Sandra Bullock started the process of adopting another child from Louisiana three years ago.
And in the December 14, 2015 issue of PEOPLE magazine, the Speed actress introduces her 3½-year-old Laila daughter.
“When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here,” says Bullock, who adopted son Louis, 5, in 2010. “I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time.”
The Oscar-winner noted that there are over 400,000 children in foster care in America waiting to be adopted.
She also explained in the issue how Louis lead the way.
“Louis spearheaded this whole journey,” The Blind Side star shared, adding they had to gain her trust but eventually to new brother and sister “have since formed an inseparable bond.”
“I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren’t going anywhere,” she says of her daughter, who has brought “pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans.”
