10 Must-See Viral Father-Daughter Dance-Off videos

Here is some light-hearted fun for your Sunday evening.

Who doesn’t love seeing choreographed routines but how about cute choreographed father-daughter routines…especially when they involve little girls and their dads?

We rounded up about 10 such videos after seeing a slight surge in them going viral lately.

First up is Kenny Link and his 7-year old dauhter Liliana who he spotted dancing “Dubstep” dance and when he asked her where she learned it, she said from “watching you”. So  cute. They taped a video which went viral

Next, check out this video mom took of dad and his daughter having a battle in the middle of Saturday morning house cleanup.

Dad and 4-year old daughter dance to Taylor Swift‘s “Shake it Off”

Another recent viral video features single dad, rapper Bryan and his 7-year old daughter Kimani doing the  “Baby Bop Slide”

A bit old, but Comedian Mike Hanley and his daughter Jessica at her birthday party and how smart are they for disabling comments to shield from all the negatively that seems to flow in viral videos.

London Johnson dances to Ariana Grande‘s “Problem” using moves choreographed by his 8-year old daughter.

This one is shorter but still cute:

And now a way bit older, but still worth sharing is Singer Liane V and her dad who release a series of cute Vines/IG videos weekly:

Ex ‘Price is Right’ model can retry her $7.7M pregnancy discrimination suit

Another high-profile pregnancy discrimination law suit is prepped for another round.
A California appeals court will allow former Price is Right model Brandi Cochran to appeal a lower court’s decision to throw out her $8.5 Million dollar pregnancy discrimination law suit award. (Which was later reduced to $7.7 million)
Cochran had alleged in 2010 that show producers made comment about her pregnancy weight and called it a “bad baby story”, then fired her when she returned from maternity leave after having her baby. (Sadly, one of the twins she was carrying died in child birth.)
After the award, a trial court that threw out the award because right before the jury deliberated Cochran’s case, the California Supreme court in another case changed the standard juries should consider when deciding employment discrimination cases. Instead of finding if discrimination was a “motivating” factor in the firing, juries and judges now have to find if it is “substantial” factor.
Cochrane was awarded a new trial but the producers of the show, Freemantle Media wanted to base the trial on evidence submitted in the initial case. There, the show argued that because producers were switching up the show from the Bob Barker era to the Drew Carey era when the models would interact more with the host and contestants, they were planning to fire Cochran anyway.
They may have been able to win using First Amendment grounds given how the show The Bachelor was able to escape a racial discrimination when a judge in that case found that “casting decisions are part and parcel of the Shows’ creative content.” Also, as The Hollywood Reporter notes, the producers of the NBC show Friends avoided a lawsuit arguing that sexist jokes among male writers was part of the creative process.
But no dice! Cochran will have her retrial and another bite at the apple and chance to convince a new jury that she was fired because of her pregnancy.

5 Ways to Avoid Package Theft this Holiday Season

Several homes in my town have had delivered packages stolen from their doorsteps after a delivery truck drops a package and the homeowner is unable to retrieve it quickly.
Enterprising thieves use the holiday season to wander through neighborhoods and pick off packages. Our police department and mayor shared the following tips that I am passing on to my readers.  These are 5 things you can do to avoid package theft this holiday season:
1. When you are at home, check your front door frequently for packages.  Delivery people tend not to knock and they deliver at seemingly all hours of the day and night.  The sooner a package is retrieved the less likely it will be seen and possibly stolen.
2.     It is safer to have your packages delivered to your place of work, if possible, so they are not left in view at your front door until you get home.
3.     If you have a trusted neighbor who is home most of the day, check with that neighbor to see if you can have your package delivered to his/her house where it is likely to be picked up  more quickly.
4.     Perhaps some enterprising person who is home most of the day would like to start a service by accepting package deliveries to his/her home for a reasonable fee.  (A little extra income for the Holiday Season!)
5.     If you see anything suspicious, call 911.  If you see someone either in a car, on a bicycle or walking that seems to be following a delivery truck or checking houses for packages, let the police know.  Officers can check it out, perhaps catching a thief or discouraging an attempt to steal packages.
Hope this helps you all and not let you become a victim of a Grinch!

Kristen Bell and bump featured in Samsung commercial w/husband Dax Shepard

Veronica Mars’ Kristen Bell and her husband Parenthood‘s Dax Shepard are super adorable in the new Samsung commercial about the Holidays.  The long spot features Bell’s baby bump prominently as the couple are expecting their second child shortly. They welcomed daughter Lincoln last March 2013.
In the commercial, Shepard makes runs to get foods to satisfy Bell’s cravings, and seemingly seems unhelpful in helping her pick the choice of cute maternity looks. Bell summed it up in her tweet presenting the commercial calling it what life is like in the Bell/Shepard household, the Daily Mail noted. Funny!
Check out a few stills and the commercial below!

REVIEW: Get Dreft’s new stain remover for hard-to-remove food & poopy diaper stains

Since the launch of this blog, I’ve always advocated that one of the first things first time moms-to-be do after having their baby shower and being gifted loads of infant clothes is to sterilize the clothes by washing them in detergent like Dreft.
The gentle cleanser has been around for ages even before newer brands entered the market, of late. It is void of all the harsh chemicals that can cause irritations on a a newborn’s skin.
That being said, I was thus elated to learn that Dreft has come out with a few new products that make it easy for new parents to clean hard-to-get out stains from baby’s clothes.  We tested out a review sample (valued about $25).
Its new Dreft Laundry Stain Remover detergent works well as a soak for those times when baby’s bottom explodes from trying out carrots for the first time or has a bad reaction to a new formula. You just need a small cap-ful of it to do the job. When washed, the yellow stained onesie we soaked for about an hour before washing came out quite free of any semblance of a stain.
Sweet!
For other stain lifting job, we tested the Dreft Laundry Stain spray travel sized sample and just spritzed on a few splashes on a red dress with some peas stains on it. This option is better because soaking a red shirt for too long could dull the color of the top. After a couple of rigorous rubs before tossing the entire dress in the wash worked to eliminate the baby food stain. The sample size of the spray is also portable and could be whipped out to pre-treat leaky poopy diaper stains without having to soil your hands with the excrement while out and about.
Finally, for treating stains on the go or while visiting grandma or relatives away from the home, the convenient pen is the best. During a shopping mall outing when our 6 month old baby tester threw up a little after a bottle feeding, leaving a yellowish stain on his bib.
To clean it, we immediately wiped the milk with a washcloth then used the Dreft Portable Pretreater Pen pen to rub across it for a few strokes and schucked in in the diaper bag.
About a few hours later, after we got home from holiday shopping, we hand washed the bib and could see the stain was gone for the most part.
Good job!
What a God send I wish I had when my little ones were that age. Think about picking it up for your baby’s hard to remove stains!

Mila Kunis keeps it real during first post-baby interview (VIDEO)

Kudos to Jupiter Ascending star Mila Kunis who kept it real while doing her first interview since welcoming daughter Wyatt Isabelle this October.
First, she credited Breastfeeding her fist child with actor Ashton Kutcher for her weight loss, which is important for encouraging more women to nurse trot babies after giving birth.
“Breatfeeding is a great workout,” the That 80’s Show alum told host Craig Ferguson on his The Late Late Show.
Second, while sharing how great it’s been taking time off, connecting with her new baby and bonding, she also acknowledged how maternity leave is a luxury for most women, and many don’t have paid leave so thy can relax and make memories with their newborn.
“Nowadays, people can’t do that. Everyone [in the household] has to have a job,” she said, adding that she plans to take Wyatt with her when she does return to work.
Bravo and Kudos, Mila!
