30+ Celebrity-inspired Costumes

Take a stroll back to Halloween 2014 and check out all the celebrity -inspired Halloween costumes of the past, some celebrity parents and their kids, and some celebrity-inspired costumes such as these two babies dressed as Beyoncé and Jay Z in front of the portrait of Mona Lisa as during the couple’s Paris visit this fall.

Meanwhile, the actual Carters went as The Jacksons, Janet and Michael.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and North West inspired this duo’s costume. Fun!

The Real Kim and North paid homage to Vogue editors with Kim dressed as editor in chief Anna Wintour, North as editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley and friends dressed as the creative director who decided to put Kimye on the cover Grace Coddington with another toddler dressed as designer Karl Lagerfeld.

22 Sexy & Fashionable Virgo Celebs

As this month is a fashionable one with all the various designers unveiling their Spring 2016 and Fall 2015 collections on runways at various cities’ respective Fashion Weeks, and it being Virgo season, I thought I would highlight all the fashionable celebrity moms and designers we’ve covered in Bellyitch over the years.

Tom Ford also infamously said, “You know, the world might be a very scary place if it were only run by Virgos.” True, but every organization needs a Virgo in it to keep it running smoothly. So does the world!

I admit I am biased given my birthday was on September 6 and I myself am a proud Virgo and share a birthday with at least one spouse of a Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum and the sign with other alums (above) including the Queen Bee Beyonce (Sept. 4), Country singer Jennifer Nettles, (Sept. 12), TV host and former model Padma Lakshmi (Sept. 1) , Songstress P!nk (Sept. 8) and powerhouse singer and actress Jennifer Hudson (Sept. 12).

Our Virgo Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums who are actual designers include Stella McCartney (Sept. 13), Nicole Richie (Sept. 21), and Rachel Zoe (Sept.1)

Male Fashion Icons and Designers I love and admire (either for their fashion sense, work ethic or a combo of both) include: my birthday mate and alum Idris Elba (Sept. 6), Tom Ford (Aug. 27), Karl Lagerfeld (Sept. 10); and guys whose S.O. we recently covered Wiz Khalifa, ex to Amber Rose (Sept. 8) and Evan Ross, spouse to Ashlee Simpson (Aug. 26).

Young and/other influential in-demand Fashionable women I enjoy seeing dressed up as fashion muses for several designers: Taraji P. Henson (Sept. 11), KeKe Palmer (Aug. 26), Misty Copeland (Sept. 10), Zendaya Coleman (Sept 1) and Angela Simmons (Sept 18).

Finally, fashion forward and super sexy Salma Hayek (Setp. 2), Jada Pinkett Smith (Sept 18) and Sanaa Lathen (Sept. 19) also rock the Virgo Virgin sign well.

And of course Ludacris (Sept 14), rounding up for pops of recent alum Eudoxie.

National Dog Day: 22 Celebrity Parents and their Dogs

Kate Middleton maternity fave Madderson London hits a US store

One of the designers that Kate Middleton wore while pregnant with her daughter has hit the US shores!

Luxury British label Madderson London will be sold in US maternity apparel designer and retailer A Pea in the Pod starting next month.

The store will start by stocking five Madderson styles including an exclusive version of Catherine Duchess of Cambridge‘s Naomi shift dress (above). The A Pea in the Pod version is made of navy jersey, updated with new French tweed in green, gold and white statement accents on the pockets and hemline.

The label was founded in 2012 by Sara Madderson and Helen Hughes and features maternity and womenswear targeting style-conscious fashion mavens.

The initial collection will also feature a silk dress, solk tops and a navy cardigan ranging in price from $155 to $299. It will also be available at select Destination Maternity stores.

New styles will stock in the Fall.

A Pea in the Pod is a fave and has been worn by many of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums including Jessica Simpson, Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek, Nicole Richie, Amy Adams, Busy Philipps and others.

On sharing due dates with a major celebrity mom-to-be

Nine-months pregnant writer Emily Gould wrote a well thought-out piece in yesterday’s Racked.com which I could relate to much. In it, she talks about being fascinated with the pregnancies of celebrities like Kate Middleton, Zooey Deschanel, Keira Knightley and other celebrities also expecting as she is.

Even though Gould knows these women have different pressures of having to incubate a child under the watchful eye of cameras and the public, she still feels a sort of kindred kinship with these ladies and for that reason has kept up with their respective pregnancies in the media. She knows sort of what they are going through and can relate.

It reminded me of how this blog launched eight years ago. Like Gould, I too was expecting and found comfort in keeping up with media coverage of Halle Berry, Garcelle Beauvais, Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera, Jenna Elfman and Salma Hayek who, back then, were also expecting. Along with blogging about my own personal third and final pregnancy, I’d sprinkle in some post here and there about these ladies. But dissimilar to Gould, who suspects that she will “be over” the celebrity pregnant thing after she gives birth, my fascination and appreciation continued and hence we have the Bellyitch Blog of today which brings readers a good dose of celeb bump watch, sprinkled in between fashion, parenting tips and news and studies related to pregnancy, parenting and children.

And so…today, we are officially on baby watch #2 with Kate Middleton who is officially due this Saturday and sources say is close to giving birth to her second child any moment now! Still exciting!

10 Maternity Style Ideas for the Petite Pregnant woman

Just resharing an old 2013 post just because I realize how great these looks ar for Petite (under 5’3″) pregnant women who want style inspiration ideas:

We thought we’d check in and share some of the recent fab looks from our favorite Instagram fashion mom-to-be Wadrobeinventory.

Since we last visited, she has managed to keep her maternity style well into her final trimester. The mom of two recently fabulously pulled off the above look which features a Theory blazer under A Pea In the Pod skirt, accented with Christian DKNY aviators, Christian Louboutin heels and a Hermes Birkin bag. She is keeping it stylish even at 34 weeks pregnant.

There’s been much talk over Kim Kardashian’s fashion misses as she struggles to dress her bump. Several sites and commenters to stories have exclaimed that it is not easy or virtually impossible to look stylish while pregnant. We beg to differ and know several women who have managed to pull it off and without much effort.

Since our last profile, this haute mom at 24 weeks looked well put together in an Abercrombie & Fitch sweater, a Lavish scarf, Heidi Klum jeggins under a Guess Military style jacket and pulled together with a pair of Uggs boots, DKNY aviaors and a Louis Vuitton carry all.

A month later at 28 weeks, she wore a large flower pin over a belt and layered complementing scarfs over a Banana Republic Vince top and A Pea in the Pod leggings with Stuart Weitzman boots and Chanel bag. FAB!

We’re loving this look of our blog favorite Isabella Oliver top over a J Crew tiered skirt paired with Stuart Weitzman suede booties, Motherhood Maternity tights, Tiffany & Co bracelets and a Banana Republic brooch to top off this flirty yet pristine outfit.

For this smart office look, Ms Wardrobe Inventory donned a flower pin over a Theory dress layered under a pinstripe wool blazer from Banana Republic. She managed to get a quality pair of Motherhood Maternity tights on sale and is pulling the entire look together with a Chanel cross-body bag and Louboutin heels.

A J Screw skirt in mustard, Ann Taylor top in unsuspecting colors pulled this look togetehr which is accentuated with low Louboutin heels as she totes a burgundy Balenciaga bag. Love it!

She was rocking layered Stella and Dot necklaces with her Ann Taylor dress belted by a Banana Republic piece and brightened by a scarf from Nicole Richie and bottomed out with J Crew leggins. Michael Kors jewelry brightened the look with Stuart Weitzman boots, Hermes Birkin bag. Who looks this fab at 29 weeks?

Mom decided to get a chic mommy bob! And it worked so well with her Vince top under a J Crew sweater and paired with her Stuart Weitzman knee high boots and a Longchamp bag. The above the bump, below the breast bone belt was by Ann Taylor and she added some shiny bracelets from Kate Spade and Juicy Couture. Working it like it’s hot at 25 weeks.

Because all pregnant women usually can work a Maxi dress, she went with this Nordstrom brand maxi desses, under a Hinge Sweater, draped with a Banana Republic scarf and polished with a Birkin band and Stuart Weitzman boots. She was 30 weeks here.

Last week as she entered her 34th week of pregnancy, for Easter, she pulled off this Isabella Oliver top, J Crew skirt, set off with Stella and Dot bracelets, Saks Fifth Avenue accessories, nude Louboutin pumps and a Gucci clutch.
