We have covered many celebrity pregnancies over the past decade. And we love to keeep up with the families after they welcome theirs lottle ones.

In year’s past, we’ve recognized the celebrities that we followed most and we’ve even awarded superlatives. This year, while reviewing a year’s worth of posts, we are prepared to award the Bellyitch Bumpwatch Celebrity Mom-to-Be of the Year.
The honor goes to…. The Over 40 Celebrity!
Several stars including Savannah Guthrie, 45, Tyra Banks (via surrogate) 43, Lisa Ling, 43, Tameka “Tiny” Cottles 40, Eva Mendes, 42, Keri Russell, 40, Alanis Morissette, 42 and Janet Jackson, 50 welcomed or announced a pregnancy this year.
Why do they deserve special recognition over the 20 and 30-something millennial celebrities who also gave birth in 2016, you ask?
As women age, it becomes even more challenging to conceive without medical intervention and to carry a baby to term. Therefore, when it happens, there is even more reason to celebrate given the odds and hurdles that must be overcome to achieve success.
Gestational carrier, surrogacy, adoption and other medical methods like IVF and donor egg have made it possible for some. A few have been successful without medical assistance. Either way, our hats off to those who balanced career and family and still had the time, ability and inclination to want to welcome a new addition in 2016.
You guys are the real MVP!
And more veteran moms over 40 have been keeping up and showing out the younger ones by showing off super fit bods. Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Ripa, Mel B. and Halle Berry shared photos of themselves in social media with super toned and ripped physiques.
Granted, we know celebrity women have access to personal chefs, trainers and a team of assistants to help them out with their children so they can hit the gym regularly and often. Also, they work in an industry where it is essential for them to have their bodies snatched back into fit and trim shape, but it still takes harder work and more dedication to stay fit when your metabolism slows and it gets harder to shed pounds and keep it off.

This week, we get to see and bump watch TODAY Show anchor Savannah Guthrie who will be broadcasting live from Cleveland as the Republican National Convention starts today, and live-streamed on NBCNews.com.
The network announced its anchor lineup last week and I noticed that Guthrie was the only woman in it! Very Cool!
Today, during a lead in segment on local channel, the second-time mom-to-be asked what’s the best food must-have Cleveland food specialty. “The pregnant person wants to know,” the veteran journalist joked while decked in a cute purple dress.

TODAY host Savannah Guthrie has opted out of covering the Rio Olympics this summer, per doctor’s orders. The 44-year old and her husband Mike Feldman are expecting their second child.
#CongratsSavannah was trending on Twitter this morning after the host made the announcement this morning.
She gathered in her co-hosts by pretending to play a game of Tuesday Trending Fishbowl and drew the question, “Are You Pregnant” to which she answered, “Well yeah, I am pregnant.”
Feldman and her husband are parents to 21-month old Vale, who showed up on the set shortly after the announcement wearing a big sister shirt declaring her status. “I was here first,” her yellow shirt read.
This morning, Guthrie blogged about the news and “the thought of getting to add ” to her family now.
It “is beyond every hope, dream and prayer I have ever had. It is not simply double the joy — it is joy multiplied infinitely,” she wrote.
Given all the warnings about Zika virus in the Caribbean and South America, it was a no-brainer that she’d miss it.
“The doctors say that we shouldn’t because of the Zika virus so I’ll miss it,” Savannah said. “You’re going to have to go to female beach volleyball without me, Matt. Try to carry on.”
She’ll be busy with all the Presidential election circus anyway. ha! Congrats again!
Congratulations to TODAY co-host and legal correspondent Savannah Guthrie on the birth of her daughter, Vale Guthrie Feldman yesterday, Wednesday August 13.
She and her husband Mike Feldman, who only married this past March, welcomed the new addition, which Guthrie tweeted about later:

Matt Lauer told the TODAY show crew that “Vale is an old English word meaning ‘valley by a stream,'” and that “they named her that because she was so calm and serene – until 10 o’clock last night.”
ha!
She also joked about the first photos shared on Twitter above, “The baby is more cheek than head.”
So funny! Congrats!
I know we shouldn’t pile on the pounds during pregnancy. It isn’t healthy, and we don’t want to dig a weight gain hole so deep we can’t Jazzercise our way out of it. But let’s keep it in perspective. It is just a recommendation. If we look and feel healthy, can’t we give ourselves a break?
At this stage of pregnancy, the average baby weighs 2-3 pounds. The other 28 pounds is boobs, clearly, and who knows what else: blood and fluid and placenta and what have you. You know what we don’t need? Another big heaping serving of guilt weighing us down.
