Chelsea Clinton & Reese Witherspoon cover fashion magazines

Two of the celeb  ladies we’ve covered lately looked amazing covering top fashion magazine’s respective May issue.
In Elle, First Daughter talks about life before and after giving birth to daughter Charlotte with husband of 4-years Marc Mezvinsky.
“Marc and I are like, ‘What did we do before we were  parents?'”said Clinton who looked really a woman who just gave birth six months ago. ” My whole life is reoriented around my daughter in the most blessed sense. I now understand—this is something else that Marc and I talk about all the time—all of the enthusiastic, bombastically spectacular, wonderful things people say about their children, because we also feel and think all those things about Charlotte—that she is just the most remarkable little bubbly, perfect, chunky monkey creature ever.”

You can read the rest of the interview in the digital copy or in magazines on the racks.

Reese Witherspoon looks equally stunning covering InStyle  magazine in a trendy feathered indigo blue belted sleeveless dress.Read about what’s going on with the Academy-Award winning actress’ life.

The Platform Shoe Trend: Which One Fits Your Personality?

I’m so excited to learn that 70s style clothing, shoes and accessories are trending this Spring. What’s also great for fashionable pregnant mamas to know is that the platform style shoe is also hot.
I love platforms because they are not as uncomfortable to wear as other high heel styles, yet they come in so many varieties, styles, colors and designs.  The thicker toe area below the balls of the feet provide more support than traditional heels.  For these reasons, the shoe is even a better option for moms-to-be who want some height but not the instability as traditional heels and pumps.
I’ve curated a collection of styles of platform shoe that have their own personality. Which one matches you best?

Lighten your Hair Naturally this Spring

If you are expecting, you may be nervous about putting chemicals in your hair and getting streaks or highlights put in your hair as the weather warms.
Never fear, you can always resort to that old traditional standby for highlighting your hair: lemon juice.
How to lightening your hair at home. 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup room temperature chamomile tea, 1/2 cup room temperature water, juice from one freshly squeezed lemon. Mix it all in a spray bottle.
Spray in your hair and saturate through edges. When you are out and about in sunny days, the solution in your hair will naturally lighten your hair when activated by powerful warm sun rays!
Good luck and Good looking!

Celeb-inspired Easter Dress Style Ideas

If you are currently preggers and planning what to wear to church this Easter, here are some Throwback  pics of celebrities who looked fashionable and delightful in dresses that would be suitable for Easter Service, an Easter Egg Roll or an Easter Brunch

Go casual in a flowy maxi dress under a denim jacket like Kristin Cavallari did during her first pregnancy with son Camden jack two years ago or a billowy-sleeved Bohemian top under cropped pants like what  Korean actress Kim Hee-sun wore during a GAP maternity campaign in 2009. Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie also dressed up and down the maxi dress and you can too.

If you’re looking to look more formal, go with bold and pastel colors or cream mid-length dresses like how Kate Hudson, Christina Applegate,  Jolie, Gwen Stefani and Reese Witherspoon during their respective last pregnancy.
Happy Easter!

10 Maternity Style Ideas for the Petite Pregnant woman

Just resharing an old 2013 post just because I realize how great these looks ar for Petite (under 5’3″) pregnant women who want style inspiration ideas:

We thought we’d check in and share some of the recent fab looks from our favorite Instagram fashion mom-to-be Wadrobeinventory.

Since we last visited, she has managed to keep her maternity style well into her final trimester. The mom of two recently fabulously pulled off the above look which features a Theory blazer under A Pea In the Pod skirt, accented with Christian DKNY aviators, Christian Louboutin heels and a Hermes Birkin bag. She is keeping it stylish even at 34 weeks pregnant.

There’s been much talk over Kim Kardashian’s fashion misses as she struggles to dress her bump. Several sites and commenters to stories have exclaimed that it is not easy or virtually impossible to look stylish while pregnant. We beg to differ and know several women who have managed to pull it off and without much effort.

Want to know the secret?

Stay tuned for an interview where we’ll get her tips and suggestions for the everyday mom to pull off some of her chic looks for their pregnancies.

Since our last profile, this haute mom at 24 weeks looked well put together in an Abercrombie & Fitch sweater, a Lavish scarf, Heidi Klum jeggins under a Guess Military style jacket and pulled together with a pair of Uggs boots, DKNY aviaors and a Louis Vuitton carry all.

A month later at 28 weeks, she wore a large flower pin over a belt and layered complementing scarfs over a Banana Republic Vince top and A Pea in the Pod leggings with Stuart Weitzman boots and Chanel bag. FAB!

We’re loving this look of our blog favorite Isabella Oliver top over a J Crew tiered skirt paired with Stuart Weitzman suede booties, Motherhood Maternity tights, Tiffany & Co bracelets and a Banana Republic brooch to top off this flirty yet  pristine outfit.

For this smart office look, Ms Wardrobe Inventory donned a flower pin over a Theory dress layered under a  pinstripe wool blazer from Banana Republic. She managed to get a quality pair of Motherhood Maternity tights on sale and is pulling the entire look together with a Chanel cross-body bag and Louboutin heels.

A J Screw skirt in mustard, Ann Taylor top in unsuspecting colors pulled this look togetehr which is accentuated with low Louboutin heels as she totes a burgundy Balenciaga bag. Love it!

She was rocking layered Stella and Dot necklaces with her Ann Taylor dress belted by a Banana Republic piece and brightened by a scarf from Nicole Richie and bottomed out with J Crew leggins. Michael Kors jewelry brightened the look with Stuart Weitzman boots, Hermes Birkin bag. Who looks this fab at 29 weeks?

Mom decided to get a chic mommy bob! And it worked so well with her Vince top under a J Crew sweater and paired with her Stuart Weitzman knee high boots and a Longchamp bag. The above the bump, below the breast bone belt was by Ann Taylor and she added some shiny bracelets from Kate Spade and Juicy Couture. Working it like it’s hot at 25 weeks.

Because all pregnant women usually can work a Maxi dress, she went with this Nordstrom brand maxi desses, under a Hinge Sweater, draped with a Banana Republic scarf and polished with a Birkin band and Stuart Weitzman boots. She was 30 weeks here.

Last week as she entered her 34th week of pregnancy, for Easter, she pulled off this Isabella Oliver top, J Crew skirt, set off with Stella and Dot bracelets, Saks Fifth Avenue accessories, nude Louboutin pumps and a Gucci clutch.

Love them all! Which is your favorite? What question would you ask our fave IG mom to be.

Maternity Styling Tips for a Chic Pregnancy

Online family clothing retailer Zulily.com is having its Maternity Week and has released its second annual best dressed bump list which includes some of the celebrity moms we cover here in Bellyitchblog: Carrie Underwood, Tamera Mowry Housley and Zooey Deschanel, among others.
To commemorate the week of specialized looks for less showcased on the site this week and award season, its Maternity Fashion Expert Robin Otto offers these great styling tips and tricks for expecting mothers everywhere:
#1- Invest in a great pair of maternity jeans.
Purchase a pair of over-the-belly denim when you are about 13-16 weeks along.  It may seem unnecessary in the early stages, but you will be grateful that you have them once you hit the 6-month mark.
*Style Tip: you can fold over the belly to create an underbelly jean if you do not fill out the belly band or if you need added support at the hip area.  You can also do the same thing after pregnancy, stretching (pun intended!) the life of your jeans.
#2- Look for side-ruched tops
“Side ruched” tops are great because they hide the early pregnancy belly when you haven’t quite popped yet, as well as camouflage any problem areas after baby has arrived.
*Style Tip: Look out for tees like that are 100% cotton.  They do not hold their shape as well as tops with a spandex blend.

#3 Buy true maternity wear instead of just going up a size.
Maternity clothes are fit to a pregnant model and designed with a drape to accommodate a growing baby bump. Invest in key pieces to get you comfortably through pregnancy.
*Style Tip: If you want to utilize some of your pre-pregnancy wear, put on your pre-pregnancy blazers and cardigans open and pair them with a fitted maternity tee and maternity pants.

Following these suggestions should get you well on your way to a stylish pregnancy.

Trend Alert: How to rock the Fringe trend

Fringe played big on the runways of many shows this year’s Fashion Week season at various locales across the globe. It’s funky and bohemian but not necessarily a trend that expecting women can expect to pull off.
