Molly Sims Does Another cute Balloon Gender Reveal for Baby #3

Molly Sims - Mixed Makeup - photographs by Erica Hampton

Expectant mom Molly Sims revealed her baby’s gender in a cute little YouTube video she released this week.

In the video that she posted on her website, the former model is shown with her 4-year old son Brooks Alan and 19-month old daughter opening up a box filled with balloons that are either pink or blue.

When they lift the top, blue balloons float out so…she is having a boy! Later in the video, her kids are seen painting her belly with blue finger paint.

Sims told the kids they are “going to have a baby brother.” She went on to say that Brooks has already named the baby “Jack and the Bean Stalk-Batman” and that it’s been “really sweet to see him so involved.”

Also, this week the 43-year old stepped out on Thursday, November 10, in a cute H&M print midi dress as she headed off shopping to Barneys New York in Beverly Hills California.

In August, Sims announced her third pregnancy with husband, movie producer Scott Stuber. In another video posted on her website, the Las Vegas actress broke down talking about fertility struggles she had to conceive her first child which she welcomed at age 39 but we must say, having had 3 kids back to back after that, including an unplanned one, she’s over that hump

The “Everyday Supermodel” author has a tradition of big video gender reveals. Last January 2015, she had a big reveal for her then soon-to-be-born daughter. Lovely!

Molly Sims Talks Diaper Need and Third Pregnancy on ‘The Real’

molly sims the real2

This week is National Diaper Awareness week, a time to bring awareness to the general population of the importance of supporting organizations that provide clean diapers to families in need.

Model, TV host, author and mom-to-be Molly Sims hit up the ladies on the FOX Emmy-nominated daytime talk show The Real  yesterday to talk about her third pregnancy and  working with the nonprofit organization Baby2Baby, which provides low-income children with diapers, clothing and basic necessities.

Baby2Baby co-founders Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein join Molly and shed light on how many mothers must decide between providing their babies with diapers or food.

There is a startling stat: one out of three moms has to choose between food and diapers, the Baby2Baby founders shared on the show when explaining their efforts to also get policy and laws changed to make it easier and cheaper for families to have access to diapers.

“Can you imagine a woman taking off a dirty diaper off her baby,  hanging it up to dry and putting it back on her baby, there’s nothing luxurious about that,” Weinstein said of an effort to get a bill passed that would remove sales tax from diapers in California given that diapers is not a luxury. Wow!

Members of the audience and the show gifted 2,000 diapers to Baby2Baby during the segment. Nice!

Molly Sims is Having a Not -So-Easy Third Pregnancy

Former model Molly Sims has been having a textbook pregnancy so far but it hasn’t been easy. She had loads of morning sickness early on, craved chocolate like crazy and struggles with balancing two kids while pregnant with a third.

The TV host and blogger shared these insights with PEOPLE magazine recently.

She also opened up about how her advanced maternal age had her and hubby Scott Stuber a bit nervous.

“Being 43 … we wanted to tell everyone, but we were super nervous about, you know, the testing … so it’s just been really, really stressful, but everything so far is on track,” she told PEOPLE magazine.

“I’m not gonna show you guys yet, but there might be a little bit of an ultrasound in here,” she sing-songs, holding up a strip of sonogram photos briefly before taking them out of view. “But we’ll get to that — that’s a surprise. You’ll have to keep watching.”

We think it’s a boy!

Sims is mom to 4-year old Brooks and 14-month old Scarlett.

Sims said she had almost gotten her pre-pregnancy body back when she found out she was expecting again. Doh!

Thanksgiving Traveling with A Toddler Tips

Molly Sims Instagrammed herself with her 7-month old daughter Scarlett in a baby carrier and her 3-year old son in tow also as they prepared to travel for the holidays. “Nyc bound #weredoingthis” the actress and model captioned the photo taken yesterday.

If your family is hitting the road and taking a long-distance car trip to your Thanksgiving destination this year, here are snippets from our Thanksgiving travel tips to make it a smoother ride especially if you’re traveling with a toddler:

Set Clear Expectations

Before venturing out on the road, start small and positive by setting guidelines, says Carrie Krawiec, Michigan-based family therapist at Birmingham Maple Clinic. “Parents can set their children up for success by creating easy-to-remember expectations before leaving home,” she says. Create a list of five car behaviors to follow, such as keeping your hands to yourself and your bottom in the seat, using an inside voice and avoiding putting your feet on chair in front of you, suggests Krawiec.

Encourage positive behavior with travel rewards. “Parents can gauge their child’s level of attention by saying ‘I am going to watch these things and every five minutes if you have done this, you will earn a point for a sticker or silly band,’” says Krawiec. “This will make travel more cooperative.”

Charge Electronics

Even though you may limit your toddler’s time with tablets and electronic games at home, an iPad or Gameboy may be just what your child needs while traveling on long road trips. “With the age of technology, we have a big bonus,” says Christine Gutierrez, New York-based psychotherapist.

Many vehicles come equipped with DVD players and outlets for charging electronics to ease the challenge of traveling with young children. Pop in your child’s favorite movie or host a family sing-along with his favorite CD.

Make the trip educational, too. Download educational games and applications on a tablet to entertain your child or pick up a book or CD before taking off on your road trip. “Compromise is key here,” says Gutierrez. “Make baby happy and the rest of you shall be happy in the car as well.”

Chomp Down on Snacks Often, hunger cravings can cause a toddler to act out or misbehave. Prepare for a long road trip by packing a cooler of snacks and drinks to satisfy his hunger. Non-messy items, such as grapes, carrots or fruit gummies, will keep your toddler and your vehicle clean during snack time. Juice packs or milk in a Sippy cup can also comfort a sleepy toddler while traveling.

Break Out Goodie Bags The idea of being locked inside a vehicle for hours on end doesn’t necessarily sound appealing to a young child; however, if the trip includes goodie bags filled with games and activities, she may be more than eager to jump into that car seat.

Keep the bag in the front seat with you and break out games and activities along the way as your toddler gets antsy, such as a coloring book and crayons, an etch-a-sketch or even bubbles to blow out the window. Make the trip educational by purchasing a map and asking your toddler to point out states you drive through or license plates from each state. When your toddler is tired of one game or activity, take out another to keep her occupied.

Parents can include any of the following in a “goodie” bag for a long road trip with toddlers:

  • Dry erase board with markers
  • Stickers
  • Small Cars
  • New Books
  • Paper for Drawing
  • Travel Versions of Favorite Games
  • Dollar Store Finds

You can make activities much simpler by bringing along a lap desk or a cookie sheet your child can place on her lap. As a bonus, using magnets on the cookie sheet creates a game of its own, and the raised edges will prevent crayons or cars from landing on the floor of the car.

“Planning ahead is the key to preventing restless, unhappy children (and parents) during a car trip,” says Richard Peterson, vice president of education at Kiddie Academy. “In fact, you can even sneak in a little education along the way by playing classic car games, adjusted to fit your child’s age.”

Peterson suggests asking toddlers to search for shapes, colors or specific objects along the way. “The games will serve as a distraction, but also help to hone observation skills,” he says.

If all else fails, crank up the tunes or make a pit stop at a park along the way to deter boredom for your little one. “Boredom is probably the biggest difficulty your child will encounter during a long car trip,” says Peterson. “Toddlers live in the here and now and do not have the life experience to understand that the destination will be worth the time in the car seat.”

Rachel Zoe’s New Lifetime Fashion Review Show is Nicer than ‘Fashion Police’

rachel zoe

Rachel Zoe is back on TV hosting a weekly fashion review program on Lifetime Television called Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe. It premiered on September 24th. It is like Fashion Police meets Watch What Happens Live. But she says it is nicer.

Each week, Zoe and her co-host fashion insider and Vanity Fair‘s Man On The Street, Derek Blasberg, her  husband Rodger Berman, and their celebrity friends, meet up to talk fashion and review the week’s red carpet and celebrity street style.

It also reminds me a bit of the show on E! that I loved that Kristin Cavallari co-hosted, The FabulistI’m not sure if it returned because I haven’t seen new episodes.

Anyway, back to Zoe.  On the second show, the celebrity stylist turned designer interviews another Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum, Molly Sims.

During her 10 questions segment, Sims reveals she is always late and her favorite hashtag is #MomLife. She answers other rapid fire questions. Watch!

This coming Thursday, tune in to see her joined by another one of her friends and another Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum, Nicole Richie!

Watch Zoe chat about the show and why it is different from other fashion talk shows out there now on a recent episode of Access Hollywood.

The show airs Thursdays at 10:30 pm ET.
