The late night talk show host is famous for his calls on America to prank their family members with the infamous, “I ate all the Halloween candy” parent prank on their kids.
For Father’s Day, the funny man invited his audience to prank their dads by running up to them and yelling, “I love you!” and capture their reactions. After poring over hundreds and hundreds of submissions, the talk show released a compilation of the best tonight during its broadcast!
Before the Academy Award broadcast on Sunday, February 27 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, second-time mom-to-be Natalie Portman announced that she was too pregnant to attend.
The Jackie biopic star released a statement about her decision to sit out the award show and stay home with husband, choreographer Benjamin Millepied and 5-year old son, Aleph.
“Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards,” Postman said in a statement to E! News on Saturday. “I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
The actress is nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for her leading role in Jackie. She had previously won an Oscar for the 2010 filmBlack Swanand was nominated before that for her supporting role in the 2004 movie Closer.
Portman was also nominated for Best Female Lead at the Film Independent Spirit Awards for her role in Jackie. The film also got an Oscar nod for Best Feature, Best Director and Best Editing.
Back in 2011, she accepted her Oscar for Best Actress while pregnant with Aleph and thanked Millepied, a choreographer who worked with her on the film, for giving her “the most important role of [her] life.” Her then soon-to-be-born son. Awwww!
Though not there in person, she was seen in an Oscar night version of host Jimmy Kimmel‘s popular “Mean Tweets” segment.
She read the first one actually: “I feel like if u went to lunch w/Natalie Portman she would only order a hot tea with Lemon and MAYBE some toast, but definitely not an entree tho,” she read before the camera pans out and she turns to show the silhouette of her big belly.”
“You’re wrong,” she whispers looking the camera dead in the eye! Hilarious.
Parents, link up with your area dentist to donate all that surplus candy your kids will get this Halloween to troops and First Responders.
I’ve blogged before about various organizations that collect candy and this year Kool Smile dental offices are collecting candy beginning Friday, Oct. 28 through Saturday, Nov. 5. You don’t have to be a current patient to participate!
For every 25 pieces of candy you donate, Kool Smiles will give you a toy for your kid and we know toys are better for preventing cavities than sticky sweet candy.
Operation Gratitudeannually sends 200,000+ care packages to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home. Each package is filled with food, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, as well as personal letters of support. Our mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation. Each package contains donated product valued between $45 and $100 and costs our organization $15 to assemble and ship. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 1.6 Million Care Packages.
Last year, Kool Smiles patient families donated a record-breaking 6,520 pounds of Halloween candy, that’s over 3 tons, to the men and women serving in the Armed Forces overseas.
Awesome! Better than scaring your kids with Jimmy Kimmel‘s “I ate all the candy” prank!

“You can’t have sushi. You can’t have cheese that tastes good. You can have a little bit [of coffee], but I would have, like, four cups a day. And now I can have a half cup, which is a joke! It’s a total joke!”
Good luck mama! Good thing it’s only 49 weeks of inconvenience.

During the filming of her new video for her song “Birthday”, pop singer Katy Perry apparently wanted to simulate the real life shock on the faces of guests at a 5-year old’s birthday party by filming a pretty violent scene without cluing in the guests it was all fake.
In the scene, Perry is dressed as a party Clown and is shown hitting a little person assistant also dressed in a clown suit with a bat. She then runs into an adjascent street outside the party, which took place at the Knollwood Country Club outside LA, and causes a head-on auto accident. All of it is for the video and the drivers of the cars were stunt drivers.
However, according to TMZ, children and other guests were traumatized at seeing the scene unfold not knowing it was staged.
Eye witnesses told TMZ, children were crying and one woman stormed away, visibly upset.
In the video of the scene below, one little girl can be heard saying “mommy, I want to leave.”
Perry herself told Jimmy Kimmel this Monday on his late-night show where she screened a snippet of the finished video that she was 6 inches off her mark, meaning, a few more inches, she could have gotten hit by the truck and killed. Yikes!
After the fracas, the guests were told it was Perry, she took off her wig and all had a good laugh,
There are adults who have serious phobias of clowns today over traumatizing run-ins with them when they were children. We can forsee some future cases. Also, for an adult to witness a head on crash can be jarring, imagine what a kid would go through. Yikes!
What are your thoughts? Innocent fun or not cool to traumatize kids potentially for life.
