Celeb moms rock 2014 BET Honors RedCarpet and Stage (PHOTOS)

Some of our past Bellyitch Bumpwatch moms rocked the red carpet and stage to the 2014 BET Honors this past weekend during its Saturday, February 8th taping at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC.
Comedian Wayne Brady hosted the 3-hour star studded event which honored Aretha Franklin, Ice Cube, Berry Gordy, Nelson Mandela, Chairman and CEO of American Express Kenneth Chenault and photographer and visual artist Carrie Mae Weems.
Jennifer Hudson showed major leg in a super short white mini dress with a cut out for a structured black bra to peek thru! Hot!
Tamar Braxton-Herbert brought Hollywood Glam to DC in a Gold figure hugging evening dress on the red carpet. During the performances later, she paid tribute to Gordy, singing songs of one of his most famous proteges: Diana Ross. The VH1 reality TV star of The Braxtons and Tamar and Vince channeled the iconic diva in another curve hugging wine-colored dress with a plunging neckline that also showed off her super trim post-baby body. The TV co-host of Fox‘s The Real sang some of Ross’s biggest tunes, including the chart topping and memorable “Upside Down.”
Mariah Carey headlined and opened the show with a song from her upcoming album in a sexy dress revealing mucho boobage.  MiMi didn’t walk the red carpet but she was spotted carrying daughter Monroe into the theater (see photo in collage below).
Wow, Mariah! After showing all that leg on the red carpet, Hudson went demure in a whit pant suit while signing her tribute to honoree Aretha Franklin. She and singer-songwriter phenom Janelle Monae  who did a tribute to Gordy met up with the legend back stage.
The show airs on Monday, February 24th at 9pm ET on BET.

Androgynous Maternity as rocked by Ciara, Beyonce & Kim Kardashian

When Ciara showed up to the 2014 MusicCares Gala in a navy Lanvin mens style pinstripe suit, many scrubbed their chins, cocked their heads and went, “hmmmm.”   Not all were convinced at how fashion forward the look was for maternity wear.

Little did they know she was only channeling the spirit of her fore-mothers who rocked Androgynous maternity before her.

Behold:

Ciara has been wearing androgynous looks this pregnancy like Beyonce & Kim Kardashian did before her.

Meanwhile, the first openly gay woman athlete to sign a Nike modeling contract, WNBA player Brittney Griner was signed to model men’s apparel.
And as an ESPN.com story about the deal noted:

Androgynous models are coveted in high-end fashion, but the trend toward gender-neutral clothing has only just begun to reach the sports world, with NBA stars Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade blurring the lines in their tight jeans and fitted sweaters. No sports apparel company has taken it a step further and expressly targeted the gender-fluid crowd — and whether Nike is willing to ride the edge with Griner remains to be seen. “We can’t get into specifics,” says Nike spokesman Brian Strong, “but it’s safe to say we jumped at the opportunity to work with her because she breaks the mold.

The former Baylor women’s player and current Phoenix Mercury star won the ESPY award for best female athlete in 2011 and rocked the red carpet in men’s wear the following two years.

The era of androgyny has been a thing for a while now, but is mos def an “in” thing again.

Evelyn Lozada says no to maternity clothes, considers designing sexy maternity line

Basketball Wives’ Eveyln Lozada recently told Que Mas online magazine that she doesn’t wear maternity wear because maternity clothes make her feel “old and frumpy.”

The newly-engaged clothing store owner and author said. “I love tops that hug my tummy and show off my bump”

She added that she is thinking of designing a line of sexy maternity clothes. Why not? Throw your hat in the ring too.

“Pregnant women need to feel beautiful, wear gorgeous prints and nice solids,” the Afro-Latina mama-to-be shared. “Don’t conceal your bump! Wear it with pride.””

Good advice, mama!

….um  but on that old and frumpy maternity thing, we think she needs to take a better look at some of the creative maternity lines out there like Isabella Oliver for example.

These don’t look old and frumpy to us!

And some other brands too have done sexy maternity pretty well:

Pace Wu is a stunning contender for Best Maternity Style

Starcast
Oooh! File this under missed but we think Taiwanese model and actress Pace Wu was an overlooked contender for best maternity style of 2013 when she rocked the heck out of this lemon Valentino Resort 2014 dress at the launch of her “Pace Wu’s Style Book: Fashion Alive” last Christmas.
And she dared to do it in quite dangerous yet fashionable sky high Tiffany‘s blue Christian Louboutin pumps.
Wu and her wealthy businessman beau Ji Xiaobo welcomed their baby this month and plan to marry later.
Sizzzling. Cute.

Bump Watch: Emily Blunt’s comfy maternity style

Maybe it’s because she always has a camera following everywhere she goes, but the papps have done a great job of capturing British actress Emily Blunt’s casual style. The Devil Wears Prada star must love comfy long sleeve maternity jersey tops and dark denim or stretch pants because that is all she is seen wearing when out and about. Not mad at her. Keep it comfy and functional, mama!

2014 Grammy Red Carpet, On Stage & Behind-the-Scenes (PHOTOS)

Last night, the biggest names in music hit the red carpet to the Staples Center in Los Angeles,California on January 26 for the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards and celebration. We took to Grammy’s mobile app to live Instagram and share some of the Red Carpet, On Stage and Behind-the-Scenes imagery and photos of the night, starring many of the moms current and past that we’ve “bumpwatched.” We start with Alicia Keys who looked stunning in an electric blue plunging Armani Prive dress with hubby Swizz Beatz.
Beyonce won the night in this lace curve-hugging Michael Costello fish tail dress with  Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Christian Louboutin heels.

Another relatively new mom, Amber Rose, looked amaze in a gorge gold Naeem Khan floor length curve-hugging dress.

Another one of our pretty new  moms Anna Faris looked amazing in this midnight blue Fitranni dress with a slight train.

Ciara rocked her bump in a shimmery bronze floor-length Emilio Pucci gown.

Giuliana Rancic made the BEST dressed list with this crimson lace overlay Alex Perry resort 2014 dress and Marina B jewls. Gorg!

Tamar Braxton-Herbert just had her son last year and looks smoking hot in a fire-engine red Michael Costello dress while posing with hubby Vince Herbert.

P!nk accompanied hubby Carey Hart while showing off her toned bod in a red Johanna Johnson dress.

Sweet. Erica Campbell of the group Mary Mary had her daughter for her date last night while wearing a two piece lace top and skirt. It was a modest and approporiate look considering all the hoopla over her solo album cover.

Madonna and son David did the 20s zoot suit styling by Ralph Lauren

Fantasia Barino
went with a neutral-toned slip dress with a red halter strap under a black lace see-through dress with crimson lip and a cute bowl pixie cut. Confusing look.

Also rocking her new pixie cut was Jennifer Hudson, who didn’t go to the Grammys but was spotted on the red carpet to Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party that occurs the night before the Grammys at the famed Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills. Jennifer Hudson wore a  colorful Christopher Kane dress.

At that same event was actress Paula Patton in a crimson Mireille Dagher Couture fall 2014 lace mini dress with a plunging neckline, worn with Louboutin pumps and David Yurman jewels.

Pink’s aerial performance has become an anticipated breath of fresh air for award shows. She’s done it a few times before and stuns audiences each time.

Look at that strength and balance. Amazing.

The night opened with a saucy solo and duet by Beyonce and Jay Z performing Bey’s song Drunk In Love off her latest self-titled 5th solo studio album. The outfit was by Nichole de Carle which was accented with Saint Laurent tights,  Stuart Weitzman Mary Jane dance shoes, a La Perla Collar, and custom bra, and Jennifer Fisher jewelry Jay wore a Tom Ford  tux.
Academy-Award nominee Julia Roberts was a presenter.

Producer of the Year Grammy winner Pharrell Williams was the talk of the show with his interesting forest ranger hat, seen here cutting up with Jay and Bey backstage.

And again with another pop star royal couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz.
