. The colored doors offer that spark of brightness that could lift the mood as well.

I really dig the 1950s diner look to this she-shed. It’s playful and bright. This she-shed is large enough to invite friends over for brunch or drinks and conversation. It doesn’t always have to be a space for you alone. Guys have the boys over for games at their Man Caves all the time. Add a TV and you could have little watch parties yourself in here.

I adore the Shabby Chic decor of this shed. The White interior and Exterior walls are puritanical, dainty, feminine and soft. I could enjoy noon tea or get away and do some knitting or crocheting back here…that is if I had the skill to knit or crochet that is.

What is not to love about a shed on the beach. I don’t know what else I could say about an oasis on an oasis. This is ideal if you have your own private beach to your vacation home. In between dips in the sea, you can avoid getting sunburned laying out by retreating into your shed an taking a nap bathed by sea breeze. Aaaah!

How serene and luxurious is this divine get-a-way nook!?! You could chill with your magazines, nosh on some snacks and or lose yourself in a good book in this cozy space. The red, pink and yellow decor warms up the space as well.

This barrel shaped shed is unique and quaint as the funky wall paper and round cushion ottomans inside. This is another space with ample room to accommodate visitors. Heck, I’d even let the kids visit me in this one for a reading hour. Or we could play board games or assemble a craft project or something in here. Nice.

For that gardener who wants to be nestled among the greenery and her hard work, comes this cottage space. With the table and bench, you could enjoy breakfast or write letters and notes in here. Like who does those things anymore. You can if you had a marvelous spot like this to do it in.
