Kylie Jenner joins Long List of Celebs Who Don’t Show Their Babies Faces Online; Here’s Why

I saw a few reports about how makeup mogul and reality TV star Kylie Jenner has selected to stop showing her daughter Stormi’s face on social media after a few mean trolls left nasty comments about the infant.

As Celebrity Baby Scoop reported, “fans noticed that Stormi’s face was hidden and one follower, in particular, noted that she had ‘cut her baby out’, Jenner replied, ‘Yeah I cut my baby out. I’m not sharing photos of my girl right now.'”

Reportedly, she was excited to share her baby with the world but has had to retreat amidst the mean trolls, and her beau and Stormi’s dad Travis Scott is doing the same, only showing her tiny Nikes in a recent Snap Story.

I cannot say I blame her. One of this blog’s most viewed post is about Aoki Lee, the brilliant daughter of Russell Simmons and our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kimora Lee Simmons, who avoids posting photos of her face on her own Instagram page, and how I believe it stems from nasty comments from the public about her looks.

The harsh critique from the public probably explains why Beyonce famously shielded her daughter Blue Ivy‘s face when she shared photos of her during her infancy to toddler years, and Kelly Rowland for the first year of her son’s life as well.

If you follow actress Zoe Saldana‘s social media, you will see that she was telling t to share a photo of her twin boys, Cy and Bowie and their baby brother either but has recently.

Over the pond, singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes features many snaps of her daughters on Instagram but none of her face.

Another one of this blog’s bumpwatch alums Keisha Knight-Pulliam also refuses to show her daughter Ella Grace’s face on social media.

Then there are the other extremes who don’t show their children’s faces at all, like Kerry Washington, Eva Mendes, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively until recently.

The fans demand it, and many fuss about being denied the chance to gawk at their babies, as if it their right like these who commented under one of Knight-Pulliam’s pics.

And those who do share like Tia Mowry and Solange Knowles have found themselves having to snap back and put mean trolls in their place who called both their sons ugly, as recently as a few years ago.

These reactions prove why it is not a bad idea to keep something private.

Ciara Introduces Sienna Princes After Shielding Daughter’s Face From Public For Almost a Year

At a time and era when several celebrities successfully purposefully shield their babies’ faces from the media, pop singer Ciara has decided to share her daughter’s for the first time in a new app.

On Thursday, the Body Party singer introduced her daughter with NFL quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks on the app called TraceMe.

“I’m so excited to be opening up my world to you on TraceMe,” Ciara told fans who follow her on the app. “You guys know that I tend to be private with a lot of things, but with TraceMe I can have a genuine, unfiltered connection with you all.”

It also bucks the older tradition of having a big reveal on a magazine for millions of dollars given at one time, celebrities took home million+ dollar paydays for sharing their baby’s first photos.

Gone are those days because with the advent of social media, a lot of celebs are sharing their babies first pics with their fans directly, though not all.

Zoe Saldana, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland for the first year, Brit Rochelle Humes  and others didn’t open their children up to public scrutiny. Today, Keisha Knight-Pulliam still keeps her daughter Grace’s face from her social media feed.

We never have seen Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children and most likely will never see them either. Given all the ridicule and shaming celebs like Tia Mowry received over her son, and Kimora Lee Simmons’ daughter Aoki Lee, we can see why.

Ciara explained why she chose to reveal.

“My motivation for this was to give back for all of your support throughout the years,” she explained. “We now have a special place where you can get to know more about me, and see all the fun things that go on with my music, my family, my fashion and so much more.”

The model and dancer has a 3 1/2 year old son named  Future Zahir Wilburn with her ex fiance hip hop performer Future.

Rochelle Humes Welcome Second Child, Daughter Valentina Raine

Congrats to Brit TV host and former reality TV star of E!’s Chasing The Saturdays Rochelle Humes on the birth of her second child, a baby girl.

Humes famously waited until she was in her 6th month of pregnancy with her and Radio DJ and ex boy band husband Marvin Humes. to announce the news.

The Saturdays girl band and the former JLS star are already parents to three-year-old daughter Alaia-Mai.

‘The our world is now complete Valentina Raine Humes – Happy birthday little one,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself cradling her newborn.

In an interview with the Daily MailOnline, Marvin candidly told the site as Rochelle grew closer to her due date that she was “getting zero sleep at night so it could be any day.”

He also confided about the decision to forgo finding out the baby’s sex in advance.

“With Alaia we found out (the sex) early on but with this one we thought we’d keep it a surprise as there’s so little you can keep a surprise in life and really this is life’s most beautiful surprise,” Marvin shared. “We’re really excited, I had a dream the other night that we had a boy and on the same night she had a dream we had a girl. We definitely planned to have number two. We’ve been quite lucky with the timing.”

Rochelle also dished to the press on her decision to stay mum on the pregnancy for so long.

“We wanted to keep it quiet for as long as possible. We told some close friends and they kept their mouth shut so I was impressed,” she added.

On the U.K. panel talk show Loose Women,  the singer gave clues about differences in this pregnancy which would be a clue she was having a baby of a different gender.

“I’m carrying low this time. It’s more up here [pointing to her cleavage] They’ve changed. He likes it more than I do.”

Brit TV Host Rochelle Humes’ Red Carpet Glam

Although this blog focuses mainly on pregnant American celebrities, occasionally, I like to highlight celebs from other nations in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Former E! reality TV star of the show Chasing the Saturdays Rochelle Humes piqued my interest when she was first expecting her first child Alai-Mai with her husband, former boy band member of the Group JLS, Marvin Humes.

There were reports out that she was half Sierra Leonean and I was born in Sierra Leone. However, the TV presenter has since been quoted saying it isn’t true and she was baffled how the rumor started.

Pooh! There goes my personal connection!

That revelation has not stopped me from still being happy to report on her second pregnancy.

She was stunning in a royal blue beaded Phillip Armstrong dress while attending the National Television Awards in London.

She is about 8 months pregnant and looked absolutely stunning!

Check out the photos she shared a few weeks back:

Second-time mom-to-be Rochelle Humes is not slowing down and in fact, hit signed on to join the cast of the popular children’s television series, The Teletubbies

The singer and TV presenter called it a “no-brainer” to sign on to lend her voice to a show she watched as a child.

“I’ve always been such a big fan of the Teletubbies,” Humes said in a press release about the new casting. “My sister and I used to watch it together when we were younger and as I now have a little girl, it was a real ‘no-brainer’ to be part of it. I jumped at the chance to be involved.”

The existing cast of the  series includes Jim Broadbent, another Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum, Fearne Cotton and Jane Horrocks, who all lend their voices to the “Voice Trumpets”.

The Humes‘ scenes will air in spring 2017.

This year will mark 20 years since the original series first appeared on British television, with special changes announced including a new signature song for the Tiddlytubbies (Mi-Mi, Daa Daa, Baa, Ping, RuRu, Nin, Duggle Dee and Umby Pumby).

British TV Host Rochelle Humes’s Hosting Gig Forced Pregnancy News Ouster

rochelle-humes-and-marvin

It turns out that our guesses were right that second-time mom-to-be Rochelle Humes is in her second trimester. The British girl band member who also starred in a one-season E! TV reality TV show, Chasing the Saturdays,  told the audience during a taping of the ITV show Loose Women that she was “surprised” her friends kept her pregnancy a secret.

Her husband, Marvin Humes, a former boy band member  of the British group JLS and currently a Capital FM DJ said last week that she was close to six months pregnant

They would have waited longer but a TV gig thwarted that plan.

She had to go public with her news because she and Marvin were part of the hosting team for BBC charity telethon ‘Children In Need’ , the Daily Mirror reports, and her stylist told her that she wouldn’t be able to hide her bump on television.

“It’s amazing, [Rochelle] is doing so well and she’s a real trooper. She’s nearly six months – she’s only a week away from being six months,” Marvin told  Daily Mail, Marvin. “She looks great and we’re so lucky we’re having a second child,” Marvin added. “We’re really, really excited.”

The couple are parents to 3-year old daughter Alaia-Mai and said they will not find out the baby’s sex until it is born.

“We thought it would be nice to keep it a surprise,” Marvin revealed. “We’re going to wait and see.”

Rochelle, who is a TV host of the British show The Next Great Magician almost found out the news when a psychic to the stars, including to Kim Kardashian West, wrote down the baby’s gender on a card and placed it in an envelope. The host of the show offered to reveal it but Rochelle passed because she suspected the psychic would be right.

Certainly, that would ruin the whole ‘wait and see’ thing for sure.

British TV host and former girl band member Rochelle Humes and her husband ex-boy band member Marvin Humes are expecting their second child. Marvin announced the news on his Instagram.

“Absolutely delighted to announce that Rochelle and I are extending our family!” he captioned a collage of a recent maternity photo. “We’re over the moon! Baby Humes no2 is on the way!!”

She also posted her own Instagram with the teasing caption: “Ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes, but who are you? Nobody knows…”

We covered Rochelle when she was expecting her first child, daughter Alia-Mai. Hope she has a boy this time.

Congrats!

Bellyitch alum Rochelle Humes co-hosts AOL’s first British Web Video Series

being mum

British TV personality and girl band member Rochelle Humes, a Bellyitch alum, launched a 13-episode web series “Being Mum” with co-host TV presenter Tess Daly yesterday, July 13, as part  AOL’s first British web video series.

The Verizon-communications owned American digital media company, well-known for being an Internet and email pioneer, inked a deal with Nestle to exclusively sponsor the online only show.

The program tackles what it’s like to be a mother and features interviews with top British celebrities and personalities. Being Mum will discuss everything form being a working mom, pregnancy, the highs and lows of pregnancy and motherhood, and raising children.

During a special pre-launch episode last week, UK singer Alesha Dixon talked about hiding her pregnancy  for 6 months while taping the show Britain’s Got Talent and having to ignore the baby frantically kicking every time a bell would ring during production.

Another Bellyitch Alum, ex Spice Girl girl band member Emma Bunton was featured in that July 9 special last week.

Each Monday, for the next six months, a new episode will be made available on a dedicated website, via mobile devices, on the AOL On app and set top boxes.  Jade Jagger and Paralympian and London 7/7 bombing survivor Martine Wright are among other future guests.

Nestle will run baby milk, and SMA Nutrition ads around the content and will include an unskippable 30-second pre-roll ad before each episode.

TV presenter Tess Daly interviews singer Alyesha Dixon

“Mums are now more than ever turning to digital and social platforms to find useful, helpful content, supporting them as a mum,” Anne-Luce Guedj, consumer marketing manager at Nestlé Nutrition, said in a press release.”SMA Nutrition’s partnership with Being Mum allows us to integrate our messaging with relevant, original, quality content and deliver an audience at scale across a number of publishing platforms and devices.”

New research from UK YouTube mom community Channel Mum and UK media market research group Kantar Media indicates that young Briitsh moms are open to consuming video content, and millineal moms, especially, “often seek both entertainment and practical help from video content, suggesting there’s a market for brands who can help ‘reassure’ them,” Guedj said.

It will also show on all of the AOL On network sites including The Huffington Post UK, Telegraph Media Group, Trinity Mirror, Local World and TalkTalk. The exclusive sponsorship is for the entire six months.

AOL is also planning another UK series titled “30 Something” with Richard Bacon, which is currently in production.

The future is digital video content and it’s great to  see AOL jump on the opportunity to support content providers that bring messages to the evergreen market of pregnant, new and veteran moms.

*hint hint to anyone who wants to sponsor us for 6 months** lol.

Brit singer Rochelle Humes turned down Demi Moore nude cover recreation

Our Bellytich Bumpwatch alum Rochelle Humes from the British group The Saturdays  revealed in a recent interview that she turned down many offers to recreate the iconic 1991  Demi Moore Vanity Fair cover.
When pregnant with her daughter, Alaia-Mai, in 2013, the star of the short lived E! Reality TV show Chasing the Saturdays told Notebook magazine that she spent the last couple of months leading up to her daughter’s birth rejecting numerous offers.
“I got asked to do all those (naked) shoots with the bump and I just thought it sounded like hell. No, no and no,” she told the magazine.  “Marvin was lucky if he saw me with my bump. I wanted to feel like Demi Moore looked, but I was just sweaty, spotty and yuck.”
Several celebrities in the US, UK and elsewhere have posed nude while pregnant for magazines. So there you have it, not all celebrities are eager to bare it all for the celebration of the pregnant body for the world to see. (ha!)

Beyonce isn’t the only celeb mom to shield public criticique by only showing her daughter from the back

This week, Joan Rivers is getting pushback for calling Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s daughter North, ugly during her last stand up gig.

Even though Joan’s brand of snarky and biting humor is her shtick, babies maybe should be off limits. It’s no wonder some A-listers like Beyonce Knowles  avoid showing her daughter Blue Ivy’s face to the public.

Beyonce usually only shares photos of her daughter Blue from behind
That 2-year old is subject to harsh public inquiry and has been the subject of some pretty mean memes over her hair and other physical features.
We have noticed that British girl band singer Rochelle Humes (nee Wiseman), who we bumpwatched when she was pregnant with her daughter Alaia-Mai Humes (born May 2013), also rarely shows her daughter’s face in images she posts in social media.

Other than once after Aiaia-Mai was born, she’s only been giving folks the Back of the head shot with her dad  and Rochelle’s husband former Boyband singer Marvin Humes –  a la Bey and Blue.
With all the Internet critics and wayward comediennes out there, can’t blame her, though.

What do you say?
