Avengers production director confirms Scarlett Johansson’s pregnancy, says they’ll work around her bump

So it seems like the President of Production for  Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has unknowingly let the pregnancy cat of the bag on Scarlett Johansson‘s pregnancy.
Although rumors an reports have circulated for close to a month or longer now that the A-Lister is preggers with her first child for fiance Roman Dauriac, neither have officially confirmed the baby news.
However, during an interview about  filming of Avengers:Winter Soldier Adventures: Age of Ultron, the Daily Mirror reports, Feige said that his first reaction of learning of the pregnancy was that he “was very happy for her and very excited for her,” his second reaction was, “we’ve got to move some pieces on the chess board around schedule-wise.”
That has meant that the Lost In Translation actress will need to wear a special high-tech suit with a green band around her waist to edit out her growing baby bump. Much of the movie magic will be done in post-production.
And director Joss Whedon said he still expected her to do her fight scenes.
Whoa! Recall, last month we reported that during the filming of Divergent  actress Kate Winslet did her own stunts right into her third trimester. It’s a different ball game.
But considering all the negative press Indian movie producers and American ones who cut actresses like Hilary Duff from projects after they became pregnant, it’s a toss up.

US Weekly accused of photoshopping Prince George

Gossip magazine US Weekly is under fire for “allegedly” altering a photo of Prince George.
As Page Six noted, George, son to Kate Middleton and Prince William, appeared paler and less rosy than depicted on the cover of the mag this week. His eyes also appeared slightly greener as well in the mag.
The editors denied it.

“The original image used for the Prince George cover was dark and bluish in tone and needed to be given an overall color shift for printing purposes,” a spokesperson for US Weekly stated. “By no means did we go in and alter the color of his eyes or cheeks in this process.”

What do you think?

It wouldn’t be the first time a magazine has edited a baby’s complexion and look, if true.
British mag OK! looked to have done the opposite. A photo of Kourtney Kardashian and her son Mason appeared as if Mason had been lightened.
KourtneyK addressed the cover photo, but to object to the way the mag photoshopped her to be thinner. Editors also photoshopped color of her top.
In reply, Kardashian tweeted, “One of those weeklies got it wrong again…they didn’t have an exclusive with me. And I gained 40 pounds while pregs, not 26…But thanks.”
It’s the type of distortion that causes women to think they should be a certain weight immediately after having a baby.

Easter Maternity Fashion: Get inspiration from these celeb moms

If you are currently preggers and planning what to wear to church this Easter, here are some Throwback Thursday pics of celebrities who looked fashionable and delightful in dresses that would be suitable for Easter Brunch, an Easter Egg Roll or an Easter Brunch.

Go casual in a flowy maxi dress under a denim jacket like Kristin Cavallari did during her first pregnancy with son Camden jack two years ago or a billowy-sleeved Bohemian top under cropped pants like what  Korean actress Kim Hee-sun wore during a GAP maternity campaign in 2009. Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie also dressed up and down the maxi dress and you can too.

If you’re looking to look more formal, go with bold and pastel colors or cream mid-length dresses like how Kate Hudson, Christina Applegate,  Jolie, Gwen Stefani and Reese Witherspoon during their respective last pregnancy.
Happy Easter!

Music Festival Season: Fashion & Safety Tips for the Pregnant but Still Rocking

If you haven’t let a little thing like the fact that you’re a little pregnant get in the way of your plans to head to a music festival this Spring and you’re trying to figure out how to fit in with all the crop tops, daisy dukes and cutoffs and still look hip, we’ve got an idea. Consider investing in a loose-fitting screen-T with a cool phrase written on the front to distract from your bun in the oven? Local Celebrity, Zoe Karssen, Rebel Yell, Blue and Cream, Chaser LA and other brands make pretty awesome shirts that you can get in a size up.

Pair the T’s with a boho skirt or cropped denims, some round aviators, a fringe bag and combat boots and you’re good to go.
If this is your first kid, this may be your last frolick to a music festival carefee in a long time, so you might as well go out with a bang. Have fun, but be safe and stay clear from the front of the stage where it can get rough and tumble. Hydrate and avoid standing in the mist and rain for too long. Carry protein snacks like trail mix and granola bars in your side satchel so you can munch on when the food line is too long. Don’t starve baby and by all means make sure your blood sugar doesn’t dip too low. Carry hand sanitizer and use it often as it can get a bit unsanitary as you know out in a dusty field.
Also, go early so you can get a spot close to the johns and parking, if possible. By now, you know you make a lot more trips to the john than before.
Have fun and be safe!

Prince George and parents arrive in Australia (PHOTOS)

Pardon my obsession with Prince George of Cambridge but I just can’t resist his adorable chunky cheeks. He is such a cutie patootie and his little personalized sweaters are so adorable.

His mom Duchess Catherine and Prince William carted him on their trip to Australia that started this week.

The former Kate Middleton is going to learn how after baby is born it is less about you and all about the kid.

Many New parents worldwide can relate.

She did look polished and almost perfect again, this time in red and wearing a favorite designer of the Royals: Catherine Walker.

Loving the photos the official Royal publicist tweeted out of their arrival today.
A couple decades ago, Will’s mom carried him to Australia when he was a baby and back then it was a bigger deal to make an overseas trip with an infant under 12 months old.

Evian does it again with its “Baby and Me” viral ad (VIDEO)

Back in 2009, Spring water bottler Evian captured hearts and YouTube views with its creative commercial featuring babies in diapers dancing in roller skates at a skater park to a hip hop classic, “Rapper’s Delight.

The babies are back! This time as miniature versions of adults in the reflection of adults walking by a store window. The video for the ad, released last year, has also gone viral and has about 78 million and counting views on YouTube already. Wow!
Enjoy it here:

Happy Saturday!!

8 Parent-Created Eco-Friendly Products for Kids to Check out

We learn about a lot of new products each month that are helping to change and make life easier for parents. Many of them are invented and created by parents, usually out of necessity when they don’t see practical alternatives around to meet their needs.
We did our research and hand-picked out our favorite in a bunch of products, all of them eco-friendly, that you should know about…
The Posh Play’s Diaper Clutch combo is an eco-friendly, portable diaper clutch and changing combo that is stylish and great for when you are out and about. It comes in an eggplant-colored matching leatherette (PVC Free faux leater) zippered pouch that also has room for an ATM card, cash, keys & a diaper. This mom-created product is perfect for short trips out of the house with baby when you don’t want to schlep out the entire baby bag. Our reader reviewer tested this product out and said she’s used it ever since and it has been a God-send. It retails for $58.00. Get it from the Posh Play website or our parters at Amazon.com.
Or if you are watching your budget and want a less expensive option, you can opt for the Baby Bella Maya Go-Go pouch which is washable, reusable and made of BPA-Free fabric for $6.95 but it has less space and may not fit as much as the Posh Play combo, and of course has a different aesthetic and look as the Posh Play which looks and feels more durable and substantial. The company that makes it was started by Airline pilot and mom of four Marta Sala-Rothwell.
Taking a baby’s temperature can be challenging especially if your infant is ill, cranky and crying. It could be tough to get the right measurement under these conditions, leading to anxious and frustrated parents as well. However, one thing we do know is that most babies are soothed with a pacifier and that is why the Carex Digital Pacifer thermometer could be a lifesaver. Baby sucks on it and gives an accurate digital reading of his temperature. The product, inspired by the needs of parents, retails for $12.99, which is a great price considering the high costs of digital thermometers just a few years ago.
But if baby is well and you’re into using him or her as a conversation starter, you might want in invest in the Mustachifier (by FCTRY) which is a hilarious pacifier with a mustache attached. It would certainly be a conversation starter when walking the baby in the malls or park and when out and about. They’d make the perfect novelty gift for new parents as well. Would be a hoot at the baby shower. It retails for $9.99
If you have a kid who loves animals like I do, she or he will go Ga Ga over David FitzSimmons‘ latest book, “Curious Critters Volume Two”. Inside, the dad to two daughters and professional nature photographer incorporates large, vivid and very-detailed photographs of various animals  with prose about their habitat, the sounds they make and other fun tidbits of information. My animal-loving middle kid thoroughly enjoyed the book, the index of history of the animals featured, the life-sized silhouette of each animal and the animal glossary. He carries it with him to long car trips and to the library after school. It’s an instructional book that is also fun to read, as a bed time story and solo by a kid who enjoys reading about earth’s creatures. Get this hardcover book for $14.96 today on Amazon.com!
If you are a person of faith and are looking for interesting and easy to watch and digest cartoon videos to explain stories from the bible, you will want to check out the Iesodo (pronounced yay-sa-doe) collection of DVDs that teach children about Faith, Love, Believe and other virtues of the Bible and Jesus Christ’s teachings through a series that features a community of birds that mimics real life places and stories from the Good Book. One character, Iesodo, himself is an illustration of Jesus. My kids, who attend Catholic schools, could easily identify and link some of the stories and have been enjoying watching the DVDs on repeat. They too are instructional while entertaining. It’s a top quality production too as those involved in producing the series include Eric S. Rollman who was the President of Production for MarvelColin Brady whose credits include Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and A Bug’s Life and Brian E. Ray whose credits consist of Muppet Babies. The latest DVD Love is $14.99 but you can get the Faith DVD, at least, for just $7.50 at our Amazon.com partner site.

Finally, if you have a tough time getting your little ones to consume enough fruits and vegetables so they are having a balanced nutrition and getting sufficient vitamins and minerals, you may want to consider Vemma NEXT brand’s liquid supplement.  There are over 65 plant-sourced minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants in each serving, including:

Prince George & Parents family portrait released

Saturday, the Royal Family released a photo of an 8-month old Prince George with his parents Prince William and Duchess Catherine (née Kate Middleton) taken by the photographer Jason Bell.

In the pic, Georgie, dressed in a personalized sweater from Johnstons of Elgin, Scotland, is distracted by the family dog, a black spaniel named Lupo.
The family is framed in a window in
an apartment in Kensington Palace, where Will’s mom Princess Diana once lived.
The trio are getting ready to travel to Australia soon. Yup, George is set to start getting his little passport stamped up from early.
Good for them. Super Cute photo. He is such a handsome baby boy.

How to prevent varicose veins during pregnancy

Guest Post
Whether it’s your first or your third, pregnancy is an

exciting time for you and your family. There are a lot of changes going on in

your body to prepare it for the delivery of new life. As part of this, your

body has an increased amount of blood flow, which is why you have a higher

chance of developing varicose veins during pregnancy.
However, there are a few things that you can do to prevent

varicose veins during pregnancy:
1. Create healthy

habits.
Healthy habits help to prevent varicose veins, and promote

good health all around for you and your baby. Make sure you are eating a

balanced diet with substantial vitamin C, as it helps promote good blood flow.
In addition, exercise each day. Cycling, swimming and

walking are low-impact exercises that help move blood through your veins.
2. Invest in

compression socks.
Compression socks provide constriction to your legs, where

varicose veins are most likely to develop. This tight fit can help to promote

blood flow to prevent blood from pooling in your veins, which causes varicose

veins to form.
3. Dress smart.
While compression socks are recommended, other tight-fitting

clothing is not. Instead, make sure you are wearing loose-fitting apparel.

Wearing high heels while you are pregnant is also not recommended, as it can

result in circulation issues. Avoiding both of these types of clothing will

make you and baby more comfortable during your nine months.
4. Pay attention to

your legs.
Whether you stand or sit for a long period of time, it can

have the same effect on your legs. A stagnant position can lead to blood

pooling in your veins. Make sure you are moving around throughout the day and

spending time elevating your legs as well. Propping your legs on a chair or

stool can help to promote good circulation. Add ankle flexes for extra blood

flow benefits.
5. Avoid heavy

lifting.
Lifting heavy objects while you are pregnant can be

challenging, resulting in straining. This straining can increase vein

visibility and your chance of forming varicose veins.
After pregnancy, the appearance of varicose veins may

diminish. However, you may want to consider consulting a medical professional

for treatment. There are several treatment options available and a doctor can

help you determine what works best for you. If varicose veins are left

untreated, they can lead to health complications that can be life threatening.
