A Look At Chrissy Teigen’s 2nd Trimester Maternity Style

And now for the portion of our coverage when we dissect Chrissy Teigen’s second trimester looks.

Teigen announced in October that she was expecting her first child with her husband John Legend and we have been loving her maternity style!

Teigen hilariously told InStyle Australia and she and Legend come from a family of bigger people and said they have to watch what they eat and exercise otherwise they’ll blow up.

Well, you wouldn’t be able to tell by the way she remained pretty svelte and still able to get away with some edgy fashion for her second trimester of her pregnancy. She stuck with A-line dresses but didn’t shy away from mixing and matching pieces too.

I love the color of this Malene Birgir vertical striped silk dress. Hey, when you’ve got the legs, right?! Teigen went with Givenchy Clark Shark Lock Suede Sandals in a neutral color to match her camel colored coat. Fab!
I did a Splurge/Steal post on this very cute outfit Teigen wore shortly after announcing her pregancy. There was tremendous buzz over the outfit because it was sheer as well.
I like the plaid A-Line shirt dress Teigen while out and about. It’s freeing yet still stylish. This Peak-lapel wool-blend coat by Mugler worn overtop is fierce and as it should be when paired with a sharp black Hermes Birkin bag. And I want those Chloe platform boots but am bummed they’re sold out at Neiman’s. Shucks! Teigen capped off the look with a pair of aviator shades by Victoria Beckham.
Teigen loves her friend Beckham who outfitted her in this cute white mini dress. It is simple and chic and the bun makes it even cuter. And I was surprised to find out thse gold Kurt Geiger KG Hero Platforms are reasonably priced at just $64. Nice!

5. This Lace Trimmed Pencil Skirt dress by Self Portrait actually sold out, I believe after it was part of a trending topic on Social Media. Teigen wore look at an event also during the same week after she announced her pregnancy. It too was much buzzed about!

That was an A+ maternity look for the Second Trimester! Let’s see what Teigen and her stylist team bring us for this last trimester she is heading into. (if not already in)

Family & Holiday Photos Celebs Shared on Instagram This Week

This week, the celebrity families we’ve covered in the past, and generally, took to Instagram to share some tender Holiday moments. For example, Nick Cannon is having a grand time decorating the home with his twins Monroe and Moroccan, and even reuniting with his ex-wife Mariah Carey for some fun too.

Kensington Palace released a new photo of the Royal Family, Kate, William, Charlotte and George. The new pic looks like a holiday card but was likely taking in October as Charlotte is wearing the same floral dress from the last photo released of just her sitting in a gingham print chair.

Some celebs are busy finding creative ways to photograph the Elf on the Shelf and Busy Phillips is doing a pretty good job.

Our 2015 Pop Mom Style Icon is Kourtney Kardashian

It’s been over a year since we named a Bellyitch Blog Pop Mom Style Icon.

We’ve noticed mom-to-three Kourtney Kardashian has trimmed down and has also shed her Bohemian hipster styling for a more edgy sexy look. She has also been experimenting with more fab fashion choices, on top of balancing three kiddos on her hip.

The eldest of the Kardashian girls can thank a collection of Gianvito Rossi pumps and booties, her signature Saint Laurent fringe bag, distressed jeans, smart cut-off denim One Teaspoon shorts revealing super toned legs and fitted t-shirts for the makeover.

For the transformation, we’re giving the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality TV star the award this year.

It has been over a year since we acknowledged a fashion-forward celebrity mom worthy to receive our elusive Posh Mom Style Icon designation.

The last mominista recognized with the honor was Jennif er Hudson .

The designation acknowledges and recognizes fashionable celebrity moms who are effortlessly stylish with or without the help of a celebrity stylist.

We acknowledged songstress P!nk in 2012. Before her, First Lady Michelle Obama was dubbed an icon in 2011.

Other designees include Jada Pinkett Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Ripa, Victoria Beckham, Tichina Arnold and Christina Milian.

Bellyitch Bumpwatch Alums Married to Professional Athletes

Kristin Cavallari‘s second pregnancy with her husband Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler reminded us that many of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums are married and/or partners with professional athletes.

Like Cavallari, who is a shoe designer and TV host, Gisele Bundchen is also married to an NFL quarterback, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

It’s always interesting to note the height difference with some pairs, like: Adrienne Bosh and her husband Miami Heat NBA player Chris Bosh, Nashville actress Hayden Panattiere and her fiance Heavyweight boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko, and Savannah Brinson and Cleveland Cavaliers NBA player LeBron “King” James (in article header).

Scandal‘s Kerry Washington keeps her relationship and marriage to hunky former NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha secret but when spotted out, they both look adorbs together, as do Kim Zolciack-Biermann and her husband Troy Biermann of the Atlanta Falcons. Though, the very gorgeous Biermanns are very public as can be seen up and down Kim’s Instagram page.

And the “other” footballers (soccer) from across the ocean include Caroline Berg Eriksen and her husband Norwegian Premier League football player Lars-Kristian Eriksen, and the very fashionable and chic A-List couple Victoria Beckham and her retired football star spouse David Beckham.

Representing the Hockey League are Hilary Duff and her Canadian professional hockey player estranged hubby Mike Comerie (whom she is currently divorcing from) and Carrie Underwood with her NHL Nashville Predators hubby Mike Fisher.

Finally, Monica Brown and her ex NBA star hubby Shannon Brown have one of the most endearing relationships and a wonderful blended family. Same with Evelyn Lozada and her hubby LA Dodgers Major League baseball star hubby Carl Crawford.

Couture kids clothes spending is not just for Celebrity Kids, how Affluent parents spend a killing too

A decade ago, who would have been able to predict that at the tender age of 6 months old celebrity offsprings like Harper Beckham, Mason Disick, Suri Cruise, North West, Skylar Berman and the like would be fashion trendsetters, but they were.

That’s the spin on a New York Post piece today highlighting some of the affluent parents who spend loads of money outfitting their children as young as a few months old in super expensive couture and designer kids clothing.

One Brooklyn mom, Priscilla Monteiro, purchased for her 5-month old daughter Yasmine and 4-year old girl Vera outfits that cost over $1400 total each to wear to a swanky industry party on a yacht during the Cannes Films Festival later this May. Another Danielle Fornes, a blogger and former educator, mixes up her high end and affordable pieces but still doesn’t think twice about dressing her daughter Jolie in a $395 Ralph Lauren dress and $75 Nordstrom ballet flats.

But Fornes has figured out how to make a business out of it. The investment banker’s wife is a kid stylist who charges Upper West Side parents $200 per hour and $150 for an additional child to dress their kids for upscale events and parties, and essentially to “keep up with the Joneses.”

“These children on the Upper West Side go to a lot of parties, and though the mothers are friends, it’s embarrassing if their son or daughter is wearing the same outfit as someone else,” Fornes told the New York Post.

It’s a lucrative field and one that many of the top fashion houses aren’t leaving on the table. Roberto Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Chloe and other top designer lines all have children’s lines of clothing launched within the last few years.

Another Brooklyn mom Sharra Dade told the paper she dresses her daughter Alyssa who is a child model and actress in upscale clothing because of all the industry events she attends with celebrities. As the Post noted, Salma Hayek dresses her daughter, Valentina, in Gucci, and Victoria Beckham, dresses Harper, often in Burberry and Stella McCartney.

But Dade isn’t foolish. To offset the costs of the premium clothing, Alyssa’s realtor mom Dade later consigns the clothes that Alyssa wears only once or twice.

And business is booming.

Heidi Lieske of the store Be Mini Couture said “many of our customers are affluent 30- and 40-somethings influenced by mommy blogs and actors who appear with their kids in celebrity magazines.”

Very interesting as Bellyitch Blog has indeed been tracking, and noting the fashionable and posh clothing of celebrity and the Richie Rich’s of the world since it launched in 2007.

The Top 10 Most “Googled” Celebrity Kids

BuzzFeed has a quiz article out that asks which recently born or currently incubating celebrity baby will “reign supreme” in the future and be the “it” children that will be the most popular and most followed.

When you first see the headline, one may be inclined to roll one’s eyes and question why we have become a society that obsesses with children of celebrities.

But given that Bellyitch Blog since 2007 has covered and follows celebrity pregnancies, we must say that we have noticed that indeed there are certain celebrity off springs that get more attention than others.

Consider the fact that there are several websites like this and this one dedicated to Suri Cruise‘s fashion. And the offspring of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise is keeping food on people’s table. The author of a satirical website, Suri’s Burn Book, was able to parlay her popular snarky Tumblr blog about the tot to tween into a lucrative book deal.

Before Prince George even turned, he was already the star of the What Prince George Wore blog. Many people are also obsessed of how Blue Ivy and North West are wearing their hair and being dressed by their duo famous parents, Beyonce and Jay Z; and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Perhaps because their parents are popular, or they get the most paparazzi following them around or simply editors at magazines keep greenlighting articles about them, there are definitely more popular celeb kids.

From our unscientific and independent survey of various articles, stories and Google images that crop up under the subject “celebrity kid”, we’ve noticed that the top 10, who have the most images, include:

Trend: Lace bunny ears returneth!

Maison Michel Bunny ears became all the rage after being spotted on Lady Gaga and the Olsen twins in 2009.

Fashion forward Bellyitch BumpWatch alums Beyonce, Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham wore them in 2012, as has Kim Kardasian, Gwyneth Paltrow and Khloe Kardasian in the past.

And it appears the quirky and eclectic feminine fashion accessory has made their way back (or never really left).

In a recent fashion spread, new mom MTV‘s Run’s House and Daddy’s Little Girls alum Vanessa Simmons wore a pair.

The new Project Runway: Threads on Lifetime TV host even rocked them while sharing last minute Halloween costumes on Steve Harvey last week.

How Having a Baby Can Revive your Career in Hollywood

In 2011, Mommyish’s did a post about so-called “DList” celebrities who got more famous after having a baby. Actually, it reminded me of a piece we did earlier, in January that year that writer and TV personality Teresa Strasser wrote for us, “Top Celebrity Baby Exploiters of 2010“.

In that piece, Strasser exalted about how pregnancy can easily launch a reality TV cast member into the public spotlight and on the cover of the top gossip mags.

That was also the year for the 20th anniversary of Demi Moore’s iconic Vanity Fair cover which we’ve determined was also the start of the public’s infectious interest in celebrity pregnancies.

And it’s gone even more mainstream in recent years.

While watching back episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians (again late as usual), I noted Kim Kardashian stating that since she got pregnant, the paparazzi were even more ferocious and viral in search of pics. So true, as we’ve blogged before here, Kim, Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham, Snooki and Beyonce‘s respective pregnancies garnered the most stories written by traditional media and other outlets that do not usually cover celebrity parents and pregnancy.

In year’s past, we’d say such media organizations and writers may have even looked down on gossip blogs and mags that “bumpwatched.”

Not anymore. They’re right here in the pepper pot with the US Weekly, In Touch Weekly, OK!, People, PopSugar, E!Online, CelebLaundry, Perez Hilton and BellyitchBlog‘s of the world!

Yes, the Celebrity Bumpwatch Phenomenon is alive and thriving.
