George Clooney Probably Just Hinted Amal is Set to Deliver the Twins Soon

george-clooney-amal-gg

George Clooney probably signaled inadvertently to the public that his wife, international Human Rights lawyer Amal Clooney is expecting to deliver the couple’s twins any day now.

On Sunday, the actor and director was slated to attend an awards event in Armenia but he passed in order to not miss out on the birth of his twins while he would be away. .

“I really would have been (there) but if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home,” Clooney explained in a message.

The event was for the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, an annual $1 million prize bestowed on a humanitarian in honor of the survivors of the Armenian genocide. Both George and Amal have been consistent human rights advocates, and Clooney is the co-chair of the prize selection committee and has attended the ceremony in the past, per Time Magazine

The couple confirmed that they were expecting two babies earlier in the year.

How exciting if the new babies are indeed on their way!

Amal Clooney Plans to Get Back to Work 6 Months After Twins Are Born

george-clooney-amal-gg

It’s the final countdown!

In less than a month, Amal Clooney and George Clooney will welcome twins—a boy and a girl. Since The Talk‘s Julie Chen announced the barrister’s pregnancy in February, Amal has been taking it easy as she continues to advocate on behalf of the Yazidis in Iraq—a cause near and dear to her heart. “Amal is trying not to overexert herself,” a source tells E! News exclusively, adding that she’ll give birth in London. “She’s been very sensible throughout this pregnancy.”

After the twins’ birth, Amal will begin maternity leave. “She plans to be back at work around six months after giving birth, but her schedule will be greatly different than before,” the source says. “A lot of time spent working at home. She has a great office set up at the Sonning house.” According to the source, Amal has no intention of quitting the career she’s worked so hard for.

And, as E! News previously reported, the Clooneys plan to raise their children in the U.K.

Ahead of the twins’ arrival, the source says the couple consulted with Ilse Crawford, a London-based interior designer who focuses on human needs and “has a somewhat holistic approach to design.” According to the source, Amal and George waited until she was six months pregnant before they had the twins’ nursery decorated, because “they didn’t want to rush or jinx things.”

The Clooneys chose many of the items themselves. When they visited Paris in February, for example, they bought a few items at a boutique called Baudou and shipped them to the U.K.

The couple has also decided that after the twins come home, they won’t hire a live-in or full-time nanny. Instead, they’ll have a night nurse to help set a sleeping schedule in the beginning. Amal’s mom, journalist Baria Alamuddin, has expressed that she would like to be involved, too.

Amal’s final trimester hasn’t been all about the babies, of course. As E! News exclusively reported Monday, she orchestrated a surprise 56th birthday party for George; She asked their friends, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, to help her pull it off. “Amal made it a joint birthday celebration,” an insider revealed, “since Rande’s birthday was just a couple of weeks ago.” Both Cindy and Rande shared photos from the celebration via Instagram, but Amal—who’s been keeping a low profile—did not appear in any of them. As the insider explained, “Technically her due date is next month, but they expect the twins to come early. It’s just a waiting game now.”

Cindy and Rande can’t wait.

“I’m very excited. Obviously we’re fans of parenthood. I think it’s incredible for George and it really took Amal, I think, [for him to want to be a dad],” Cindy told E! News‘ Marc Malkin in March. “She’s just so amazing and they’re just so happy. It just seemed like a natural next step.”

“I’m not sure he’ll be changing diapers,” Rande joked.

Cindy teased her husband, saying, “By the way, you don’t know how to do diapers.”

When E! News caught up with George later that month, he promised that he does, in fact, know how to change diapers. “Hang on for a minute! I played a pediatrician on ER, so I know how to work on extra children,” the actor explained. “If there are any accidents, I’m there. I’m the guy.”

Amal Clooney Conundrum: News Sites Doing ‘Bump Watch’ is The New Normal

3b624759-b91a-48f8-b125-cc8047c879ac

A bunch of serious news publications like Time, Huffington Post, the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, and the like got dragged in social media this week for their reporting on International Human Rights lawyer Amal Clooney’s International Women’s Day speech at the United Nations.

On Wednesday, Clooney, also famously known for her actor-director husband George Clooney, accompanied one of her clients, human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee and Yazidi genocide survivor,  Nadia Murad to an important meeting in New York City.

During the meeting, titled “The Fight Against Impunity for Atrocities: Bringing Da’esh to Justice“, Amal gave a speech asking more be done to stop Da’esh, better known to Americans as ISIS, to prevent another Rwanda.

Rather than cover the very serious and substantive content of the first time mom-to-be of twins’ speech, those publications had articles that focused more on her baby bump and outfits.

As we’ve blogged a plenty before, the rules have changed in the digital and post-bump watch era and a lot of previously strict news sites have seamlessly encroached on salacious  news and gossip territory.

The Atlantic cracked the code, in the case of Time magazine, anyway, and figured out Time is just keeping up with the new generation of readers. The outlet noted a few years ago:

Over the last two years, TIME’s digital audience has expanded dramatically, and close to half our readers are millennials. They are drawn not only to TIME’s coverage of the world but increasingly to TIME’s content on how to live a richer, smarter, more meaningful life—how to negotiate a raise, how to manage your inbox, how to actually unplug on vacation. It was, we discovered, millennial women who were most passionate and most engaged with that content, and they were looking for more.

So we’ve created Motto, a new platform from the editors of TIME dedicated to empowering the next generation. It’s about offering the advice and support to blaze new trails and redefine success in the fundamental aspects of our lives: how we work, play, and live (and you’ll see that we’ve organized the site around these three sections).

The Atlantic gets it, writing,

“We are living, at this point, in a new regime. A reality TV star is president. Teen Vogue is  politics and policy. The Atlantic is covering the Kardashians. It is difficult—indeed, it is pretty much impossible—to find the line that divides politics from culture. Again: Convergence. Which isn’t a bad thing, necessarily—life is complicated and messy, and to divide its happenings into neat, newspapery columns was never fully true to that disarray—but it means that news organizations will need to be much more intentional about the way they present their stories to the public. It’s one thing for Entertainment Tonight to effuse about Amal Clooney’s baby bump. When Time does it, though—Time, which has spent years branding itself as a fairly straight-ahead summarizer of human events—the effusion will read as an insult, to Amal Clooney and to readers.

Yes, this may be The Atlantic covering itself here for getting into gossip news because clicks equal revenue and celebrity news sell.

All of digital media has to compete for the same eyeballs and cannot afford to leave any on the table…well er on the screen.

So we say lay off, though it would be in our best interest to not have to compete with established news organizations. (Ha!)

Bump Watch: Amal Clooney glows in White

Since the first time announcing that they were expecting twins this summer British-Lebanese lawyer Amal Clooney and  her Ocean’s Eleven actor husband George Clooney made their first public appearance.

They walked the red carpet at the 42nd edition of the Cesar Ceremony at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on Friday, February 24.

She glowed in a custom-made Atelier Versace dress, which featured a fitted top and ombre train.

Stunning!

Why Amal and George Clooney Will be Staying Away from Some African Countries and Iraq

amal-and-george

Now that international attorney Amal Clooney is pregnant with her and actor husband George Clooney‘s twins, she will avoid hostile countries like Iraq, and will “avoid places where she knows she isn’t welcome,” George told Paris Match magazine in a recent interview.

Likewise, the philanthropist and director producer says he “won’t go to South Sudan anymore or the Congo” in order to stay safe and “be much more responsible, to avoid the danger” now that they are soon-to-be new parents.

The babies will arrive in June and the human rights attorney will have to put on the back burner her legal work as a human rights attorney for human-trafficking survivor Nadia Murad , for example, which is very hostile to ISIS.

Good for them! Put those babies first.

Amal Clooney is Reportedly Pregnant with Twins

clooneys

This rumor has circulated a while now but Yahoo! is reporting that Lebanese-Brit human rights lawyer Amal Clooney is expecting twins with her husband actor/director George Clooney.

“She’s pregnant with twins,” the friend said told AFP, asking to remain anonymous and without providing any further details about the sexes of the babies or due date.

The couple married in Venice, Italy in 2014 and have been rumored to be expecting kids since then, so we’ll take this news with a grain of salt as well.

Amal represents the former Ukranian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Australian Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

She defended Al-Jazeera reporter Mohamed Fahmy after he was jailed in Egypt and was part of the legal team for former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed following his toppling in 2012.

She has also defended the cause of young Yazidi women who were abused by fighters of the Islamic State jihadist group.

Amal was born in Lebanon before her family moved to Britain when she was three years old.

If true, this would be the first children for both of them. George was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993 but that union produced no children. This was before he became the breakout star in the hit television series ER  which propelled him to the major A-list star he is today.

Elisabetta Canalis welcomed daughter, Skyler Eva

elisabetta canalis birth

Belated congrats to the beautiful Italian model Elisabetta Canalis and her surgeon husband Brian Perri, on the birth of their first child together, daughter Skyler.

The Dancing With the Stars alum welcomed the addition just four days after we published our exclusive feature on her, on September 29.  Canalis is best known among American audiences for famously dating George Clooney for a few years, but we say a gorgeous renowned Beverly Hills Orthopedic surgeon is a pretty good upgrade.

“My life is full of love because of you… Welcome into the world our lil Skyler Eva 29 – 9 – 2015,” Canalis wrote in the caption of her husband kissing the baby on Instagram announcing the birth. She also later showed off a photo of their babyn who we know is gorgeous given her hunky parents, resting on her chest. Sweet!

We also got to see a  close up photo of Skyler. Too cute!

And later a photo of her meeting her grandpa.

DWTS Alum, Model Elisabetta Canalis is having a Fabulously Fit Pregnancy (EXCLUSIVE INTVW)

Elisabetta Canalis567

When you last saw the leggy Italian beauty Elisabetta Canalis she was probably doing a pirouette with her dance partner on Season 13 of Dancing with the Stars. Too bad she didn’t make it too far in the competition, which included currently preggers Kristin Cavallari. Some have joked women were jealous that she had once dated George Clooney for a couple of years.

In any event, the actress and working model has moved up and on and these days can be seen looking fabulously preggers. She and her orthopedic surgeon husband Brian Perri are expecting their first child together.

Bellyitch nabbed an exclusive chat with the brand new Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF Italy to check in on her before she gives birth in a few weeks.

So far, she and hubby have not yet picked a baby a name and will do the unconventional thing and wait until they see her to decide.

“We have changed the name so many times” Canalis states. “My husband and I have different taste so we will decide  after looking  at her little face!”

Sounds like a plan and fortunately, from scanning her Instagram pics where she shares pregnancy with fans and followers, she looks like she is managing weight gain despite the fact she is craving “carbs and sugar.”

No one ever is lucky enough to crave something healthy like carrots and wheat grass, but Canalis is managing the cravings pretty well.

“I accept my cravings but I make compromises. If I eat cookies, tarts, cakes or pizza I cannot eat other carbs. For me, personally, I am happy this way. If you crave more pasta than other stuff, don’t eat sugar. Drink water!” she advises.

Staying healthy and fit on the Reformer in a Pilates Studio – Instagram

It may not matter anyway because Canalis stayed quite active during her first pregnancy and that’s usually a guaranteed way to drop baby weight. In IG pics she’s seen rowing and being pretty consistent and religious with Reformer Pilates, a machine we here love at Bellyitch.

She also tells us she goes to the gym twice a week, hikes, drinks plenty of fruit and veggie juicesto stay healthy, adding “I found that reducing the salt gives great benefits too!”

On handling unsolicited advice, Canalis says she takes it all in but will adhere to only certain ones, depending on the source.

” I get so much advice and I am happy to have friends who can tell me what is the best thing to do in any case,” she says. “For sure I will take the advice from friends whose children are raised to the way I want to raise mine. I had the chance to see  accomplishments and mistakes that many of my friends made  with their kids and I will use their examples.”

Friends’ stories can also pile onto existing fears and to avoid stressing over the horror stories Canalis recommends you stay away from YouTube.

She did watch “The Happiest Baby on the Block” and recommends at least one baby book though you’d have to understand Italian (or get a translated copy).

“There is a book I am reading that has been a blessing for some friends of mine, it is about understanding the difficulties that newborns generally have falling asleep and what the parents shouldn’t do! The names of the writers are Eduard Estivill and Sylvia de Bejar (Italian title Fate la nanna).”

It’s very common for children of celebrities to follow in their footsteps.  Canalis says won’t discourage her soon-to-be born daughter (who we know will be gorgeous) from going into the entertainment field.

“She will have to study first then she can try to do whatever she likes,” Canalis says then jokes, “she will have 2 kinds of examples at home, mine, working in the entertainment business, and her dad’s example of doing a serious job “.

She must not be serious because, although fabulous, the life of an actress and model can be taxing.

She has no time to chill and has to get back into shape soon after giving birth.

Posing an an awesome shirt earlier in her pregnancy – Instagram

“I will start to work out and eat properly as soon as I’m be able to. I have to shoot a fashion campaign 2 months after I  deliver so…I won’t have that much time!”

Canalis has a very healthy attitude about sharing her pregnancy with her fans and followers on social media, she tell us:

Sometimes I just don’t want to bother people or my fans by saying how I don’t feel great during these 9 months for this and that…. Talking about back pain, carpal tunnel or about all the bad sides of pregnancy makes this moment only harder and…. there is always someone who feels worse than you.  I don’t even like the idea of taking sexy provocative pictures right now…But this is only about me. Demi More was stunning when she posed naked for a magazine cover during her pregnancy…. I would only look goofy trying to be like that!

Bravo! Bellissimo!

Kelly Rowland is not the first celebrity to work out intensely while pregnant

Just saw on The Wendy Williams Show mention that Kelly Rowland is apparently catching a lot of flak from fans on the Internet over her Instagram pics showing that the Destiny’s Child band member and chart topping solo artist has been having an active pregnancy which includes working out regularly.

Unfortunately, many of her critics must be unaware that maintaining an active lifestyle including regular exercise is actually recommended by doctors so long as it is done in moderation, is balanced with hydration and a healthy diet and is keeping with the type of activity the mom-to-be had before she got pregnant. In other words, inactive cubicle hermits shouldn’t be doing what she is doing to stay fit while pregnant but a globe-trotting performer who dances regularly can. Furthermore,  she is not the only physically active and currently pregnant celebrity. MTV’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, who is expecting her second child currently with fiance Jionni LaValle,  frequenlty shares photos from the gym during this second pregnancy.
Also,  former WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler, who also known for being the long time ex girlfriend of George Clooney has been on several fitness magazines and done many interviews where she shares all of her work out secrets. She does Pilates 4 times a day and for the “Making of” video for her Fit Pregnancy cover shoot, she explained that she has been working out most days of her pregnancy doing  muscle toning work outs sometimes four times a day, playing tennis, hiking, golfing and meditating. Her trainer noted  in that Daily Mail article that said Keibler doesn’t eat junk food and eats clean. During her recent baby shower, hosts provided guests healthy  sugar-, dairy- and gluten-free foods. Again, it’s all about the type of woman she was before pregnancy. It doesn’t change after pregnancy and  just because you didn’t used to see it in social media doesn’t mean Rowland wasn’t a work out fiend before.
Other celebrities like Married to Jonas star  Danielle Jonas, who recently welcomed her first child with husband Kevin Jonas, Instagrammed themselves working out often during their respective pregnancies and didn’t seem to get much push-back.
Alec Baldwin‘s Pilates Instructor wife Hilaria Baldwin,  Kristin Cavallari, Teresa Palmer and international model Doutzen Kroes all Instagrammed themselves working out during their pregnancies. (see above collage)

We are very proud of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums Ivanka Trump, Daphne Oz, Kristin Cavallari, Danielle Jonas, Emily Deschanel, Molly Sims for their Fit Pregnancy  magazine covers and hope to see one of Kelly soon!

Stacy Keibler covers Fit Pregnancy ( Behind-the-Scenes VIDEO)

Mom-to-be Stacy Keibler may be best known for being the long-term girlfriend of George Clooney but these days she can be spotted on the cover of the June/July issue of  Fit Pregnancy looking healthy and happy. Keibler and her new husband tech entrepreneur Jared Pobre are expeting their first child together a daughter.
In a video to the making of the cover shoot, Keibler shares that she hasn’t had “any strange” food cravings and has been working out most days of her pregnancy doing pilates and muscle toning and work outs sometimes four times a day. She plays tennis, hikes, golfs and meditates as well.
