TV Host & Idol Alum Kimberly Caldwell is expecting her first child

Aww man! I was a loyal American Idol fan, especially in the early years and I was a fan of the two Kimberlies, two top ten finalists both named Kimberly (Caldwell and Locke), in Season Two of the popular television singing talent show.
As our social media specialist Chelsea Social reported on our Facebook page this week, one of those Kimberlies, Kimberly Caldwell, is expecting her first child with her professional soccer player husband Jordan C. Harvey.
The newlyweds since December already have a name for their impending arrival, a girl, Harlowe Monroe.  *gush*
How Beautiful! That’s going to be a gorgeous baby!
Since Idol, Caldwell released an album and works regularly as an actress and television host on network and cable channel programs, most recently, the TV Guide Network. She also designs handbags and headbands and has a beauty makeover business.

Caldwell, who resides in Vancouver, Canada with her hubby who plays for the Vancouver White Caps  shared a gorgeous bump photo when she was 16 weeks along on her Instagram page.

As avid soccer lovers and shower singers here at the Bellyitch offices, we look forward to hearing more about Harlow once she arrives.

REPORT: Russian Pres Vladimir Putin welcomed a secret baby girl

The KGB has nothing on snooping gossip bloggers!

If you are one of those people like me who follow world politics, you may remember that this past March, Russian president Vladimir Putin disappeared. The Kremlin tried to pass off some bogus excuse for the absence of the world leader.

It turns out Vlad most likely in Switzerland visiting his newborn daughter to his much younger former gymnast girlfriend Alina Kabaeva.

The two have long denied being in a relationship, but Swiss press claim they are new parents.

Kabaeva gave birth in April at the Clinica Sant’Anna in Sorengo, Switzerland, a suburb of Lugano, Swiss newspaper Corriere Del Ticino stated.

The local branch of Swiss broadcaster RSI reported that 31-year old Kabaeva, 31, had booked two rooms at the ultra-private clinic to the rich and famous.

There were reports of an unusual amount of black Sedans with Russian diplomatic license plates in the town where the clinic is located around the same time that the 61-year old Putin disappeared.

And if that wasn’t evidence enough, Kabaeva emerged after weeks of absence at a gymnastic contest in Moscow to celebrate the end of World War II in a red tent dress and looking heavier, older and fatigued, New York Post  reports.

You can run but you cannot hide from the ever snooping press! ha!

Congrats Vlad and Alina!

Bump Watch: Country singer Jessie James Decker keeps It Real

Okay! Here we go! My new fave pregnant celeb may be country singer Jessie James Decker.
The reality TV star of the E! show Eric & Jessie: Game on and her husband New York Jets linebacker Eric Decker are expecting their second child, a son, in September.
This week, Jessie kept it all the way real with this very relatable Instagram 5-month belly progression photo that she captioned:
“Keepin it real mommy style. Stains. Gotta pee face but don’t wanna get up and non supportive bra Cus I just don’t care hahah! #vivismama #23wks”
That’s what I’m talking about. We see enough of the picture perfect, carefully filtered and presented inspirational pregnant celeb photos that most cannot obtain or duplicate, even if they tried.
Finally, one who isn’t afraid to show what many real pregnant women look like when they’re chilling at home and letting it hang out.
Love!
The Deckers are also parents to their 1-year old daughter Vivian, born last March 18.

Brenda Song clears up ancient pregnancy rumors, her ex Trace Cyrus claps back

Post break up with long time beau Trace Cyrus, actress Brenda Song is clearing up a pregnancy rumor that even Bellyitch reported.

In an Instagram message (that has since been deleted), Song responds to the years-old rumors:
“I usually never speak of my personal life, but I’d like to clear up some rumors. A few years ago there were rumors that I was pregnant and/or had a miscarriage. I just want to say that those rumors were not true. They were just lies and fabrications. I apologize for not clearing this up sooner and for the continual damafe (sic) that these lies have caused @TraceCyrus.”
She continued, “We may no longer be together but I hope he can forgive me and I wish him nothing but the best.”
Not good enough for the rocker brother of Miley Cyrus who broke up with Song in the summer of 2012. He clapped back to her post:
“Yes they were lies THAT U MADE UP and told me, my entire family and all our friends.”
Um….
Well..we in the blogsphere had reason from Song to believe she was pregnant too.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, the Disney Channel child star tweeted to her fans after getting engaged to Cyrus, ” I won’t be tweeting so much these next couple of days! My stomach is full of excitement! Big plans..big plans. You’ll soon see ya’ll! xo BS.”

The celeb girls given boy names trend continues…

Jett Ling Song, Lisa Ling’s daughter with a gender-bender name.
Several of the celebrity women to give birth lately continued the recent trend of giving traditional male names to their daughters.
Brand new moms: Haylie Duff named her daughter Ryan; CaCee Cobb named her daughter Wilder and Sara Gilbert named her  new son Rhodes but has a daughter Sawyer.
Perhaps Cobb was following in the footsteps of her BFF Jessica Simpson who named her daughter Maxwell.
TV Journalists we’ve covered too: Savannah Guthrie named daughter Vale and Lisa Ling named her daughter Jett (above in photo collage).
Other celeb women with female sounding names choosing the give their daughters male names:
Mila Kunis named her daughter Wyatt
Rebecca Gayheart named her daughter Billie
Heidi Klum named her daughter Lou
Soleil Moon Frye has a daughter named Jagger Joseph
And to be honest, it really isn’t a “new” thing either. People have been doing the gender bender naming thing for the longest, just not as much. For example, these celebs with older kids:
Diane Keaton’s daughter is named Dexter
Teri Hathcher’s daughter is called Emerson
Michelle Branch‘s daughter is Owen
Melissa Etheridge’s daughter is named Johnnie
Rebecca Romijn‘s dauhter is Charlie
Angie Harmon is a rebel all three of her daughters have male names; Avery, Finley and Emery
On the flip side, there are a few who’ve had boys and given them names uniquely associated with girls, mostly, in the US anyway: Alicia Keys’ son is Genesis and Shakira named her second son Sasha.
It’s all creative and represent this new era where gender is often debated and people are trying to break traditional stereotypes and notions tied to gender.

Milla Jovovich: Mothering in developing nations inspire me

Model, Resident Evil  actress and mom to two, Milla Jovovich captured my heart when she said in a recent interview that she is inspired by mothers in the developing world and strives to mimic their simple, traditional and instinctive mothering styles.
Much of the things families in agrarian and other “Third World” do is guided by convenience and resourcefulness.
Jovovic explains how they motivate her:

I’ve always been inspired by mothers in Third World countries. I feel that the connection with children and mothers is so strong in places where there are not so many “things” to get in the way. No electronic distraction devices, no high tech baby equipment, just a mother carrying her little one everywhere, sharing a family bed and having the help of all the other women around to raise the baby.

I always thought that the Western way of raising kids was so disconnected. Everyone has their cubicle at home, babies go into nurseries, little kids have their own rooms. You are so separated from one another! We have been co-sleeping for years with our daughter and I feel that it’s helped us so much to stay connected as a family.

Especially as my husband and I can have such tough work schedules making films, where we’re on set for at least 12 and sometimes 14 hours a day! Because we share sleep at night, our daughter naturally feels very connected to us and that in turn makes her want to please us! She trusts us and listens to what we say. There is an innate sense of respect between us all that I feel can be lacking with some of the other parents and children I see in our society. I feel that some problems that parents say are “typical” i.e. arguing, defiance, tantrums, interrupting, disrespect, disobedience, screaming etc. we just haven’t had to deal with in any serious way!

Of course I’m very hands on with following through on consequences when my daughter is misbehaving, but I think that because she feels totally accepted and included in our world, she does’t want to let us down and I know that even though we disagree on things sometimes, like rules, it has made discipline so much easier for us. ESPECIALLY when I feel like I’ve made a mistake as a parent, making up for it is so much simpler when you share all that extra cuddle time in the evening and mornings together!

Love it!

Celeb Inspiration: How to Wear Summer Whites

This upcoming Memorial Day triggers the opening of pools and also traditionally, fashion-wise, it’s when more people feel comfortable wearing whites. Pregnant women may try to avoid white for that perception that it makes one look larger than they already are but when played up right, they can look fab rocking Summer Whites too.

Here are a few ways to do it:

Get a white a white shirt or a “baby doll” dress and pair with a pair of Keds or gladiator sandals and shades for a cool look.

Go free flowing and free with a white maxi dress. Belt it above the breastbone or throw on a denim cropped jacket for a fun casual look.

And of course, you can go big and bold with ACCESSORIES!
