Celebrities who were cheated on while pregnant

Sadly, the rumor mill is reporting that Hank Baskett Jr may have cheated on our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kendra Wilkinson while she was carrying the couple’s second child.  They initially denied the reports until the woman (who happens to also be transgendered) who claims to have had a torrid ongoing affair with Baskett kept giving interviews that revealed some intimate details and Wilkinson allegedly discovered credit card charges for meals with two persons that her hubby could not explain, according to web reports.

This week, Perez Hilton‘s parenting site Perezitos featured a gallery of 11 celebrity  women whose partners or spouses allegedly cheated on them while pregnant. We saw some of the women from on our 2010 post about 6 celebs who broke up before their baby was born on the list and noted it missed Brit personality Katie Price, who we blogged about last week.

Price told a British talk show that she felt her husband Kieran Hayler cheated on her because she gained too much weight while pregnant.

Yikes!

Anyway, we’d add to Perez’s gallery which includes Lauryn Hill (Rohan Marley), Nivea and Lauren London (both by  Lil Wayne), Christina Milian (The Dream), Kelis (Nas), Shar Jackson  (by Kevin Federline) ,Heidi Klum (by Flavio Briatore), Bridget Moynahan (Tom Brady), Mary Louise Parker  (Billy Crudup) and Wendy Williams (Kevin Hunter).

Add from our post: Alexis Knapp who may have been cheated on by Ryan Phillipe while she was pregnant with their child; Ginny Barber who was pregnant with Tiki Barber‘s twins when the two broke up, allegedly because he was cheating on her; and January Jones who may have been cheated on by her son Xander’s dad – whoever that is, possibly Jason Sudekis or Ashton Kutcher.

Generally, most men stick by their women’s side while she is carrying their child but not all area able to stay faithful during a time when his woman may not be in the mood to have sex,  may experience a change in her body she may not like and embrace; and may just be bitchy to her dude. The strongest can sustain their love and relationship through it all.

8 Summer Safety Tips for Outdoor FUN!

Summer is a great time to get out and have fun, but be mindful of the following safety tips:
  1.     Make sure your CPR and first Aid certifications are up-to-date. Accidents happen regardless of how many safety precautions you take. Being prepared to handle whatever may come up helps you stay calm during an emergency, take the correct action quickly, and keep injuries to a minimum. If your certifications have lapsed, contact your local Red Cross or American Heart Association to schedule a renewal class. Proper training can literally save a life.
  2.     One of the best ways to spend a summer afternoon is playing at the pool, lake, or ocean. But water can be deceptively dangerous. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every year about 800 children drown. Drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death among children ages 1 to 3, and the second-leading cause among kids under 15. Keeping a watchful eye on all children and staying within an arm’s reach of younger children is essential to keeping them safe at the pool, lake, or ocean. Don’t assume children who are strong swimmers are automatically safe around water. Every child can fall victim to a cramp, tiring, or an unseen undertow.
  3.     Staying hydrated is one of the most important safety precautions you can take during summertime. Instead of stocking up on juice and sports drinks, invest in a quality water filter and plenty of refillable water bottles. The American Academy of Paediatrics recommends that “water, not sports drinks, should be the principal source of hydration for children and adolescents.” What about kids involved in summer sports? The AAP says, “Sports drinks can be helpful for young athletes engaged in prolonged, vigorous physical activities, but in most cases they are unnecessary on the sports field.” Making sure kids drink plenty of water throughout the day will keep them hydrated and ready to take on summertime fun.
  4.     Putting sunscreen on kids 6 months and older every time they go outside is a must. Applying sunscreen 30 minutes before children are in the sun ensures they have full protection. Teaching kids to spell BEENS will help you remember to cover often forgotten spots: Back of knees, Ears, Eye area, Neck, and Scalp. Reapplying sunscreen every two hours, more often if the kids are swimming or playing in the water, will help keep kids safe throughout the day.
  5.     Insects are an unavoidable part of summer and painful or itchy bites can quickly dampen any outdoor activity. Using a safe and effective bug repellant makes time spent outside a lot more enjoyable. The American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control recommend parents and caregivers use an insect repellant that contains 10% to 30% DEET on children 2 months and older. Combination sunscreen / insect repellent products shouldn’t be used because sunscreen needs to be reapplied every two hours, but insect repellent doesn’t.
  6.     Ticks are another troublesome part of summer. They can infect both children and adults with bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause serious illness including Lyme disease. Even when using an insect repellant with DEET children can pick up ticks, especially when playing in areas where ticks thrive like the woods and grassy lawn areas. Doing a full body check for ticks each day is the best way to ensure your charges stay tick-free. Adding a daily tick patrol to the evening bath routine makes a routine check easy and fun to do. If you do find a tick, grasp it with tweezers, as close to the skin as possible, and pull it straight out.
  7.     Summer is the perfect opportunity for you and older children to enjoy a bike ride on local trails or through a favorite park. Making sure kids are wearing a quality correctly-fitting helmet is necessary to prevent injury in the case of an accident. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says, “A properly fitted bicycle helmet reduces the risk of head injury by as much as 85 percent and the risk of brain injury by as much as 88 percent.” Helping kids personalize their helmets to reflect their own interests and hobbies is an easy way to get them excited about adding it to their safety routine.
  8.     Bikes aren’t the only thing that requires a helmet. Blades, scooters, and skateboards all pose their own risks. Knee and elbow pads are a smart idea for children of all skill levels. Pads should have a hard plastic shield, not interfere with movement, and fit snugly without cutting off circulation. For beginners, outfitting kids with additional gear such as wrist guards, gloves, and mouth guards will offer added protection and peace of mind.

Internet Trolls viciously attack Kim Kardashian for piercing Baby North’s ears

It is official!! The entire world of critics and commenters have officially signed on to be the co-parents to Blue Ivy Carter and North West, the girl child spawns of Beyonce Knowles and Shawn “JayZ” Carter; and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, respectively.

Must be, cause it seems everyone has an opinion on every parenting decision those couples make about their kid, whether it is whether to leave them barefoot, comb their hair, take them on a vacation, let them walk versus carry them or travel with them. It appears that every paparazzi pic that comes across their social media feeds warrant some sort of visceral reaction from the global peanut gallery bemoaning their opinion of how these parents ought to be caring for their child! Sheesh!

Today’s drama du jour has to do with pics of North West, who is celebrating her first birthday with her parents in Mexico, revealing that the little one-year old go her ears pierced. She also was gifted a $30,000 doll house and a pair of diamond earrings to commemorate the milestone.

“Celebrities” I’ve never even heard of are even coming out the woodwork to throw a jab.

Here is a small selection of overreactions (it’s not that deep, really) other outlets have assembled:

MetroSun UK
NY Post
And one troll, a British “comedienne” had the nerve to call her Ugly. ugh!

Here is to hoping this woman never has a child of her own for people to ridicule and call vile names.

What is it that P.T. Barnum said:

First of all, it’s a cultural thing in many countries that are not America or in Europe to pierce a child’s ears when they are babies, and before they can consent or even talk. I pierced my daughter’s ears when she was 3 months old. My baby. My decision.

What’s the deal with other people not only imposing their own personal preference but also culture on others. Not cool. Mind your business and tend to your own kid is my opinion.

It might be cruel and painful in your eyes, but so is circumcising a baby in many people’s opinions, yet many of those outraged wouldn’t dare tell a Jewish parent he or she shouldn’t abide by their centuries old custom.

.

While it does take a village to raise a child, sometimes the village needs to let a parent do her or his thing and worry about what’s going on in their own huts.

101 Fun Things to Do with the Kids this Summer

Summer may be a time to relax, but tell that to kids who are bouncing off the walls or shrieking “I’m bored” every five minutes. How on earth are parents and nannies supposed to keep kids entertained, active and out of trouble for an entire summer?

The trick is to plan ahead. Brainstorm ideas for things to do now, so you don’t wind up spending the entire summer watching cartoons.

Jill Tipograph, summer expert and founder of Everything Summer, suggests that you: “Take advantage of those bright sunny days and warm summer nights and plan something new a couple of times a week. Outdoor adventures don’t have to be extreme — explore a new neighborhood or walk as a family to get a healthy after-dinner snack.”

Jesse Koller, mom and publisher of the parenting blog Play, Create and Explore, likes to keep kids entertained with crafts. Sheeven holds regular art workshops for local kids. “We have a blast focusing on mostly process art and projects, as well as some sensory activities.”

Bellyitch to sponsor Miss Ghana USA Pageant contestant

This Sunday was the Miss USA pageant won by Miss Nevada, Nia Sanchez, a notable choice because she was the first contestant ever to be crowned from that state. She is also the second “woman of color” to win a major pageant representing the US in a year. Earlier this year, the Miss America pageant crowned Nina Duvuluri, an Indo-Asian American as its 2014 queen. It all reflects the changing diversity and demographic of the US population.
And now Bellyitch is getting into the pageant biz a bit too! We are helping to sponsor and support 30-year old DC-area pre-cancer survivor Diane Tackie vie for the Miss Ghana USA pageant set to take place this July 12th in New York City.
Tackie is a graduate of the prestigious Eleanor Roosevelt Science and Technology program and a physician assistant who treats active duty US military corpsmen at the Pentagon where she works.
The editorial staff chose her not just because she is a close family friend of the blog founder, but also because we were moved by her very touching pitch and the cause she will champion if she wins could help save the lives of young girls and women.
Read it for yourself:

I would like to take this time and opportunity to express my sincere gratitude, as I am a finalist for Miss Ghana USA 2014.

About a month or so ago, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and interview to be a part of this pageant, my very first actually. Being a Ghanaian American I found it appropriate to partake in this pageant and utilize the strengths that I have been blessed. Being a Board Certified Physician Assistant for the past four years, I felt this would be a great opportunity to implement a plan of care for the platform I have chose in women’s health, specifically Breast Cancer Awareness in Ghana.

Having breast surgery for fibroadenoma at 21, I can attest to the fact that a monthly self breast examination should be an essential part of every young woman’s way of life, as the diagnosis of breast cancer is occurring at a much younger age in women.

More recently, “Triple Negative Breast Cancer” has  become prevalent in Ghana, a form of breast cancer that is very difficult to treat. I need everyone to please help to move forward with this pageant and implement my Breast Cancer Awareness platform. A portion of proceeds will be given to the Sweden Ghana Medical Center, to purchase breast models to help in the breast cancer awareness program. This program uses these breast models to teach the average young lady on the street to find the lump in the breast.

Among other things the Sweden Ghana Medical  Center  provides treatment for  many breast cancer patients using radiation and chemotherapy.

Brilliant!
Currently, the Accra, Ghana-born pageant contestant, who says she was a shy child, has come out of her shell. She models  part time with Modelogic Wilhelmina, hosts events and is known as a DC area socialite.
She also takes time to do service projects with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorporated. and the Katie Able Foundation. Recently, the gorgeous and statuesque model was honored in the WKYSDC Top 30 Under 30 list, for young professionals in Washington, DC area in February 2014.
If you want to join us in support, check out her Go FUND ME page and help bring this survivor’s dream one step closer to reality!

Thanks! We’re excited and can’t wait until the contest this summer!
