Prince William is such a dad who decide to do just that recently. The British Royal and Duchess Catherine nee Kate Middleton’s hubby opted to skip the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, one of the big to-dos on the royal calendar recently. Instead, he hit the slopes with his boys in Verbier, Switzerland.
During the weekend’s raucous activities, one club goer captured the eldest son of the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles cutting loose on the dance floor and doing what looks like an awkward dad dance but he looks so cute doing it! Of course, the sleuths at TMZ.com got their mitts on it and broadcast it widely.
The palace isn’t happy with the tabloid fodder and William needs to confiscate mobile phones at clubs and parties when he cuts loose to avoid this but we love it!
Soon, Beyonce‘s twin pregnancy announcement will be the most recreated and spoofed around. Here is another pretty phenomenal job!
Social Media celeb and make up extraordinaire Jazmina Daniel has 1.1 Million followers who love Daniel’s exquisite make up and lip artistry. And a lot of Daniel’s fans are also Beyonce Knowles Beyhive members.
Recently, the gorgeous talent recreated Beyoncé’s pregnancy announcement on her lips in a dedication to Queen Bey who is expecting twins. Daniel said it took her over four hours to recreate and the results are AMAZING!

“I know I have a lot of Queen ? Fans out there! This one is for you! @beyonce Tag the Queen if you think she’d approve ?,” Daniel captioned her photo. And this isn’t the first awesome creation, of course.

Editor’s Note: So your break from Beyonce pregnancy posts is over. Sorry to the non-fans but the Bey Stan in me has a few more things to share. (smile)
This week, not only did Beyonce Knowles Carter give us pregnancy twin news, but she also overwhelmed fans, followers, haters and the like with tons of maternity photos…present and past.
As many know, the multi-platinum selling mega star’s first pregnancy was dogged and plagued by rumors that it was fake and that she used a surrogate to bring her and husband Sean “Jay-Z” Carter’s daughter, Blue Ivy in to the world.
It all stemmed from an interview with an Australian television show in October 2011 where the folds of her dress as she went to sit down made it appear as if her bump had caved in. In actuality, as conspiracy sites have discussed incessantly, her belly, then at 24 weeks was below the dress. But it hasn’t stopped many from thinking Mrs. Carter never carried Blue at all.
From an Instagram share of a beach trip with her bump covered in sand, to a snippet of a video Jay took while they vacationed in Croatia and shared on Tumblr revealing a very early bump, to silhouettes shots and post birth images seen in her 2013 HBO documentary, “Life is But a Dream”, she has subtly given the doubters visual proof that she really was pregnant. But they are relentless. Even a paparazzi capture of her in a sheer blue caftan by the pool didn’t sway them.
She didn’t seem fazed by the rumors, tellingKatie Couric in an interview before a performance at Roseland theater while still expecting, “You know there are certain things that are so far, it doesn’t even affect me…I am cool, it is so ridiculous and over the top.”
And in the HBO documentary, she addressed it again:
“A stupid rumor, the most ridiculous rumor I’ve ever had about me.To think that I would be that vain. I respect mothers and women so much. To be able to experience bringing a child into this world, if you’re lucky and fortunate enough to experience that, I would never ever take that for granted.”
Being private about her personal life may have been at the root.
She kept her relationship, courtship, marriage and pregnancy pretty private, but has opened a lot more since the documentary, to her very intimate and sensual “Beyonce” album, to the Lemonade album which many have hypothesized was autobiographical and about her marital struggles with Jay.
And now this time, she is being a lot more open about showing off her bump with not one, not two, but several nude and semi nude maternity portraits.
This week, her team also pushed out belly progression photos she took while pregnant with Blue, perhaps to head off new allegations and rumors before they start. Because her head is not in the photos, I’m not sure the suspicious will be convinced. They are certainly not stopping brand new allegations about this pregnancy either.
Oh well. The new photos are buzz-worthy, for sure.
The one that was released with the news is part of a session with famed Ethiopian-American photographer Awol Erizku, a Bronx, NY-raised graduate of Yale‘s Master of Fine Arts program. Not everyone could appreciate the eclectic purposefully gaudy look to the background and props (the car is part of a previous pop-up installation called “Ask the Dust“, PEOPLE reports), but it is signature to Erizku’s style. (by the looks of his other works) He says they are made up of the images that surrounding his upbringing in the Bronx.
Queen Bey accompanied the images from her photo album with the writings of another East Africa-born artist, Somali-British poet Warsan Shire. Her words, from a poem titled “I Have Three Hearts“, read:
“Mother is a cocoon where cells spark, limbs form, mother swells and stretches to protect her child, mother has one foot in this world and one foot in the next, mother, black venus.”
I agree with Quartz’ assessment, “that’s just how Beyoncé looks in these pictures, her pregnant body floating weightless amidst flowing fabric, her flower crowns undisturbed.
“Maternity photos will never be the same.”
Bustle mused: “Beyoncé’s latest photo album includes throwback shots of her pregnant with Blue Ivy followed by snapshots of her first daughter’s four years, all sticking with the rule of threes: She’s a family of three with Blue and Jay Z, and now she’s a three-hearted woman preparing for three children.”
There hasn’t been a baby in the US. White House for several administrations.
Enter 9-month old Baby Theodore James, the youngest child to Ivanka Trump. The almost 1-year old crawled for the first time the weekend of his grandfather’s inauguration as the President of the United States, Ivanka shared.
“There were so many incredible milestones this past weekend — including one for baby Theodore who crawled for the very first time in the White House!” Ivanka captioned a photo of the milestone.
Theodore was born last March and is the third child to Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. The couple are parents to 5-year old Arabella Rose and 3 year old Joseph Frederick.
The poll’s national survey of 1,442 parents of kids ages 6 to 18 released Monday found that the top factors in a decision to keep a child home are concerns that the illness will get worse or spread to classmates at school, NPR‘s Katherine Hobson summarized.
Also, the study found that parents are more likely to keep a child home with diarrhea, vomiting or fever, but send a child to school with a cough or runny nose.
When deciding whether to send a child to school, 2 in 5 parents of high schoolers view missing tests or instruction as a very important consideration, researchers discovered.
Interestingly enough, missing work was a “very important” concern of just 11 percent of those surveyed.
The University of Michigan’s Child Health Evaluation and Research Center published the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health.
Parents of older kids were also more likely to worry than parents of younger children about students missing tests or class time when making the stay-home-or-go-to-school decision.
“A lot of this is a judgment call,” says Gary Freed, a pediatrician and co-director of the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health.
The decision may not be up to the parent, but the policy of the school. Freed’s colleague at the University of Michigan, pediatrician and pediatric emergency medicine physician Andrew Hashikawa, studies child care exclusion policies and says they vary from center to center, county to county and state to state.
If a child vomits two or more times within 24 hours, they should be kept home; and also for a rash only if it is accompanied by behavior change, fever or drainage. Short-lived fevers are not reasons to call a parent or the doctor either given how common all of these symptoms are among very small children. They are not necessarily cause for concern. For older kids, yes.
This weekend, our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Ivanka Trump witnessed her dad Donald J. Trump get sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America.
The business mogul and The Apprenticereality TV show star carried her children Arabella Rose, Theordore James and Joseph Frederick with her to the swearing in ceremony at the US Capitol building this past Friday, January 20, 2017. She was captured leaving the President’s room of the US Senate after her dad formally signed his cabinet nominations into law. She wore a gorgeous white pant suit.
That night, she stunned in a jeweled and beaded long sleeve Caroline Herrera gown and took a dance at the Freedom Ball at the Washington Convention Center with her husband Jared Kushner who recently got cleared to serve as a special adviser to the president.
What a special moment for her and the family. They all looked great at the Lincoln Memorial the night before the inauguration witnessed a celebratory concert.
In the new year, a lot of people take the opportunity to start working on self-improvement and self-care. Many people enjoy motivational and inspirational words to keep them lifted and to help guide and keep themselves in focus.
Social media is a great harbinger of words of wisdom. I have collected several wise words over the years and have curated several of them on various Instagram posts on accounts I own or manage. Here are 50:
Blake Lively, Kristen Bell, Ali Arter and Jennifer Lopez attended the 2017 People’s Choice Awards.
I love the People’s Choice Awards, held this year at Microsoft Theater on January 18, 2017 in Los Angeles, California, for several reasons: 1) the nominees include a broad array of actors, actresses and TV shows, movies and bits that the average person enjoys, not just critics, film producers and elites; 2) they spread the love around and there isn’t one show or person that dominates all the awards; and 3) they have fun category like best collaboration. I mean the nominees this year for that category included:
Conan O’Brien’s Ride Along with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Spears’ Mall Mischief James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke with Adele Lip Sync Battle with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum Saturday Night Livewith Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon
How fun, eh?!?
A bunch of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums presented like Jada Pinkett Smith in Dolce&Gabbana and Christian Louboutin shoes and Ali Larter, who looked stunning in a cute pink strapless Zac Posen mini dress.
A lot were nominated too: Adele, Beyonce, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Kerry Washington, Kelly Ripa, Lucy Liu, Claire Danes, Ellen Pompeo, Hilary Duff, Keri Russell, Zoe Saldana, Scarlett Johanssen, EMily Blunt, Anna Farris, Zoe Deschanel, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, for example. See…what I mean? They nominate everyone!
And then there were the winners: Jennifer Lopez, who stunned in a Reem Acra gown, Brian Atwood shoes, and H. Stern jewels won for Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress.
Brand new second-time momBlake Livelyshowed out in in a black fringe Elie Sabb mini dress to pick up her win for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress for her role in The Shallows.

Grey’s Anatomy Sarah Drew, Fuller House’s Jodie Sweetin and Grey’s Camilla Luddington, who is in her third trimester of pregnancy and looking fabulous.
Sarah Drew in a Self-Portrait mini dress and Camilla Ludington‘s show Grey’s Anatomy won for Favorite Network TV Drama. Luddington wore a black and sheer mid-length Heidi Merrick dress, Casadei pumps and jewels by Established Jewelry. Fuller House and cast were on hand to accept their win for the Favorite Premium Comedy Series, including Jodie Sweetin attended. She juxtaposed her inner rocker girl in a Linea Pelle Collection leather jacket with a dainty wearing a feminine floor-length floral dress from Sheri Hill underneath.
Sofia Vergara was statuesque in Marchesa and Neil Lane jewels while winning the award for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.
Carrie Underwood wasn’t there but she walked away with the Favorite Female Country Artist award.
The biggest winner among all our alums was Britney Spearswho nabbed the Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Social Media Celebrity and the Favorite Comedic Collaboration for her “Mall Mischief” bit with Ellen DeGeneres. She was a no-show, however. Poo.
We love to keep track of the celeb moms that we covered on the blog while they were expecting their respective bambinos when we spot them on the red carpet at award shows and other former industry events.
This past Sunday, we spotted a ton of Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums and they all looked great! Some, like currently expecting Natalie Portman (in Prada),Kerry Washington (in Dolce & Gabbana and clutch, Sophia Webster shoes, and Niwaka jewelry); and Viola Davis (above in sunny yellow Michael Kors Collection dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Harry Winston jewels, and Judith Leiber clutch.) were nominated, and Davis won for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in the movie “Fences”.
Others like, Reese Witherspoon (in Atelier Versace with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Tyler Ellis clutch.) presented on stage.
We, like many other fashion sites and bloggers, noticed some clear trends such as the Yellow trend. Also, there were a lot of women in metallics on the carpet as well.
Loved Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen gown, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Fred Leighton jewelry with her own engagement ring, an Omega watch, and a Judith Leiber bag; Regina King ( in a Ramona Keveza dress, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, and jewelry by Butani, L’Dezen, and Yvel while carrying a Tadashi bag); Chrissy Teigen (in a Marchesa dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and a Jimmy Choo clutch) and Kristin Cavallari (in an Idan Cohen dress, Hearts On Fire and Doves jewels)
Black and White was another common theme: Teresa Palmer (in anArmani Prive dress, Niwaka jewelry, Sophia Webstershoes, and a Jimmy Choo bag. ( Heidi Klum (in a J Mendel dress, Giuseppe Zanottti shoes and clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.); and Sienna Miller inaMichale Kors Collection gown, Bally shoes, a Christian Louboutin clutch, and Tiffany & Co jewelry).
Some dresses were ornate and had lots of unique draping and structure: Busy Phillips (in a Stella McCartney dress and Irene Neuwirth jewelry); Jessica Biel (in an Elie Saab Haute Couture sleeveless deep-v neckline gown with black velvet bodice and mini checkerboard print skirt set with sequins, embellished with flowers in silk mousseline, sequins, crystal stones, silk threads and beads and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, an Elie Saab dress, and Neil Lane jewelry); Anna Chlumsky ( in a Roland Mouret dress, Loeffler Randall shoes, H Stern earrings, Hearts on Fire rings, and Tyler Ellis bag) and Carrie Underwood (in an Iris Serban gown, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Yoko London jewelry, and a Tadashi Shoji clutch.)
We also saw a lot of very deep cut neckline and a few like Thandie Newton ( in a gorgeous white Monse dress with metallic train, Harry Winston jewelry, and Jimmy Choo shoes., Drew Barrymore ( in a Monique Lhuillier dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and Harry Winston jewelry.);Felicity Huffman (in Georges Chakra jumpsuit, Martin Katz jewelry, and Christian Louboutin shoes) and Blake Lively ( in and Atelier Versace dress, Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.)
It’s time of the year when many people vow to get in shape. I too am eager to unpack some of the pounds I gained during the Holiday eating season. Also, I just returned from an overseas trip where I visited my husband’s native Trinidad and Tobago. There was plenty of yummy desserts, breads and other delicious meals that got demolished. So…yeah. Ten to 20 pounds later.
Here are the four things I will be using to get back into shape:
2. I plan to hit the gym regularly and run at least three times a day outdoors or on the treadmill in the gym or my home gym in my basement.
I also intend to cut back on carbs so I’m going to stockup on Thin Slim Foods. I did a review of theses yummy pasta, bread, bagels and desserts samples the company sells and was convinced. I am a genuine convert.
4. Because I’m budgeting this year for several planned excursions and investments, so Lululemon is out of the budget when it comes to updating my work out gear. Fortunately, I can get that same caliber and quality of clothing from Fabletics at a fraction of the cost. Fill out the quiz and you get a lovely selection of clothing to fit your exercise of choice, fit level, place of workout, clothing size and budget.
Once I join, I am offered one two piece outfit for $10.00 and when I order at least $39.95 in clothing, I get free shipping! You cannot beat that. I love leggings of all colors, patterns and shapes. I live in work out gear given that I work from home and have to be flexible with my choice of clothing. Running errands, heading out to pick up or drop off the kids, picking up mail and other routine tasks can be done comfortably in any pair of leggings. Here are the ones the Fabletics team picked out for me. Click below to take the quiz and get your own customized offerings:
