Draya Michele welcomed Son, Jru (pronounced ‘Drew’)

VH1 reality TV star Draya Michele had her baby last Friday, April 8 but before she could announce it she had to first release her fab materntiy pics.

Her words not ours about welcoming baby boy Jru (pronounced Drew) with fiance Dallas Cowboy cornerback Orlando Scandrick.

“Thank you EVERYONE for the blessings and well wishes!!!!!” the Basketball Wives L.A. star tweeted. “I had him last week and I just wanted to take that time to enjoy him as my own little special gift.”

Jru joins big brother Knicko, the Adult Swim owner’s son from a previous relationship and twin sisters Taylor Tatiana, Scandrick’s daughters from another relationship.

Draya Michele has Elevated the Elegant Maternity Standard…and She Knows It

So…in case you ever wanted to know what an elegant maternity shoot looked like, reality TV star and swimwear designer and entrepreneur Draya Michele shows you.

The beautiful model who has starred in the VH1 docu-series Basketball Wives the longest of all cast members recently shared videos from a recent photo shoot on her Instagram page.

And it appears the Mint Swim creator is aware that she as elevated the standard because she captioned her last video, “So who wants to get pregnant next ????? Cuz um, the bar has been set.”

We also love that she is humble and is not ashamed to let her fans know she went low-budget on a dress and still looked fab in the process.

Inside Draya Michele’s Elegant Chinoiserie Chic Baby Shower

In keeping with our theme of showcasing Celebrity Baby Showers, next up is Draya Michele‘s elegant Chinoiserie Chic themed baby shower.

The event featured a photo booth and a step and repeat bearing the names of her swim suit line Mint Swim and her management team, Speed Limit Management, and the happy couple, Draya and Orlando Scandrick, cornerback for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

She looked gorgeous an elegant high waist white Grecian gown with her hair in a twist bun.

Michele’s 13-year-old son Kniko and Scandrick’s twin daughters from a previous relationship, six-year old Tatitana and Taylor attended.

Michele is the longest standing member of the VH1 Reality TV show Basketball Wives having been on it the longest and launched several brands from her new-found fame from the show. She recently told BET that she does not recommend doing reality TV because it “ruins relationships and families”, she said, adding that it takes a long time to repair your reputation after appearing on one. The actress also mentioned that only a sliver of women who do reality TV are able to transition to being successful afterwards.

Fortunately, Michele, who also told the network that she is ‘over’ the reality TV thing, is a big success case. She sold over $1M in Swimsuit, she recently told Forbes.com, and stars in the new romantic comedy The Perfect Match.

Draya Michele caps Off Her Pregnancy with a Beautiful Maternity Shoot

Basketball Wives reality TV star Draya Michele is getting close to her due date to deliver her first child with long time beau and fiance Dallas Cowboys cornerback, Orlando Scandrick. She is 34 weeks along.

The Mint Swim founder and swimsuit designer took some time off to take maternity portraits with photographer Von Jackson recently.

She shared some of the behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram.

Rumor Control: Draya Michele Clears Up Paternity of her 11-Year Old Son

Today is clear up the rumors Friday and our subject is second-time mom-to-be Draya Michele who VH1‘s Basketball Wives who is finally sharing who her son’s dad is.

We and many other media outlets have incorrectly stated that her son’s father is NBA veteran Gilbert Arenas, but it is not.

Draya took to Instagram this week to clarify the falsehood:

Here is Draya ….. At 17 years old I got pregnant by a man who became incarcerated for 10 when I was 7 months pregnant. With help from my mom, I was able to survive. Now, judging by how under-developed and young I was, besides living in a very small city in PA….. There’s no way in 2002 I got pregnant by some athlete. If I had, there’s not a chance in fucking hell I would have wasted 7 years of my life working “in the club” because clearly child support would be on fleek. I have never received A DIME of child support in my life and that’s ok. I have also NEVER attempted to say anyone other than who my son is named after (yes he’s a junior) was the father. My son’s father lives in pa and makes an honest living being a barber. This shit is completely embarrassing to me and my family. And I intend on putting this to final rest. I’m pissed that I had to take time from remodeling my office in my brand new 4000 square foot warehouse to even address this. But I’ve been quiet too long. I’ve also let people tell “my story” on tv too many times. I’ll speak my truths….. You speak your own and keep whatever momentum going by doing that. God bless. Draya Michele (real name Andraya Michele Howard) is the longest sitting cast member from reality TV show and today owns a clothing and swim suit label.

“At 17 years old I got pregnant by a man who became incarcerated for 10 when I was 7 months pregnant. Basketball Wives: LA star Draya Michele has confirmed that she and her fiance are back on. The swimsuit designer and original and longest appearing cast member of the VH 1 reality TV show has been seen out and about with her long time on-again-off-again beau Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scnadrick are back together.

“We’re just your typical soap opera black couple,” Michele told Hip Hop Hollywood about her notorious social media beefs she and Scandrick usually have. “You know we break-up, and then we make-up right away. You know we can’t really go too long without being without each other.”

The 6-months preggers star said she had no plans to rush down the aisle before baby comes.

“We’re not rushing for a wedding date. I’m not rushing to get down the aisle,” she added. “I’m just trying to get my baby out and relax for a little bit, maybe travel some, take my family some places we’ve never been before and then get married.”

And can we say she also looked fabulous in a black jumpsuit at the LA premiere of “50 Shades of Black” as seen in the photos above. And her skin is glowing. Beautiful, ma!

The 2017 Espys Red Carpet & Winners

The 25th annual ESPY Awards celebrating the best in sports went down yesterday night.

Among the winners were our current Bellyitch Bumpwatch mom, Serena Williams who won for “Best Female Tennis Player” and Bumpwatch alum Candace Parker who won for Best WNBA player.

Famous dads we’ve featured on the blog also won, including LeBron James who won for Best Basketball player and our new fave Cristiano Ronaldo was nominated for best male Athlete.

The Sports award show was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are Not the First to Hide a Birth from the Public for Weeks

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling pulled a Neve Campbell: totally hid the fact they had delivered a baby until discovered by prying paparazzi.

In 2012, Campbell was spotted by the paps playing with her baby 6 weeks after delivering her at a local park.

TMZ got a hold of the birth certificate for Mendes and Gosling’s second child, daughter, Amanda Lee Gosling. The new arrival was welcomed last month on April 29 at the St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California.

The extremely private couple did a great job of keeping the news secret.

The couple also have a two year old daughter named Esmerelda who has never been revealed to the public, or had her photo shared publicly. She was born on Friday, September 12, 2014, but that news was discovered too after some news agency’s did some creative snooping.

It is common for celebs who spend their entire lives in the public eye to shield certain part of their lives from the press.

We’ve never ever seen Kerry Washington‘s daughter, Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, either.

And in 2012, Dido only mentioned she had given birth to her first child with husband Rohan Gavin in December that year, months after actually delivering her son in the Summer.

Last month, reality TV star and swimsuit designer Draya Michele famously did not disclose she had given birth until after she released all of her maternity portraits via her Instagram account. She said she wanted a few moments with herself and the baby before letting the world know.

“I had him last week and I just wanted to take that time to enjoy him as my own little special gift,” she captioned a photo.

Besides those mentioned in this post, several celebs have successfully hidden a birth from the public and press until the media discovered it or they were ready to introduce the news on their own terms.
