Chelsea Clinton Welcomes Third Child, Son, Jasper

Congrats to Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton and her husband Mark Mezvinsky on the birth of their third child, a baby boy!

“This morning we welcomed our son, Jasper Clinton Mezvinsky,” the philanthropist and children’s book author tweeted. “We are overflowing with love and gratitude and can’t wait to introduce him to his big sister and brother.”

The family’s new addition joins two older siblings: big brother Aidan, 3, and sister Charlotte, 4½.

Her mom, former US Secretary of State and former First Lady, Hillary Clinton, shared the news on Twitter, tweeting, ” “Sharing some happy news this morning! Bill and I are so thrilled.”

Chelsea has said that motherhood sparked her interest to become a children’s book author.

“[My kids] love being read to and talking about what they’re reading in books. Particularly for young readers, books are not only a way to help break down and communicate ideas [but] stories of real empowerment,” she told PEOPLE this past October.

Her latest children’s release, “Don’t Let Them Disappear is about endangered animals and “provides helpful tips on what we all can do to help prevent these animals from disappearing from our world entirely,” according to the book’s description.

Chelsea Clinton Baited to Criticize her Friend Ivanka Trump’s Dad; She Snatched it

chelsea and ivanka

Remember when we posted about how our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump were still good friends despite the fact that their respective parents were going against each other head to head for the job of US President?

Well, it looks like things may start to get personal.

During a Facebook Live event on Tuesday, July 25, Glamour Editor in Chief Cindi Leiv pinned Chelsea down on her friendship with Ivanka and tested it a bit, egging her on to criticize Ivanka’s dad Donald Trump, CBS News reports.

“So you and Ivanka are friendly, I know,” Leiv asked. “if you got to ask her a question about how her father would do that, what would it be?”

Chelsea had a quick answer! “It would be that question: ‘How would your father do that?'”

“Given it’s not something that he has spoken about, there are no policies on any of those fronts that you just mentioned on his website — not last week, not this week,” she said. “So I think the ‘how’ question is super important. In politics as it is in life.”

“So it really matters to me that my mom in this election consistently has told you how she is going to do everything,” Clinton continued. “Whether that’s on gun control or protecting a woman’s right to choose or any of the things we’ve talked about. She also tells you how she’s going to pay for it.”

“It’s something I hope would matter to that traditional Republican voter,” the former first daughter said, before adding that Trump’s plans could add trillions of dollars to the national debt. “Social progress should also come with social responsibility and fiscal responsibility.”

Game on!

Last week, Ivanka gave an amazing speech that trumpeted the importance of women’s rights and options. She didn’t announce that she was a Republican and a lot of Democrats and Independents actually resonated and agreed with Ivanka. Some asked why she wasn’t the one running for President instead of her dad.

Watch Ivanka’s powerful and impassioned speech, the best of the convention, in our opinion, here.

Actually, couldn’t you see an Ivanka Trump v. Chelsea Clinton run in the future?

So Anyone Else Notice the ‘Sex and the City’ Link to Chelsea Clinton’s Kids’ Names?

sex and the city

So… Is anyone going to point out the Sex and the City connection with Chelsea Clinton‘s children’s names? The former First Daughter and her husband Marc Mezvinsky named their first child, daughter Charlotte and their newborn son, Aidan. He was born on Saturday, June 18.

Both names are characters in the popular 90s HBO scripted series about a relationship advice columnist in the city, based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell. Sarah Jessica Parker played the columnist Carrie Bradshaw. The show centered around her friends Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall).

Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) had a reoccurring role for several seasons as Parker’s boyfriend.

Chelsea’s mom Hillary Clinton took a brief break from campaigning to become the next President of the United States to enjoy some time with her newest grandchild.

A bunch of people came to see her leave the hospital.  Later, her dad, President Bill Clinton shared a Father’s Day photo. “Aidan has made two dads very happy this Father’s Day,” the former head of the Free World captioned a photo of himself and son-in-law with baby Aidan. “Hillary and I are thrilled for Marc and Chelsea!”

Charlotte was born in October 2014.

Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump wont Let Their Parents’ Rivalry disrupt their Friendship

ivanka trump and chelsea clinton

Despite the fact that their parents may likely go head-to-head for the US Presidency, moms-to-be Chelsea Clinton, only daughter of former US Secretary of State  Hillary Clinton, and Ivanka Trump, daughter of business man Donald Trump are friends.

Just last November, the two hung out at the  Glamour Women of the Year award and in June, Ivanka shared a Chelsea tweet on her Twitter Account, PEOPLE  reports.

Chelsea has mutual admiration and praised Ivanka during a February Forbes magazine interview.

“She’s always aware of everyone around her and ensuring that everyone is enjoying the moment,” the former First Daughter told the business an finance magazine. “It’s an awareness that in some ways reminds me of my dad, and his ability to increase the joy of the room. There’s nothing skin-deep about Ivanka.”

She added, “And I think that’s a real tribute to her because certainly anyone as gorgeous as she is could have probably gone quite far being skin-deep.”

Chelsea is expecting her second child with husband Marc Mezvinsky and Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner are expecting their third.

We at the Bellyitch staff are also thinking about both ladies but especially Ivanka today given the death threat against her brother and Trump’s family if he doesn’t drop out of the race, as TMZ reported this morning.

When it comes to family time, Chelsea Clinton always makes it a priority.

Whether it’s supporting mom Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail or helping Former President Bill Clinton with the Clinton Initiative Project, Chelsea likes to keep her loved ones close.

So it should come as no surprise that when the author and activist celebrated her daughter’s first birthday over the weekend, it was family that was at the center of the fun.

“It was great. We had lots of balloons,” she told E! News exclusively. “[Charlotte] loves balloons, lots of bubbles and lots of books.”

Bill added, “The whole thing was a hoot. Oh my gosh, she is unbelievable.”

On Saturday evening, Chelsea even shared a candid snapshot of some mommy-daughter time that included a special story before bed. It’s the simple, but oh-so-sweet moments that Chelsea cherishes every day.

“It was actually “Where Is the Green Sheep?,” which at the moment is one of her favorite books,” the proud mom explained. “She loves to read, which as a mom just makes me so happy.”

In between parenting duties, the author of “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!” continues to make time to support the Clinton Global Initiative. As the nonprofit celebrates its 10-year anniversary, E! News’ Maria Menounos couldn’t help but ask about some of the many accomplishments the foundation has made.

“One of the things I am most proud of is all the work the Haiti Action Network has done,” Chelsea explained. “We’re talking about the five million trees that have been planted, tens of thousands of women that have been educated, the 50 schools that now have solar energy.”

Bill added, “I believe the most important thing is we’ve changed the nature of philanthropy. For example, two years ago the Starkey Hearing Aid Foundation was giving out 50,000 hearing aids a year. This year, they are already over 200,000.”

And while the next few months may be extra busy for the Clintons—Decision 2016 anyone?—it certainly won’t stop the family from making a difference.

“I hope in the next 10 years the number of people that we’ve helped will be in the billions,” Bill shared.

Chelsea Clinton doesn’t take all of Hillary Clinton’s motherhood advice

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has her grandbaby to distract her from email-gate.
In a recent interview with Sky NewsChelsea Clinton says she’s loving watching her mom be a great grandmother to her daughter, Charlotte.
However, Chelsea Clinton says she isn’t taking all of her mom’s baby advice.

“Some of it I take,” Clinton says. “And some of it I sort of smile and say, ‘Thank you’ for. I’m sure this is a common thing with new moms with their mothers.”
The former NBC news special correspondent would not confirm whether her mom planned to run for presidents.
She added “at this moment, she’s more Charlotte’s grandmother than anything else…It’s amazing…watching her read to Charlotte, watching her give Charlotte a bottle, watching her sing to Charlotte.”
