Chrissy Teigen Gets Real About Her New Mom Body Insecurities

Chrissy Teigen is staying consistent on her opinion of the post-baby body reality.

After giving birth to her daughter Luna in April 2016, the model turned TV host said during a  Today Show appearance that she didn’t think it was realistic for women to look to celebrity women as the standard for the post-delivery body.

“Anyone in the public eye, we have all the help we could ever need to be able to shed everything,” the Lip Sync Battle host then told the network. “So I think people get this jaded sensation that everybody’s losing it so quickly, but we just happen to be the ones who are out there.”

She added: “We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that’s normal, or like that’s realistic.”

Since giving birth to her second child, son Miles, earlier this year, the former Victoria Secret angel has found herself on the same side as most women.

In a new Twitter post about her personal insecurities, Teigen gets deep about seeing those perfect bods in social media.

“It’s crazy. I think it’s awesome people have killer bodies and are proud to show them off (I really do!!) but I know how hard it can be to forget what (for lack of a better word) regular ’ bodies look like when everyone looks bonkers amazing,” she tweeted.

She added, “also I don’t really call this ‘body confidence’ because I’m not quite there yet. I’m still insecure. I’m just happy that I can make anyone else out there feel better about themselves!”

While vacationing in Bali with her husband John Legend, she gave her fans and followers an up close look at her stretch marks on her back and thighs.

“I guess these just aren’t going to go away.” she captioned the photo. “This is my new body.”

Nice that she is embracing what so many women feel ashamed of…Bravo Chrissy!

Did Chrissy Teigen Really Ditch the Oscars for Taco Night At Home?

Did model, Lip Sync Battle host, and Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen announce that she is canceling attending the Oscars to eat tacos instead? Yup!

Shortly before the 90th annual event occurred at the Dolby Theatre on March 4, 2018 in Hollywood, California, Teigen tweeted, “I have cancelled Oscars Sunday and am trying to track down the taco truck featured in Ugly Delicious,” adding,  “does anyone around 6 months pregnant need a dress.”

Whether she was planning to attend or not is up in the air. She has been before. She was pregnant with daughter Luna in 2016 when she accompanied her husband John Legend who a year earlier won an Academy Award himself for Best Original Song for “Glory” in the film Selma.

He performed at the Governor’s Ball after the show but sans his wife.

But for second trimester preggers people, tacos are more important!

Teigen recently revealed that she is having a baby boy, sharing the news on her Instagram to her millions of fans and followers! Congrats! It follows a few interviews when she said that she and John were keeping it quiet for a while so they could have something sacred and private to themselves.

She also starred in a mid-show McDonald’s commercial during Sunday night’s award show. Watch it here: h/t BCKOnline  because I totally missed this otherwise!

So I See Chrissy Teigen is Following Our Pregnancy Advice

We consistently share a blog post about three things to never share with others about your baby in the oven until it is born, and I recently saw an interview with Chrissy Teigen sharing that she has adopted two of our core pieces of advice! (Well she didn’t give us credit for the advice, but that is besides the point! ha!)

During an interview with E! News during a media tour to discuss her Lip Sync Battle series the Twitter maven gave some insights on her other latest project: a brand new baby with husband John Legend.

Last go round, the model openly announced that she selected her baby’s gender because she felt her husband deserved a baby girl and she got lambasted for it in by the public in social media, mainly. This time, John asked her to keep it mum about the baby’s sex which they knew because they conceived it using in vitro fertilization.

“We had them on ice,” Chrissy joked. “So we know. We knew when we put it in, but John was like, ‘Make sure you don’t say it. Let’s have one thing for us,’ and of course I’m probably going to end up saying it, but I’m just going to do this favor to him for as long as I can.”

Good advice!

“Names are tough. What I learned was, never share your ideas,” she explained. “If you have a name idea, somebody is going to be like ‘No, I knew a person by that name in high school, and they were gross.’ That always happens.”

Yes, chile! This was also among our suggested no-no’s before baby is born!

The other is that you’re pregnant. Read why HERE!

Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Her Year-Long Battle with PostPartum Depression

In a very candid essay, model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen opens up for the first time about battling postpartum depression, a condition that affects 1 in 9 women, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

In the essay, the Lip Sync Battle co-host talks about being a very happy person and being genuinely ecstatic about starting a family with her husband John Legend. The couple welcomed daughter Luna in April 2016.

But then after her birth, she says she felt “unhappy: for “much of the last year.”

“What basically everyone around me—but me—knew up until December was this: I have postpartum depression. How can I feel this way when everything is so great? I’ve had a hard time coming to terms with that, and I hesitated to even talk about this, as everything becomes such a ‘thing.'” the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model reveals before sharing that as a person who lives her life as an “open book” she felt compelled to share her story:

“I had such a wonderful, energetic pregnancy,” she begins but adds that things turned a bit dark because of disruption at home.

“After I had Luna, our home was under construction, so we lived in a rental home, then a hotel, and I blamed whatever stress or detachment or sadness I was feeling at that time on the fact that there were so many odd circumstances,” Teigen shared. “I remember thinking: ‘Maybe I’ll feel better when we have a home.'”But it didn’t go as expected though she shared how the show was very accommodating:

I went back to work on Lip Sync Battle in August, when Luna was four months. The show treated me incredibly well—they put a nursery in my dressing room and blew up photos of Luna and John and my family for my wall. When Luna was on set, they lowered the noise levels. They turned down the air so she wouldn’t be cold. Only the most gentle knocking on the door. Pump breaks. I mean, there was no better place to get to go back to work to.

Life wasn’t the same, nonetheless.

But I was different than before. Getting out of bed to get to set on time was painful. My lower back throbbed; my shoulders—even my wrists—hurt. I didn’t have an appetite. I would go two days without a bite of food, and you know how big of a deal food is for me. One thing that really got me was just how short I was with people.

I would be in my dressing room, sitting in a robe, getting hair and makeup done, and a crew member would knock on the door and ask: “Chrissy, do you know the lyrics to this song?” And I would lose it. Or “Chrissy, do you like these cat ears, or these panda hands?” And I’d be like: “Whatever you want. I don’t care.” They would leave. My eyes would well up and I would burst into tears. My makeup artist would pat them dry and give me a few minutes.

I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy. I blamed it on being tired and possibly growing out of the role: “Maybe I’m just not a goofy person anymore. Maybe I’m just supposed to be a mom.”

And the feeling transcended work and home:

When I wasn’t in the studio, I never left the house. I mean, never. Not even a tiptoe outside. I’d ask people who came inside why they were wet. Was it raining? How would I know—I had every shade closed. Most days were spent on the exact same spot on the couch and rarely would I muster up the energy to make it upstairs for bed. John would sleep on the couch with me, sometimes four nights in a row. I started keeping robes and comfy clothes in the pantry so I wouldn’t have to go upstairs when John went to work. There was a lot of spontaneous crying.
