In Bump Watch News: Beyonce, Tori Spelling and Hannah Jeter

bumpwatch

I must admit that I enjoy that the Bey Hive is on patrol to shut down critics of Beyonce in the comment section to articles about her like this one below about her first major 3-hour shopping trip after announcing her news. Go Beygency, Go!

Oh and in other pregnant celebrity news, Tori Spelling posted a photo of herself at close to term on her social media account.

And after having very public and rumored relationships  with a bunch of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums like Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, Vanessa Lachey, Jessica Biel, and Adriana Lima, ex MLB star Derek Jeter and his Victoria Secret swimsuit model wife Hannah Jeter are expecting their first child together since marrying

She posted a bump photo on Instagram recently.

And now a repost of the E! article about Bey:

If you were browsing the racks at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills Thursday, you were in some special company.

Fresh off her 2017 Grammys performance and wins, Beyoncé made a rare public appearance at the luxury department store during its regular open hours and spent about three hours shopping.

The 35-year-old pop star, who is expecting twins with husband Jay Z, dressed casually in a black printed T-shirt and shorts and white sneakers and was accompanied by a group of bodyguards.

She did not buy children’s items. She walked through several floors, looking at designer gowns, purses, jewelry and shoes. She purchased a $1,225 pair of redIsabel Marart Laith leather knee-high boots, a pair of Ulla Johnson shoes and Nike sneakers, a source told E! News exclusively.

Beyoncé spent about 20 minutes in the store’s Barneys Bungalow, a specialty space where gowns from Prabal Gurung, J. Mendel, Lanvin, JC Obando, Monique Lhuillier, YSL and Manolo Blahnik and other designer brands, as well as luxury tuxedos and accessories, are displayed in honor of Hollywood’s award season. Several racks of dresses and other items were brought out for the singer, who sat on a light green couch.

“Beyoncé tried on several dresses but began not to feel well and was tired,” the source said.

“She seemed very nice and was very casual,” the source added about the singer’s visit. “She had several bodyguards around her and everyone in the store was chatting about her being there.”

The source also said Beyoncé has bought children’s items at Barney’s in the past.

The singer announced her pregnancy on Feb. 1 via a baby bump photo posted on her Instagram page. She followed it up with a full album of maternity pics, which also featured her and Jay Z’s 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

Last weekend, Beyoncé showcased her baby bump publicly for the first time, at the 2017 Grammys, where she won two awards and gave a much-talked about maternity-themed performance.

Which Designers Dressed the Celeb Moms of the 2017 Golden Globe Red Carpet

yellow-golden-globe

We love to keep track of the celeb moms that we covered on the blog while they were expecting their respective bambinos when we spot them on the red carpet at award shows and other former industry events.

This past Sunday, we spotted a ton of Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums and they all looked great! Some, like currently expecting Natalie Portman (in Prada), Kerry Washington (in Dolce & Gabbana and clutch, Sophia Webster shoes, and Niwaka jewelry); and Viola Davis  (above in sunny yellow Michael Kors Collection dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Harry Winston jewels, and Judith Leiber clutch.) were nominated, and Davis won for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in the movie “Fences”.

Others like, Reese Witherspoon (in Atelier Versace with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Tyler Ellis clutch.) presented on stage.

We, like many other fashion sites and bloggers, noticed some clear trends such as the Yellow trend. Also, there were a lot of women in metallics on the carpet as well.

golden-globe-mettalics

Loved Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen gown, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Fred Leighton jewelry with her own engagement ring, an Omega watch, and a Judith Leiber bag; Regina King ( in a Ramona Keveza dress, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, and jewelry by Butani, L’Dezen, and Yvel while carrying a Tadashi bag); Chrissy Teigen (in a Marchesa dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and a Jimmy Choo clutch) and Kristin Cavallari  (in an Idan Cohen dress, Hearts On Fire  and Doves jewels)

black-and-white-gg

Black and White was another common theme: Teresa Palmer (in an Armani Prive dress, Niwaka jewelry, Sophia Webster shoes, and a Jimmy Choo bag. ( Heidi Klum (in a J Mendel dress, Giuseppe Zanottti shoes and clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.); and Sienna Miller in a Michale Kors Collection gown, Bally shoes, a Christian Louboutin clutch, and Tiffany & Co jewelry).

ornate-and-structure

Some dresses were ornate and had lots of unique draping and structure: Busy Phillips (in a Stella McCartney dress and Irene Neuwirth jewelry); Jessica Biel (in an Elie Saab Haute Couture sleeveless deep-v neckline gown with black velvet bodice and mini checkerboard print skirt set with sequins, embellished with flowers in silk mousseline, sequins, crystal stones, silk threads and beads and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, an Elie Saab dress, and Neil Lane jewelry); Anna Chlumsky ( in a Roland Mouret dress, Loeffler Randall shoes, H Stern earrings, Hearts on Fire rings, and Tyler Ellis bag) and Carrie Underwood (in an Iris Serban gown, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Yoko London jewelry, and a Tadashi Shoji clutch.)

deep-v-and-mixed-metallic-and-fabric

We also saw a lot of very deep cut neckline and a few like Thandie Newton ( in a gorgeous white Monse dress with metallic train, Harry Winston jewelry, and Jimmy Choo shoes., Drew Barrymore ( in a Monique Lhuillier dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and Harry Winston jewelry.); Felicity Huffman (in Georges Chakra jumpsuit, Martin Katz jewelry, and Christian Louboutin shoes) and Blake Lively ( in and Atelier Versace dress, Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.)

Election Tuesday: Hillary Clinton and Celebs Pantsuit Fashion

pant-suit

This Election Tuesday, US Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is responsible for a new fashion trend among her supporters: the Pant Suit. The former First Lady is known for wearing color coordinated monochromatic suits.

They have become an item which has become synonymous with her brand so much so that Beyonce  and her backup dancers wore pantsuits during a political rally this weekend in Philadelphia.

Also, a recently created secret Facebook group called Pantsuit Nation has quickly garnered over 1.6M members. They have been posting photos of themselves in pantsuits as they head to the polls today.

We couldn’t help but use the opportunity to point out all the times in the recent past when some of the celeb moms we’ve “bumpwatched” in the past  such as Christina Milian, Jessica Alba and Garcelle Beauvais rocked fabulous pantsuits.

Beyonce and her sister Solange, both in hot pink Gucci suits within months of one another. Nicole Kidman looked fierce in a Valentino suit with a caped suit top one year. Jessica Biel wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit matching one worn by her husband Justin Timberlake at his Runner Runner premiere in Las Vegas.

Rachel Zoe looked tres stylish in a royal blue satin-trimmed tuxedo suit from her own label to the Giambattista Valli show in Paris in recent years.

In Lieu of A Columbus Day Post, Here are 3 Celeb Moms with Native American Heritage

native american celebrity

In lieu of a Columbus Day Post, we’re sharing tidbits of 3 Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums who have Native American heritage. It is also Thanksgiving in Canada today and they too are celebrating the indigenous people who lived there before European settlers arrived.

Did you know….

Angelina Jolie‘s mother, the late Marcheline Bertrand, claimed Native American ancestry. She and her partner, Native American activist and poet John Trudell, founded the All Tribes Foundation to benefit Native Americans.

Jessica Biel’s mother’s family is part Native American.

A feature in Vogue in 2010 read “those crazy-high cheekbones are shared by her younger brother, mother, and grandmother. When she tells me that her parents dehydrate their own food, culture their own vegetables, and make their own coconut kefir, I can’t help laughing. ‘I actually do, too’” she says.”

Cree Summer  grew up on the Red Pheasant Reserve in Saskatchewan. Her dad Don Franks, a Canadian musician and her mom Lili Red Eagle, an African American from Cali raised Summer on a reservation and she is an adopted member of the Plains Cree First Nations.

Glamour Writer: ‘Quit Clicking Those Celeb ‘After Baby Body’ Headlines’

how i got my baby back

Yesterday, in Glamour  new mom and writer Petra Guglielmetti calls out the celeb media’ obsession with the post delivery celeb mom, in her piece, “Let’s Stop Clicking on Stories About Celebrities’ Post-Baby Bodies”.

Here is an excerpt:

Today I “stepped out post-baby,” also known in the tabloids as debuting my post-baby body. At least I think today would be considered my official debut—I left the house to work at a cafe after months of maternity leave. According to the headlines, celebrity moms debut themselves after childbirth in a variety of ways. Some, like Blake Lively, “display” and/or “flaunt” their post-baby selves by wearing clothing—not even necessarily revealing clothing—to press events. Many “show off” en route to the gym, a la Jessica Biel. Others simply venture out in public with a friend, like Jaime King (“Less than weeks after giving birth to baby Leo, Jaime King is already making her way out into the world.” Less than weeks? And wow, to think, boldly being visible out in public like that.) Apparently, when you are famous and have just given birth, such normal-seeming activities become debuts, opportunities for the world to examine how well your looks fared during that whole growing-and-birthing-a-human-being thing…..

….It’s hard not to click on these stories, even though we realize we shouldn’t encourage paparazzi to stalk new moms, who are already vulnerable, riding a roller coaster of stress and hormones. (Yes, professional actors sign up for a certain amount of media attention, but motherhood—especially new motherhood—should be sacred, no matter how high-profile you are.) We click even though we realize we should not compare ourselves to people who have full-time nannies and on-call glam squads. We click even though we realize that every woman’s build and metabolism and biology is unique; most of us didn’t have Jessica Alba’s post-baby abs before we had kids. We click even though we know we’ll glimpse comments that make us lose faith in humanity (“Looks like her boobies have deflated!”).

She then goes on to express her experiences of living life fully after delivering her baby and under different standards and without the flashing lights and glare of the public. She confesses that the media stories about celebs, however,  can impact women’s opinion of their own post-baby bodies. Finally, Guglielmetti proposes we all work to end it:

Here’s what I propose: Let’s stop clicking. Just decide here and now that we’re not doing it anymore. It’s one little-but-big way in which we can make our world a kinder place for new moms, and women in general. When you see any headline with any variation on “post-baby body” in it, just don’t click. As someone who has been employed as an online writer for a long time now, I promise you that editors will notice that we’re all not clicking and that those stories will dwindle and eventually disappear. Wouldn’t that be lovely?

I’m down. We don’t really cover post-baby bodies that much anymore here so, less clicks for our competitors sounds lovely! ha!

Just kidding, we believe in the message. and have blogged similar themes before so Bravo, Petra!

2014 Academy Awards Red Carpet: Celebrity Mom Nominees take over (PHOTOS)

Last night, all the A-List stars came out to shine at the 86th annual Academy Awards show at the Hollywood & Highland Center  on Sunday, March 2.
It was a night of firsts as Lupita Nyong’o, Best Supporting Actress winner, became the first African to win an Oscar and the film that made her a star 12 Years A Slave became the first movie directed by a black person, Steve McQueen, to win Best Picture in the award show’s history.
It’s awesome because the story is based on an autobiography written by Solomon Northup about his real life experience being born a free man but kidnapped by sinister smugglers and forced to live as a slave for 12 years of his life. The screenplay adaptation was a black guy too, John Ridley, making it the first time a story of slavery told from those whose ancestors endured it was recognized by the institution.  In other words, this wasn’t the romanticized Gone With the Wind version of that sordid past but a song of truth from those who lived it and endured under it. The acknowledgment last night is being characterized as a win for history.
But enough heavy stuff. Now to fashion!
A couple of our bumpwatch moms, Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde looked absolutely amazing on the red carpet. Washington went with a lovely lavender Jason Wu  Goddess dress set to loose cascading curls and dark magenta lips. Her hands dripped in Jennifer Meyer Jewels and she went with jeweled silver Christian Louboutin pumps and a Judith Leiber bag.
Meanwhile, Wilde looked gorgeous in a black Valentino dress as well as she appeared on the carpet with her fiance Jason Sudeikis. The couple are expecting their first child together this year.
Another baby bump that stole the red carpet was that of gorgeous Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky who is expecting twins with her super hot hubby Chris Hemsworth. This will be the second and third children for the couple that are already parents to a one year old.
Other past Bellyitch Bumpwatch moms and other moms and parents to hit the carpet who caught our eye included:
Lincoln’s mama Kristen Bell  looked super fab with her super cinched in waist in that embellished jeweled Roberto Cavalli corset and fishtail skirt. She did the light blue box clutch and accented with Piaget Jewels and Brian Atwood heels. Love it!
Julia Roberts looked a bit awkward with her pose in a black Givency peplum dress with black lace underlay. The Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role in August Osage accented her look with  Bvlagari jewels. Roberts won a Best Actress Oscar when she portrayed Erin Brockovich in 2000.
Camila Alves wore a satin draped Gabriela Cadena gown with a matching clutch while accompanying her husband who later won the Best Actor in a Motion Picture award for his role in Dallas Buyer’s Club, Matthew McCongaughey who looked dapper in a Dolce & Gabbana tux.
Sandra Bullock was old Hollywood glam in a stunning Alexander McQueen dark blue gown featuring sweetheart cut neckline and draping. The look worked for the actress who won in year’s past for her 2009 role in The Blind Side.
Charlize Theron gave us life in her custom  Christian Dior Couture gown and what looks like a super sheer skirt revealing a svelte silhouette. Theron won a Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal in the 2003 movie Monster.
Kate Hudson was va va Glam in  a silver satin long sleeved Atelier Versace. Hudson was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Penny Lane in Almost Famous.
Angelina Jolie accompanied her husband Brad Pitt who executive produced the movie that walked away with the Best Film award 12 Years A Slave.  Jolie, who looked gorgeous in a jeweled Elie Saab gown with sheer sleeve last night, got an Academy Best Supporting nod in 2009 for  a role in Changeling.
Penélope Cruz was all pinked out in Giambattista Valli looking like a Roman goddess. Interesting look. Cruz was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the 2009 film Nine, for 2008’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona and 2006’s Volver.
Well we guess we were wrong about Jessica Biel being on the bump watch list. Clearly, her tiny waste in a strapless Chanel Couture 2014 gown shot down that rumor.
But Jennifer Garner is still mom to three and looked amazing in an Oscar de la Renta dress with matching purse and silver Brian Atwood platform peek-a-boo pumps. Garner starred in Dallas Buyer’s Club.

Before announcing the Best Film winner on stage last night, Will Smith wowed in Berluti and his wife, one of our Mom Style icons Jada Pinkett Smith looked stunning in Atelier Versace. Fabu!
Giuliana Rancic  looked breathless in Paolo Sebastian Couture. The reality TV star and hostess has been on point for a steady while now since she quit with the quirky selections or earlier years.
Finally, Pink looked amaze in her shimmery Elie Saab red floor-length gown with the plunging neckline and belted waist.  She performed a dedication to the 75th anniversary of the movie The Wizard of Oz.
