Celebrity Era Baby Shower Theme Trend: ‘Southern Charm’s Cameron Eubanks 60s Baby Shower

Fellow cast members of Bravo TV reality show Southern Charm threw co-star Cameran Eubanks a 1960s-themed baby shower earlier this month. It is reminiscent to me of Serena Williams 1950s baby shower. Trend alert, maybe?

Everyone came dressed like the socialites famed photographer Slim Aarons used to snap on the height of his career.

Eubanks shared a photo of the crew along with a very graphic baby shower cake ordered by Whitney Sudler-Smith who planned the event with Patricia Altschul.

“I wanted a Slim Aarons elegant return to the 60’s for @camwimberly1 baby shower…. I had nothing to do with ordering this cake ….NOTHING!!” Altschul wrote on Instagram along with a pic of the group including Shep Rose decked out in the period clothing at the event some compliments of resort wear designer Lilly Pulitzer.

Another Tennis Baby: Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker Are Expecting Their Second

Tennis is quite fertile these days.

Luxembourg star Mandy Minella and tennis star Serena Williams are expecting babies this year. Then there is record-breaking world class Roger Federer who is the dad to two sets of twins.

Add former Number 1-seeded Andy Roddick to the list as he and wife actress Brooklyn Decker are expecting their second child together.

Earlier today, while being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I., the 34-year-old thanked his mom Blanche, late dad Jerry, his son Hank, his wife, and most notably, a daughter to come, E! News reports.

“Brook, I don’t know how you juggle it all… You hear a lot of guys find it very tough to walk away from professional sports, but you are the reason my personal transition into a quasi-everyday life has been gratifying and full,” the tennis star said during this acceptance speech. “Hank will someday realize how lucky he is, and our daughter that’s coming will also realize she has the best mother on Earth.”

The couple welcomed their son Hank on August 2015. The pair have been married since 2009.

The 2017 Espys Red Carpet & Winners

The 25th annual ESPY Awards celebrating the best in sports went down yesterday night.

Among the winners were our current Bellyitch Bumpwatch mom, Serena Williams who won for “Best Female Tennis Player” and Bumpwatch alum Candace Parker who won for Best WNBA player.

Famous dads we’ve featured on the blog also won, including LeBron James who won for Best Basketball player and our new fave Cristiano Ronaldo was nominated for best male Athlete.

The Sports award show was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Tennis Star Mandy Minella Competed in Wimbledon Pregnant

Serena Williams won the Australian Open while pregnant and while she is missing Wimbledon, another pregnant athlete was in the running to mimic Williams’ win.

The current #82 world ranked Tennis Star Mandy Minella is four and a half months pregnant

Unfortunately, the Luxembourg native lost in the Women’s Singles at Wimbledon on Monday and today lost with her Doubles partner Anastasija Sevastova  in a 6-1, 7-6 defeat.

She is taking the loss in stride and isn’t slowing down.

“Wimbledon is my last tournament this season,” she told the Luxemburger Wort newspaper. “I want to compete again at Wimbledon in 2018 – and bring the baby buggy.”

The 32-year old only announced this week that she was pregnant by posting on Instagram a pic of her husband Tim Sommer kissing her bump court-side.

She was so adorable with her baby bump on the court today. Love it! Congrats!

Inside Beyonce’s West African-Themed ‘Push Party’ Not Baby Shower

You might have heard of “Push Presents” and a Baby shower party to celebrate an impending arrival, but leave it to megastar Beyonce to have Push Party!

The multi-award winning recording artist starred in the festive West African themed affair held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, California.

Guests came dressed in colorful headdresses including some from Burkinabaé and also in gelées, kufis, and Ankara styles.

The guest of honor herself donned a  cropped African print top and garrah with her head wrap common in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Gambia and Sierra Leone which she accented with henna tattoos on her belly, a pregnant lady trend we’ve posted about in the past. Her oversize authentic bamboo fan earrings and jewelry all area native to West African costumes.

In Instagram posts Bey’s mom Tina Lawson shared on line, guests included Serena Williams, our Bumpwatch Alum Kelly Rowland who dressed in a Batik tie-dyed off-the-shoulder halter top and slim skirt, LaLa Anthony and another alum Vanessa Bryant also in a Burkinabaé head wrap and jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.

Black and White photos circulating on the Internet showed the venue decorated in African fabric as music from the late Nigerian artist Fela Kuti.

Also, her husband Rapper Jay Z was spotted dancing and having a ball.

We imagine a push party did not involve giving of gifts.

Or it could mean she’s closer to pushing than we think   Her mom was spotted at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA this week.

Gal Gadot Re-shot ‘Wonder Woman’ Stunt Scenes While 5 Months Preggers

So we already know by now that Serena Williams won the Australian Open in her early months of her pregnancy.

How about Gal Gadot, the actress who plays Wonder Woman in the upcoming film? She was 5 months pregnant when she returned to the studio to re-shoot some of her scenes, multiple sites are reporting.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gadot said the close up shots were easy but when it came to covering up her belly, producers had to be creative because visually, it was obvious, and impossible to hide behind a shield.

The solution? Green fabric over Gadot’s stomach so that her baby bump could be edited out in post-editing.

“On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman,” Gadot said. “On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog.”

Funny!

The much anticipated movie will be released this June 2.

Inside Ciara and Russell Wilson’s Baby Shower

Flower crowns and white outfits were the theme dress for Ciara and Russell Wilson‘s baby shower held last weekend.

Celebrity guests like Serena Williams and Lala Anthony snacked on Shake Shack catered menu while attending the extravagant co-ed baby shower

Per E! News, event planner Mindy Weiss organized the event that was “like no other.”

After dinner, the Ciara and Wilson’s close family and friends played games and danced the night away to music provided by DJ Nabs.

The party was held at a private home in Los Angeles where a tent was set up overlooking the city’s gorgeous skyline of bright green trees and blue skies. Inside, the tent was lit up by pretty string lights and big balloons that were adorned by gold and silver fringe. A dining area was formed in the shape of a square with balloons filling the space in the center and cute trinkets—like gold elephant statues, massive flower arrangements, candles and books—covered the table.

Nice! The couple announced they were expecting last October after a whirlwind romance and getting married in a ceremony in England.

The Reason only US Male Athletes have Pulled out of the Olympics because of Zika

Interesting enough, although the mosquito-born disease Zika is known to cause birth defects, so far all of the American athletes that have pulled out of attending the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil are men.

Arguably, a lot of these men are aware that if they plan to start a family or may start one soon, then they may be carriers of the disease. It travels through semen and can be transmitted by men to their partners. Women who are pregnant when they contract the disease may give birth to babies with birth defects.

But even if they are not planning to have a baby, the Centers for Disease Control has suggested that men abstain from sex for six months after returning from a country that has an epidemic of the disease and we know that is a lot of time to ask fellahs to be celibate.

Nonetheless, if a man catches the disease in the middle of the games, he risks being knocked out of competition because of the symptoms of the disease which include muscle pain, fever, rash and fatigue. All of these can impact a man’s athletic game. Also, there is a small risk of temporary paralysis if the virus triggers Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Today, tennis champ Serena Williams said she was sad to know so many have pulled out, but gets why still.

“At the same time, I obviously understand where they’re coming from and how they feel,” she told USA Today while in Wimbledon. Part of me feels that way, too, which is why I’m going in, you know, with a whole mindset of how do I protect myself, how do I prevent and also raise awareness for this.”

A recent Fortune article pointed out that the reason why female athletes haven’t pulled out yet is because of money. They simply do not get the same opportunities and men and cannot skip out on the potential prizes and the endorsement deals that may come if they win.

Isn’t interesting and sad at the same time.

Inside Ciara’s Surprise Superhero Themed 30th Birthday Party (PHOTOS)

 Kim K wasn’t our only Bellyitch Bumpwatch babe who had an epic celebratory birthday weekend. Songstress Ciara did too!

Several of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums including Beyonce and Kelly Rowland gathered in person and via satellite to celebrate her 30th birthday on Saturday, October 24 in Los Angeles, California,

The “Body Party” singer’s beau Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw the model-actress-songstress the surprise by tricking her into thinking she was meeting with friends for dinner, according to PEOPLE magazine’s source.

She was instead driven to the Warner Brothers studio lot where she was greeted by Wilson outfitted in a Batman outfit standing next to the Batmobile from the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Another Bumpwatch alum Jennifer Hudson sent birthday greetings via satellite as did Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Joe Jonas and Michael Strahan.

The star NFL player then gave her a body-hugging Cat Woman outfit for Ciara to change into. She was then whisked to another location where about 100 of her closest family and friends were waiting. 

 Comedian Jeff Dye, dressed as Marvel anti-hero The Punisher, captured a photo of himself with Bey as Storm, which he shared on his Twitter account.    

 Five years ago, for her 25th birthday, Ciara dressed as Storm as well.

Fast forwarding, this weekend, her 2-year old with her ex Future, son Future Zahir was there too looking super cute in an awesome Superman costume.

There was an awesome #Squad photo behind a green screen featuring Bey, Rowland as the super hero Black Canary, Lala Anthony as a female Captain America, World Tennis  champ Serena Williams not in costume but made up for it by her assistant Val Vogt dressed as Harley Quinn and Bey’s cousin/assistant Angie Beyince.

Jennifer Hudson sent birthday greetings via satellite as did Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Joe Jonas and Michael Strahan.

Only two years ago, Rowland and a few other celeb friends joined Ciara as she threw a surprise 30th birthday party for Future. Aaaah….what a difference two years make.
