Beyonce HBCU Tribute Headliner and Celeb Moms at Coachella 2018

Nicole Richie, Beyonce Headliner, Christina Milian, Behati Prinsloo and Alessandra Ambrosio at the 2018 Coachella mMusic festival.

Many of our celeb moms headed to Empire Polo Field in Indio, California this weekend for the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Nicole Richie showed up in white to her Revolve x Nicole Richie House of Harlow x Urban Decay lunch. Behati Prinsloo was there looking fly in Alexander Wang zip-front pants, Vans and a bucket hat. Alessandra Ambrosio showed up looking fab and outfitted to the free spirit theme that is common among attendees.

Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner along with Kylie Jenner and her bestie Jordyn Woods headed down.

Whitney Port and Rachel Zoe were photographed in an iconic all white pic. Loved Christina Milian‘s Boho dress too!

Beyonce headlined by opening up her set in a regal gold and black caped outfit that resembled the regal African queen Nefertiti but then she quickly stripped from her opener fit to a custom Balmain athleisure look complete with a gold cropped hoodie with her initials embezzled in jewels on the front, denim cutoffs and shimmering high high toots.

Before it was over, mom to Rumi, Sir and Blue Ivy Carter had a few costume changes including a PCV leather leotard, and she brought her husband Jay Z out to do their duet of their 2006 song together “Deja Vu” and her sister Solange to perform “Get Me Body.”

There was also a Destiny’s Child reunion as our other alum Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Queen By for a few of their hits, “Lose My Breath”, “Say My Name” and “Soldier”.

Her set was an ode to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) because it featured a large marching band, drum and majorette line, reminiscent to the types you’d see performing during a homecoming game at Howard, Flordia State or Grambling State. (edit: There were actual FSU bandmembers playing). There was even an interlude when she acted as the prophyte initiating a new line into her fictional fraternity “B A K” — which could stand for Beyonce and Knowles or, Beyonce Phi Knowles or Beyonce Delta Knowles (couldn’t tell if that was an A, Delta or Phi symbol) who knows. The mock probate was entertaining!

A few of the dance moves during the set include “stepping” which is a traditional hand, clap and stomp movement common in Black Greek step shows with roots in African dance, ritual and customs.

Beyonce was supposed to headline at the festival last year, but she postponed her appearance after she announced she was pregnant with twins.

8-Months Pregnant Reality TV Star and Singer KeKe Wyatt Husband Asks for Divorce

TV One‘s R&B Divas: Atlanta alum Keke Wyatt is 8 months pregnant and recently shared on Instagram that her husband of 7 years, Michael Ford, wants a divorce. The singer, who has a phenomenal voice (I heard her in person) revealed the news in a tearful video re-posted on gossip site, Shaderoom.

“You want to know something, America? When you 8 months pregnant and you got a child sick, in and out of the hospital, and your husband got the nerve to tell you that he wants a divorce,” she says in the video. “Because… he says that you’re an emotional wreck. He says that from the very beginning you never trusted me and all that kind of stuff. Telling other people, other women that we getting a divorce and if she calls…like, what?! I’m so done with Michael Jamar. Y’all can have him and roast his ass. I don’t care.”

Afterwards, Twitter certainly roasted Michael Jamar (Ford), per a run down of the dragging by VH1.com.

Recently, Wyatt revealed that one of her children is battling cancer and she shaved all of her hair off in support of that child, Essence reports.

The couple had also recently babymooned in Hawaii in advance of the arrival of their fourth child together. Wyatt has three children from a previous marriage to her ex husband and road manager, Rahmat Morton. Ford has a child from a previous relationship and Wyatt suffered a still born at the end of her marriage with Morton.

She is pregnant for the 8th time though (including her still born baby) but if you count her step child, she is mom 9 x over!

She joins a list of celebrity women who broke up with her partners before the baby was born. This list includes Heidi Klum, Christina Milian, Kelis, Alexis Knapp, Mel B and January Jones.

Trend Alert: 80s Acid & Stone Washed Jeans are BACK!

I was in the mall the other day and realized that acid and stone washed denim was back in style. Whoa! How did I miss this during the last season’s international Fashion Weeks ready-to-wear runway shows?

When I last saw that trend, it was the 80s and I was pretty sure back then that it would never make a come back. Never say never because the style has always been spotted on some of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums in recent weeks such as Hayden Panetierre, Busy Phillips, Kim Kardashian and Christina Milian.

And some of the trendier maternity lines are up on it. They have acid and stone washed offerings for the preginista who wants to stay hip and current during pregnancy.

And for new and veteran moms, many non-maternity brands are selling the trend too.

2015 BET Awards Red Carpet: What & Who Our Star Moms Wore

We loved the interesting selections our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums wore on the red carpet last night at the 2015 BET Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. As usual, we’re doing our rundown on the designers who outfitted the ladies who walked the red carpet.

Kelly Rowland rocked a black asymmetric feathered mini frock by Lever Couture which featured a mock turtleneck and billowy sleeve cascading from the sleeves with slick back hair. It was a daring and bold move.

Amber Rose came hand in hand with her BFF Blac Chyna, both Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums. Each wore matching white suits and bustiers from lingerie designer La Perla. They even shared a kiss on the red carpet to celebrate the US Supreme Court’s decision which opened the door for gay couples in all states to marry.

Christina Milian also arrived in white. The reality TV star, actress and singer came decked out in a jeweled halter jumpsuit made by Erevos Aether and paired with Ruby Stella jewels and Jimmy Choo sandals. Cayooot!

Ciara made another fab choice by arriving in a plunging neckline Wes Gordon sheer dress made of embroidered metal, accented with minimal jewels and Stuart Weitzan pumps. She arrived with her new beau NFL Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Brandy went with her signature mini dress with a flare in this grey and black Michael Costello color block dress with pink pumps. Love the hair!

Monica looked regal in this flowing Stéphane Rolland Couture cape gown. Simply Stunning!

Lil Kim looked amaze balls as well while performing during the Bad Boys tribute. She popped out of a hole in the stage to the glee and delight of the audience.

2014 American Music Awards: Celeb moms sizzle on the red carpet

Several of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums rocked the red carpet to the 2014 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Here’s what they wore:

Christina Milian was gorge in a long black lace slip dress with a sleek back hair, hot pink lips and a delicate gold bangles.

Jennifer Lopez showed off her svelte and hot mama bod in a satin Reem Acra dress with sparking nude Christian Louboutin pumps and Norman Silverman diamonds.

Grrrrr! Fergie was sizzling in a black belted Halston high-split floor-length dress, accented with Loree Rodkin jewels and a super hawt pair of Versus triple clasp sandals.

Garcelle Beauvais worked the carpet in a crimson Michael Costello figure hugging halter t-neck dress, with a gold clutch and gold and black gladiator heels with a black cuff.

Giuliana Rancic looked amaze in a one sleeve Alex Perry dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, Rauwolf clutch, Pasquale Bruni rings, and Jack Vartanian earrings.

Heidi Klum went quirky with a criss cross pink and black Versace dress with Versace pink and blue platform heels.

6 celebrity couples who split up before baby was born

I saw this smokin’ hawt photo of Christina Milian today and thought boy is her ex singer/ mega producer The Dream missing out. The couple was one of several celebrity pairs to split in the middle of a pregnancy and BEFORE the baby was born.

Christina Milian was 8 months pregnant when she filed for divorce from The Dream in 2010.

Personally, I know of a few friends who wound up splitting with their boyfriend or spouse before having their baby and each of them say it was very challenging being pregnant and not at least having someone to help them through those challenging months. A few have said, in hindsight, they would’ve waited it out until baby was born. Oy! Here are four other celebrities who split before their child was born:

In 2004, four months before delivering her 1st child, son Leni, whose dad is billionaire Flavio Briatore, Heidi Klum started dated Seal, who she later married and had 3 kids with before they too split in 2012.

Rapper Nas and singer Kelis were in the middle of filming their MTV reality TV show when they split while she was 7 months pregnant with their first child together in 2009.

Alexis Knapp had to get Ryan Phillippe to submit to a paternity test to prove that the child she was carrying was his. The two split before Knapp confirmed she was pregnant in 2010.

Ex Spice Girl Melanie Brown too had to force comedian/actor Eddie Murphy to submit to a paternity test to prove he was the father to her then-soon-to-be born daughter Angel Iris born ironically on Murphy’s 47th birthday, April 3, 2007. The couple had split in 2006 and back then there was no way of proving paternity until the baby was born.

No one knows for sure who the dad is to Mad Men star January Jones’ first child, son Xander, but she announced she was pregnant in May 2011, five months after splitting with her boyfriend Saturday Night Live‘s Jason Sudeikis. Rumors swirled that Ashton Kutcher may have been the dad. The two are good friends.

Edited to Add: I found this post of 12 Celebrities that broke up before the baby was born that Crushable did a year ago which also includes Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, Tom Brady and Bridget Moynahan, Mary Louise Parker and Billy Crudup and Tiki and Ginny Barber which I so would have added to this list had I remembered about them too!
