Beyonce isn’t the only celeb mom to shield public criticique by only showing her daughter from the back

This week, Joan Rivers is getting pushback for calling Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s daughter North, ugly during her last stand up gig.

Even though Joan’s brand of snarky and biting humor is her shtick, babies maybe should be off limits. It’s no wonder some A-listers like Beyonce Knowles  avoid showing her daughter Blue Ivy’s face to the public.

 That 2-year old is subject to harsh public inquiry and has been the subject of some pretty mean memes over her hair and other physical features.
We have noticed that British girl band singer Rochelle Humes (nee Wiseman), who we bumpwatched when she was pregnant with her daughter Alaia-Mai Humes (born May 2013), also rarely shows her daughter’s face in images she posts in social media.

Other than once after Aiaia-Mai was born, she’s only been giving folks the Back of the head shot with her dad  and Rochelle’s husband former Boyband singer Marvin Humes –  a la Bey and Blue.
With all the Internet critics and wayward comediennes out there, can’t blame her, though.

Bump Watch: Danielle Jonas, Evelyn Lozada Instagram Belly progression pics

Danielle Jonas, star of Married to Jonas and Evelyn Lozada of VH1‘s Basketball Wives both shared an updated belly progression photo with their fans and followers on their respective Instagram  accounts.

Danielle and husband Kevin Jonas of E!’s The Jonas Brothers are expecting a daughter pretty soon. This will be the couple’s first child. They announced the news by showing a photo of the baby’s ultrasound last summer.

Equally, Lozada, who just got engaged to LA Dodgers player Carl Crawford this past December, is also waiting for her baby, her second. She has a 20-year old daughter Shaniece from a previous relationship. She is about 7 months along.

MLK Day: Celeb moms social media share about Dr. King

Some of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch moms of the past few years took to social media this morning to pay homage and send out tweets about Martin Luther King, Jr‘s holiday in the United States today. It’s a federal holiday set aside to pay homage to the birth of a man who led the Civil Rights Movement and encouraged the US government to move towards equality for all its citizens in all regions of the country, regardless of race. He also sparked the movement by empowering people to take peaceful action, through boycotts and marches, to effectuate change.

5 Ways to celebrate MLK Day with the kids

“He had a dream and it was so big and then he died.”
In honor of the gifts Dr. King gave our nation, try these five creative ways to help children celebrate his vision of hope and sense of humanity.

1. Create a Multicultural Banquet!

One of Martin Luther King’s greatest achievements was his ability to help Americans appreciate diversity. Celebrate his birthday with an eclectic holiday dinner featuring cuisine from different countries or geographical regions. Serve Puerto Rican rice-and-beans, Boston clam chowder, a Chinese stir-fry, and a peach pie from Dr. King’s native Atlanta. The variations on this theme are endless, and the dinner doesn’t need to be time-consuming. You can achieve almost the same effect by stopping for takeout from Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, and your local pizza parlor (Italian or Greek).

2. Decorate with Many Colors

What’s a birthday party without decorations? Here’s a great MLK Day activity to do with younger children: Make the classic paper chains using black, white, red, yellow, and brown construction paper to represent the various skin tones found across our nation. Show kids the symbolism behind the craft: “Each link represents a hand, and our chain reminds us that Dr. King joined hands with people of all colors when he marched for freedom.” A variation on this theme: Children can trace their own hands, then color them in using different skin-tone shaded crayons.

Inside Vanessa Simmons’ Baby Shower (PHOTOS)

Reality TV star and sneaker designer Vanessa Simmons celebrated her candy themed baby shower this weekend with her beau Mike Wayans  at the Sugar Factory  in West Hollywood, California.
It was a union of two Hollywood families as Simmons’ sister  Angela Simmons, dad Rev Run, uncle hip hop and business mogul Russell Simmons, Mike’s dad TV comedic legend Damon Wayans and other celebs joined in the fun that took place in a private residence.
Vanessa announced the pregnancy this past September 2013 when she shared a photo of her daughter’s sonogram photo on her Instagram account.  The star of MTV’s Run’s House and its spin-off Daddy’s Girls has stayed out of public spotlight since the announcement, though she’s posted belly progression photos once or twice.

Utah Fertility Clinic worker swapped out his own semen in place of clients’ (VIDEO)

This is the type of stuff you’d expect to see in a TV criminal drama like Law and Order  or in a Vince Vaughn movie like Delivery Man, but nope this is real life.
A Utah fertility clinic worker swapped his sperm for those of clients using in vitro fertilization and other methods to conceive a child.
Recently, a woman named Pam Branum and her family thought it would be fun to do genetic testing to trace the family’s lineage. During the process, she discovered that her daughter Annie was fathered with semen from Tom Lippert, a former employee of the Reproductive Medical Technologies clinic at the University of Utah. 

Lippert was a  convicted felon who lied about his criminal past when he applied for a job as a college professor and clinic worker.
Apparently, unbeknownst to the the college, Lippert, clearly a deranged individual, was convicted in 1975 of keeping a woman in a black box for three weeks while using electroshock therapy on her. 

Unfortunately, more answers will be hard to come by because the clinic closed in 1992 and Lippert died a few years later in 1999.
But Branum’s discovery sparked the current investigation.
“I commented on the dozens of baby pictures up there,” Branum told a local TV station. “He smiled and looked at those and said those are all the babies that I’ve helped couples have.”
The university set up a hotline for other families worried about potential tampering.
“I’m kind of glad he’s dead,” Branum said. “It kind of puts that part of it to rest.”
Creepy. *shivers*

2014 SAG Awards Red Carpet & celeb moms that rocked it (PHOTOS)

We’re well into Award Season and as usual, several of the moms we “bumpwatched” and followed in the past and others seriously werked the red carpet tonight at the Screen Actors Guild awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Including, winner for Best Cast Comedy Modern Family, Sofia Vergara, in a glitzy and bejeweled  Donna Karan Atelier curve hugging dress.

Others spotted looking glam tonight included:

Mom-to-be nominee for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role in  Scandal, the lovely Kerry Washington in fuchsia silk embroidered crop top and skirt by Prada revealing part of her 6-months pregnant belly. She donned Harry Winston diamond earrings and a diamond cocktail ring to polish off the bold look.

Model Camila Alves McConaughey walked the carpet with her Outstanding Actor nominee hubby Matthew McConaughey in draped Donna Karan Atelier floor-length gown while Matt looked stunning in Dolce & Gabbana.

Homeleand actress and nominee Claire Danes rocked the carpet in a Vionnet VIP collection mermaid dress, Jimmy Choo “Lance” sandals and Forevermark diamond jewels.

Giuliana Rancic has been doing more traditional Hollywood glam gowns recently and did so again in this  eggplant Basil Soda gown which looked good against her skin and accentuated her traditional over the ear sleek one-sided bob she usually wears. It’s a safe but very cute look for her. 

Julia Roberts stole this look from the 80s, the long ringlets cascading over this rose Valentino dress was meh for the Osage County actress and SAG nominee.







Tina Fey went black in this simple yet classic Osar de la Renta dress and was accompanied by her equally fashionable daughter Alice

30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski  won some of the night in this striking jade green Roland Mouret dress which works with her sexy style and sleek bob.

Jennifer Garner, who stars in Dallas Buyers Club looked A-Mazing in a fab Max Mara gown accented superbly with a cute Ferragamo clutch with David Web jewels.

This ornate Naeem Khan gown Malin Akerman wore aged the Trophy Wife star a bit but was a head turner, nonetheless.

Mariah Carey was nominated along with her castmates from The Butler for Outstanding Cast Motion Picture and went short in a Yves Saint Laurent one-shoulder mini dress paired with Gianvito Rossi  heels and and Wilfredo Rosado earrings. The fingerless gloves were an eclectic extra touch that we’re not sure she needed. A more formal dress may have better suited this event.

Homeland‘s Morenna Baccarin just had a baby yet managed to look Super Gorg in a glam royal blue crisscross Monique Lhuillier with blinged out wrist.

 

One of our very fave moms Elisabeth Rohm, winner tonight along with her fellow American Hustle castmates for Outstanding Cast for Motion Picture, in a lace overlay Marchesa Resort 2014 gown 

 

Sandra Bullock went with emerald green Lanvin dress again with the swept bow and deep spit on the side and updo, which works but isn’t as stunning as her other looks for previous shows.
