Brooklyn Decker’s Plane Left Her While Pumping Breastmilk

brooklyn decker

Celebrities are like us. They miss their flights while running to go pump breast milk for their baby and they question the comfort of others around them when they do.

That is the story of What to Do When Expecting actress Brooklyn Decker. She took to Twitter to share and commiserate her conundrum.

It was her first trip away from her 6-month old son Hank.

“2 mechanical delays. Told we could de-plane. I did. Pumped in the bathroom,” Decker tweeted. “Returned 15 min later. Flight closed. Deeeeep breaths.”

But it was a little too long. When she returned the flight had taken off without her.

“WHO LETS PASSENGERS OFF, THEN CLOSES THE GATE SHORTLY AFTER?!? GULPS WINE MISSES BABY SOBS” she shared while sipping on wine she drank at an airport restaurant while waiting for her next flight.

And she had to deal with mom-guilt on top of it all:

“First time leaving baby. It’s only 1 night & doesn’t make sense to fly him back & forth. I’m a mess. Moms: booze is my only solution, right?” she wrote.

She mentioned that age-old conundrum many breastfeeding mom before her might have had.

“And do you pump in your seat on the flight?? Or the bathroom?? #Spiraling.”

The Grace and Frankie star also brought up the Supermom thing. You know, how we are supposed to do it all and stay on top of schedules and everyone else.

“As women and as moms we try to do it all but it sure ain’t easy,” she tweeted, adding, “Crazy thing is I got off to pump thinking, ‘I don’t want to offend the guy next to me.’ But why? He probably sucked a boob too. #winemusings.”

Yes, indeed! Perfect!

How to Stay Productive All Day

shutterstock_332362628

In the daily grind of shuttling kids around, juggling work and doing household chores, it’s all too easy to lose focus and productivity when you are constantly being pulled in so many different directions. Here are some tried and true tips to help you stay more present and focused so you get get more done:

In the Morning

Instead of browsing Instagram or Twitter first thing in the morning, start with a great mind opener that jump starts your brain, reading. Absorbing information from a book, magazine or newspaper engages your mind and gives you your daily dose of knowledge.

Set your intentions and priorities for the day. This doesn’t necessarily mean making a tangible to-do list, but perhaps just choosing three goals or setting intentions to guide your productivity throughout the day.

Ask yourself two questions, “Is this a task that can only be done by me?” and “Is it important?” If you answer with two nos, prioritize other tasks on your to-do list before this one, or better yet, delegate. Not only are you removing a task off your plate, making room for priorities, you’re empowering someone else by showing them you trust them and find them capable to finish this task themselves.

Meditation or mindfulness is great anytime throughout the day but an exceptionally great way to start your morning. Even 10 minutes of guided meditation, stretching, breathing or just a quick moment to clear your mind and relax before your day has kicked into high gear is an excellent way to welcome your day.

The benefits to exercising in the morning are plenty. You get it out of the way, leaving room for other priorities, you increase your focus throughout your day by arousing your body earlier rather than later, it boosts your metabolic rate and improves your overall mood. Opt to work out at at gym with multiple locations around town so that it’s convenient no matter where your day takes you.

In the Afternoon

Avoid distractions, especially in the afternoon after lunch when that 3 p.m. slump hits. Push yourself to stay on task and be productive even during the most difficult time of the day. After lunch, reward yourself with a 10 minute break to walk around the office or browse Facebook as long as you stayed on task for the first 50 minutes of the hour.

Track and monitor how you use your time throughout your day. Spending way too much time checking email or scrolling the Internet? Take note of this and intentionally fill your time with tasks that rank higher on your priority list.

Listening to ambient or instrumental music is great to keep you focused and on task. Avoid listening to your favorite sing-along songs since you might imagine yourself at a karaoke bar and lose sight of your goals.

We all have those moments where we think, “hmm I wonder how much a family trip to Disney World might cost?” or “I haven’t spoken to Jessica in forever, I should shoot her text.” If you’re presented with a thought or idea that might be distracting, write it down on a separate to-do list for when you give yourself a 10 minute break or later at night when you’re winding down and distractions are welcome.

In the Evening

As your day comes to an end, avoid procrastinating and leaving today’s tasks for tomorrow. Especially if it takes less than two minutes, stop putting it off and do it now. You will never regret checking one more thing off your list tomorrow.

Tidy up your space before sleeping. Waking up to a clean kitchen, bedroom or office will usher you into a more productive and efficient morning where you’re not faced with last night’s dishes or yesterday’s paperwork piled onto your desk.

Make a quick schedule for tomorrow. Even the slightest planning for the next day will ensure no time wasted and helps you maximize the waking hours of your day for ultimate efficiency and productivity.

Chrissy Teigen Keeps It All the Way Real…And gets Roasted for It…Again!

pregnant-chrissy-teigen-and-john-legend-getty

One thing fans of Chrissy Teigen love is her refreshing honesty and the fact she keeps it all the way real.

Of course, that has come back to bite her in the butt often in the form of harsh criticism and attacks.

It seems like every other day, the model and TV host is getting roasted for something she shared in social medial

I appreciated her honesty recently when she shared that she has had to wear an adult diaper for incontinence.

“No one told me i would be coming home in diapers too,” she tweeted recently.

It is indeed one of those things that no one tells you about pregnancy and new motherhood. In fact, had she been keeping a closer eye on the tweets of her bestie Kim Kardashian, she might have noticed that Kimye too blogged about that problem after she first gave birth to North a few years ago.

“People just don’t tell you all of the gross things that happen during pregnancy or after,” she wrote on her blog in 2015. “Do you know you basically have to wear a diaper for two months afterwards?! LOL! No one told me that! #SoSexy.”

In fact, urinary incontinence is very common in the postpartum period  and happens with a third of new moms.

Women who experience this don’t get back their total control of their bladder until three to six months after delivery.

A ton of women replied to her about their experience with it and just like that, 20K+ retweets later, she had raised awareness on a health problem. Bravo, Chrissy!

And just when people were simmering down about that post, she goes out on a date with her husband John Legend and within the week of welcoming her daughter, Luna.

oh boy!

She got dragged all over again by people who told her she should be home breastfeeding and not on a date so soon after delivery.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

I think PopSugar’s Maggie Winterfeldt summed it up well in her piece defending Teigen:

A child’s entire well-being is based on the mother during gestation, and we give pregnant women due allowances for the extra rest, food, and exercise needs they have in the process of growing human life — and yet as soon as that baby is born, when it’s time for the tremendous task of raising a child, that same woman’s status is reduced from sacred vessel to tireless caregiver. Her needs as a woman are no longer respected, yet we expect her to continue to perform as wife, mother, and often a member of the workforce. But with nothing to fuel her, she can only give so much.

Well said!

The manner in which you handle your kids clothing is of utmost importance. If you manage to keep the clothes in the best condition, they will be purchased even at a lesser price. Selling all your items may be better than selling a few.
