Celeb moms at 2015 People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet and Show

Tonight, not only did a Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum co-host the People’s Choice Awards LIVE from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California, but several were up for awards and took home statutes at the show controlled by viewers.

Bumpwatch alum Anna Farris and her Moms CBS co-star Allison Janney hosted the event which had our past featured moms up against one another. Scarlett Johansson, Kerry Washington, Zoe Saldana, Tina Fey, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Emily Deschanel, Tea Leoni, Angelina Jolie, Mayim Bialik, Hayden Panattiere, Alyssa Milano, Kate Winslet, Carrie Underwood, Hillary Shelton’s “Lady Antebellum” and Ellen Pompeo were all up for awards in various categories. Lady Antebellum, Underwood and Pompeo won in their categories. While projects and shows starring Winslet (Divergent), Jolie (Maleficent) and Bialik (The Big Bang Theory) won as well. Anna Farris looked sultry in a Juan Carlos Obando top and fishtail skirt, strappy Jimmy Choo heels, accented with Irene Neuwirth earrings and a Graziela Gems ring.

Anna Farris and Allison Janney, co star of the CBS show Moms coordinated well while hosting the show. Love the matching white pant suit. Very “Twins”-ish! ha!

Hillary Scott was looking fab and showing off leg in a Yigal Azrouel dress, worn with shoes by Ralph Lauren and a Jimmy Choo purse. Her Lady Antebellum bandmates Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley looked dapper as well, though Kelley explained on the red carpet to Giuliana Rancic that he had ripped his pants in the inseam on the car ride to the show. oops!

Hot Pink was the color Kristen Bell chose to wear while making her first public appearance since giving birth to daughter Delta this past December. She was rocking an interesting layered Monique Lhullier dress with silver Christian Louboutin pumps and accented with Neil Lane jewelry, and a Jimmy Choo clutch.

I personally loved Giulana Rancic in a mint green Tony Ward dress which gave me a retro 50’s feel and the hair is perfect to match.

Carrie Underwood switches from veganism to vegetarianism during pregnancy

Carrie Underwood is following in the footsteps of past vegan celebrities who became pregnant Natalie Portman and Alyson Hannigan.

Like them, Underwood has adjusted her diet and became vegetarian presumably to ensure the baby she’s incubating is adequately developed and not hindered by her diet choice.

Hannigan actually started eating cheese and meat temporarily while pregnant, Celebrity Baby Scoop reports.

And Underwood, a former American Idol winner & multi-award winning singer said she plans to go back to veganism after baby arrives.

“With pregnancy, I am definitely going more on the vegetarian side, but as soon as I am not pregnant anymore I will go back to being vegan,” Underwood has said. “I don’t think I am craving anything too crazy. I try to keep it as healthy as possible and try to take care of myself.”

Alicia Silverstone and Emily Deschanel famously stuck with their veganism thru their respective first pregnancies and both delivered healthy babies. To each its own. Your thoughts? Do you think it was wise for Underwood to switch to vegetatianism from veganism while pregnant?

This week, quite a few of our most fab and famous celebrity moms celebrated birthdays. Kim Kardashian West and Amber Rose ironically share a birthday on October 21, ironic because Rose was a longtime girlfriend of Kardashian West’s husband Kanye West.

Monica Brown celebrated on Friday, October 24th and spent part of it nursing her daughter Laiyah who she Instagrammed about taking to Childrens’ Hospital in Atlanta. Get well soon, sweet girl.

Happy Birthday, today to Ciara who posed with the symbol for the astrological sign for Sagittarius, the Goat. She shares a birthday with country singer and recent mom to twins Chely Wright.

Kelly Rowland is not the first celebrity to work out intensely while pregnant

Just saw on The Wendy Williams Show mention that Kelly Rowland is apparently catching a lot of flak from fans on the Internet over her Instagram pics showing that the Destiny’s Child band member and chart topping solo artist has been having an active pregnancy which includes working out regularly.

Unfortunately, many of her critics must be unaware that maintaining an active lifestyle including regular exercise is actually recommended by doctors so long as it is done in moderation, is balanced with hydration and a healthy diet and is keeping with the type of activity the mom-to-be had before she got pregnant. In other words, inactive cubicle hermits shouldn’t be doing what she is doing to stay fit while pregnant but a globe-trotting performer who dances regularly can. Furthermore, she is not the only physically active and currently pregnant celebrity. MTV’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, who is expecting her second child currently with fiance Jionni LaValle, frequenlty shares photos from the gym during this second pregnancy.

Also, former WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler, who also known for being the long time ex girlfriend of George Clooney has been on several fitness magazines and done many interviews where she shares all of her work out secrets. She does Pilates 4 times a day and for the “Making of” video for her Fit Pregnancy cover shoot, she explained that she has been working out most days of her pregnancy doing muscle toning work outs sometimes four times a day, playing tennis, hiking, golfing and meditating. Her trainer noted in that Daily Mail article that said Keibler doesn’t eat junk food and eats clean. During her recent baby shower, hosts provided guests healthy sugar-, dairy- and gluten-free foods. Again, it’s all about the type of woman she was before pregnancy. It doesn’t change after pregnancy and just because you didn’t used to see it in social media doesn’t mean Rowland wasn’t a work out fiend before.

Other celebrities like Married to Jonas star Danielle Jonas, who recently welcomed her first child with husband Kevin Jonas, Instagrammed themselves working out often during their respective pregnancies and didn’t seem to get much push-back.

Fashion Faves from Spring Network TV Upfronts’ redcarpet (PHOTOS)

Ladies of CBS’ The Talk (Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Taylor, and Julie Chen) at the CBS Network Upfront presentation at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in New York.

Each Spring, cable and broadcast television networks trot out their biggest stars to be featured on their upcoming season shows and present them before the press, ad buyers, execs, and the industry in general. It’s also a great time for celeb watchers to gawk at some of the fab outfits the stars and cast members choose to wear.

Here is a selection of our a few of our favorite looks from Bellyitch alums, moms and other notables who hit the various red carpets before heading in to their respective event.

Bones actress Emily Deschanel graced the event as well looking still as healthy as ever since we followed her Vegan pregnancy in 2011.

Totally stalking this African trend print blouse and mini skirt on Condola Rashad who stars in Hieroglyph. Rashad is daughter to famous TV mom Phylicia Rashad with sports TV anchor Ahmad Rashad.

Pageboy meets French Provencal. We get it. It works for Camren Bicondova who will also star in Gotham.

The Help‘s Octavia Spencer looked beautiful as she prepares to star in Red Star Society this fall.

The Mindy Project returns this fall with actors Chris Messina, Mindy Kaling, and Ike Barinholtz

To no surprise Scandal returns with Katie Lowes, Darby Stanchfield, and Bellamy Young

Felicity Huffman at the Entertainment Weekly & ABC Upfronts Party at Toro on May 13, 2014 in New York City. Huffman stars in American Crime this fall.

Tracee Ellis Ross returns to TV in ABC’s Black-ish this fall, seen here in sunny yellow and fab pink pumps at the Entertainment Weekly/ABC party. What an unexpected color combo! Laurence Fishburne exec produces the show that will star the daughter of the iconic Diana Ross.

Lana Parilla worked this turquoise blue jumper looking sweet and unlike the witch she portrays in her dark fairy tale show Once Upon a Time.

Viola Davis will star in How to Get Away with Murder this fall.

Minnie Driver, who will star in About a Boy, is gorgeous. That is all.

Tina Fey is back at her genius this time presenting the show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt which stars Ellie Kemper . And Black and White is still hot isn’t it?

It should be against the law for Anne Heche to look so amazingly fab though we would’ve gone with a less pale shade of pink so not to wash her out in photos like here.

Original Bellyitch Bumpwatch mom Halle Berry is working it in these harem pants and returns to the small screen to star in CBS’ drama about an astronaut who returns whom after living in outer space for a year in Extant this fall. We call it the “Gravity” effect. ha!

We didn’t expect our fairly recent Bellyitch Bumpwatch mom Ana Faris to go back to looking precisely the same as before giving birth so soon, but alas, she has and does a feminine pale pink lace pencil-skirt length dress justice. She stars in the CBS show Mom.

Celeb Moms Rock People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet (PHOTOS)

Last night, at the People’s Choice Awards held January 8, LIVE at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Califrornia, many of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch moms of the past graced the red carpet looking amazing.

Here are those we spotted:

Jennifer Hudson stole the night with her moving speech accepting the Humanitarian award for a charity she founded after her mother, brother and nephew were gunned down in Chicago. Before that moment, she wowed in a white fitted Kaufmanfranco dress from the Spring 2014 line and some cute sandals with perfected understated matted lips. It matched well with her new pixie cut and bronzed eye shadow. Perfect!

Britney Spears was a big winner last night, walking away with a Favorite Female Performer, Favorite Pop Singer and Fan Music Favorite awards. She looked sizzling hot in a nude with black embroidered accent Mikael D dress from the designers’ Fall 2013 line

Malin Akerman was showing off the girls in a Cushnie Et Ochs Spring 2014 dress with an interesting window peephole front in the bodice. Not feeling it much. But the mary janes on her feet are rocking.

Heidi Klum did it again in another over-the-top look this time by Giorgio Armani from his Fall 2013 collection. She went with Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. No comment.

Anna Faris looked absolutely stunning in a fitted sheer nude floor-length Naeem Khan top and skirt set. She walked the carpet with hubby Chris Pratt.

Jessica Alba did Winter White as well in a fitted Jason Wu bandage dress with gold accents and white Casadei pumps with Jennifer Meyer jewels. She definitely was on the best dressed list this round.

Sarah Michelle Gellar donned a Sachin + Babi dress which looked elegant though looked a bit too matronly for the youngish actress. Similarly the Jimmy Choo heels were safe and a bit underwelming. She accented the black and white ensemble with Neil Lane jewels.

Sandra Bullock looked amazing in a Peter Pilotto Resort 2014 embroidered overlay dress. The parted hair was a winner and her neutral makeup flawless. Gawgeous, Sandy!

Emily Deschanel in a BCBGMAXAZRIA dress accented by Miss Delicious shoes, House of Lavande earrings, Swarovski ring and an Edie Parke clutch. Cute. Can we have the shoes?

Melissa Joan Hart’s hair, make up looked gorgeous. The Swarvoski earrings were on point, matched with an Oroton clutch. She’s catching flak today for her strapless asymmetrical El Lay dress which isn’t really bad at all. It’s colorful and stands out, works with her shape and has people talking. Last fall, she released a book “Melissa Explains it All” which detailed heavy drug use and random hook-ups with celeb co-stars. Oh my! These Disney stars boy!

Mom to be Drew Barrymore won a Spring 2014 Vionnet dress which lacked shape and had her lookgin boxy. Barrymore joked on stage, while giving out the award for Favorite Comedic movie, about Ellen DeGeneres calling her fat as a joke. Barrymore is expecting her second child with hubby Will Kopelman.

Our 2017 People’s Choice Awards Run down

Blake Lively, Kristen Bell, Ali Arter and Jennifer Lopez attended the 2017 People’s Choice Awards.

I love the People’s Choice Awards, held this year at Microsoft Theater on January 18, 2017 in Los Angeles, California, for several reasons: 1) the nominees include a broad array of actors, actresses and TV shows, movies and bits that the average person enjoys, not just critics, film producers and elites; 2) they spread the love around and there isn’t one show or person that dominates all the awards; and 3) they have fun category like best collaboration. I mean the nominees this year for that category included:

Conan O’Brien’s Ride Along with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart

Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Spears’ Mall Mischief

James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke with Adele

Lip Sync Battle with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum

Saturday Night Live with Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon

How fun, eh?!?

A bunch of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums presented like Jada Pinkett Smith in Dolce&Gabbana and Christian Louboutin shoes and Ali Larter, who looked stunning in a cute pink strapless Zac Posen mini dress.

A lot were nominated too: Adele, Beyonce, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Kerry Washington, Kelly Ripa, Lucy Liu, Claire Danes, Ellen Pompeo, Hilary Duff, Keri Russell, Zoe Saldana, Scarlett Johanssen, EMily Blunt, Anna Farris, Zoe Deschanel, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, for example. See…what I mean? They nominate everyone!

And then there were the winners: Jennifer Lopez, who stunned in a Reem Acra gown, Brian Atwood shoes, and H. Stern jewels won for Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress.

Brand new second-time mom Blake Lively showed out in in a black fringe Elie Sabb mini dress to pick up her win for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress for her role in The Shallows.

Kristen Bell got two: a win for the Favorite Actress in a New TV Series for her role in The Good Place and her popular movie Bad Moms won for Favorite Comedic Movie.

Grey’s Anatomy Sarah Drew, Fuller House’s Jodie Sweetin and Grey’s Camilla Luddington, who is in her third trimester of pregnancy and looking fabulous.

Sarah Drew in a Self-Portrait mini dress and Camilla Ludington‘s show Grey’s Anatomy won for Favorite Network TV Drama. Luddington wore a black and sheer mid-length Heidi Merrick dress, Casadei pumps and jewels by Established Jewelry. Fuller House and cast were on hand to accept their win for the Favorite Premium Comedy Series, including Jodie Sweetin attended. She juxtaposed her inner rocker girl in a Linea Pelle Collection leather jacket with a dainty wearing a feminine floor-length floral dress from Sheri Hill underneath.

Sofia Vergara was statuesque in Marchesa and Neil Lane jewels while winning the award for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.

Carrie Underwood wasn’t there but she walked away with the Favorite Female Country Artist award.

The biggest winner among all our alums was Britney Spears who nabbed the Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Social Media Celebrity and the Favorite Comedic Collaboration for her “Mall Mischief” bit with Ellen DeGeneres. She was a no-show, however. Poo.

On sharing due dates with a major celebrity mom-to-be

Nine-months pregnant writer Emily Gould wrote a well thought-out piece in yesterday’s Racked.com which I could relate to much. In it, she talks about being fascinated with the pregnancies of celebrities like Kate Middleton, Zooey Deschanel, Keira Knightley and other celebrities also expecting as she is.

Even though Gould knows these women have different pressures of having to incubate a child under the watchful eye of cameras and the public, she still feels a sort of kindred kinship with these ladies and for that reason has kept up with their respective pregnancies in the media. She knows sort of what they are going through and can relate.

It reminded me of how this blog launched eight years ago. Like Gould, I too was expecting and found comfort in keeping up with media coverage of Halle Berry, Garcelle Beauvais, Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera, Jenna Elfman and Salma Hayek who, back then, were also expecting. Along with blogging about my own personal third and final pregnancy, I’d sprinkle in some post here and there about these ladies. But dissimilar to Gould, who suspects that she will “be over” the celebrity pregnant thing after she gives birth, my fascination and appreciation continued and hence we have the Bellyitch Blog of today which brings readers a good dose of celeb bump watch, sprinkled in between fashion, parenting tips and news and studies related to pregnancy, parenting and children.

And so…today, we are officially on baby watch #2 with Kate Middleton who is officially due this Saturday and sources say is close to giving birth to her second child any moment now! Still exciting!
