Alicia Keys Dedicated Her ‘Blended Family’ Song to Husband’s Ex-Wife

Blended families are very common nowadays. According to US Census stats 40% of married couples in America are stepcouples with at least one partner having a child form a previous relationship before marriage. And in fact 100 million Americans have a step relationship.

Singer and The Voice coach Alicia Keys is included in this demographic.

She is married and has two son (6-year old Egypt Daoud and 1-year old Genesis Ali) with producer/rapper Swizz Beatz (real name: Kasseem Dean) who also has a son 9-year old Kasseem Jr. with his ex-wife Mashonda; a daughter 8-year old Nicole with ex- singer Jahna Sebastian; and a 15-year old son Prince Nassir with ex Nicole Levy. It has been a not -so-smooth road, but today, all has been forgiven and to commemorate their blended family, Keys released a song dedicated to her blended family, but in particular, Mashonda.

In the lyrics, she also sings directly to her step kids. It’s a lovely song. There is a lot of buzz and commentary about it on the net. Have a listen:

Remember that popular Maroon 5 video for the group’s hit song, Sugar, which featured the band showing up and crash performing at a half a dozen weddings on December 6, 2014 in LA?

Well the video has become a reality TV show and is casting for a show being executive produced by frontman and The Voice coach Adam Levine and the director of Wedding Crashers David Dobkin.

Our friends casting for the upcoming NBC show, CELEBrations, want you to nominate a person having an event whose mind would be blown to have a certain celebrity, movie star, athlete, or musician crash the party!

If you have a family member, friend, co-worker, relative or other acquaintance who is having a celebration this March 2016 in the LA-area, Adam Levine wants to help you surprise the deserving guest of honor with an appearance by a fave singer, actress, celebrity or other public figure.

The show is being produced by NBCUniversal and will be a complete surprise to the fortunate person or persons who will get cast to star in this show (without their knowledge but) with your help!

SYTYCD’s Host Cat Deeley Bumped it up for Emmy Week

So You Can Think Can Dance host and 2015 Emmy nominee Cat Deeley had a grand ole time this Emmy week taking her bump to all the parties and the big show.

The statuesque Brit beauty and her husband Northern Irish comedian hubby Patrick Kielty are expecting their first child together since marrying in 2012.

Deely, who was up against the winner The Voice host Carson Daly for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Programming, stunned in a low cut jeweled and beaded gold gown.

The Friday night before, the former DJ and hubby attended the Emmy Awards’ Performers Nominee Reception at the Montage Beverly Hills hotel on September 19 in Beverly Hills, California.

She wore a tuxedo jacket over a black mini dress concealing her bump. And those shoes were the bomb.com.

The Thursday, she was out again in a black wrap dress with gold embellishments on the shoulder, and carried an Yves Saint Laurent clutch at Entertainment Weekly‘s Pre-Emmy Party at Fig & Olive restaurant on Melrose Place in West Hollywood California.

On Wednesday, she did black again at the Audi Celebrates Emmys Week 2015 at Cecconi’s Restaurant on September 17, 2015 in Los Angeles, California, wearing a black, grey and gold long sleeve mini dress with a box clutch.

The party started the week before actually, when she attended the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 12, 2015 in Los Angeles, California, in a high slit floor-length black with side embellished dress and sexy strappy heels.

Get Gwen Stefani’s ‘The Voice’ Style

We have been really digging all of the awesome, futuristic, retro and other structured and flowly looks Gwen Stefani’s style team have been putting together for her this season as she sits as a season guest judge on The Voice. Her tenure marks a third Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum’s role on the popular NBC singing talent competition. Christina Aguilera is an original host and Shakira has sat in Aguilera’s stead in previous episodes.

After each show, Stefani shares on social media a link to her website where fans can go to to “get her look.” Fun, fab and smart!

Update on Shakira: Drops new album, Covers “Latina” magazine

One of our latest Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums Shakira dropped her latest, a self-titled album, last week, March 25th.

The new mom has been busy ever since giving birth to her son Milan Pique Mebarak last January 2013. Shortly after welcoming her first child, Shakira did her first stint as a coach-mentor on The Voice replacing a touring Christina Alguilera.

And earlier this month, the Hips Don’t Lie singer debuted on the cover of Latina magazine. Inside it, the Can’t Remember to Forget You singer talks about how motherhood has changed her life.

She tells the magazine that her son helps her with her time management.

“I used to go in circles around an idea, but since he arrived I don’t have much time—I have to rush back home – so he has helped me learn how to focus,” she told the mag.

The sultry and sexy singer is currently engaged to Spanish Football player Gerard Pique, who shares the same birthday though ten years apart. She’s a baby cougar who has said work gets in the way of her birthing a bunch of more babies.

“If it weren’t because of my music projects I would be pregnant already,” the Hips Don’t Lie singer said. “I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard – my own futbol team.”
